Next up this Friday, we roll out our usual pre-Gameweek members article offering insight on the Gameweek captain conundrum. As always, we highlight the main candidates on offer, analysing the Opta numbers and checking up on the Rate My Team ratings before offering up a couple of differential options in light of the data analysis.

Captain Poll

After just two weeks of the 2016/17 season, the captain poll is taking up a familiar pattern.

Yet again, Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the key protagonists after bagging a brace apiece last time out.

Aguero takes top spot for the third successive Gameweek as City prepare to entertain West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday.

Over 40% of voters are backing the Argentine – who scored twice in his last appearance against the Hammers – to do the business again.

It seems that Ibrahimovic still has some convincing to do. Despite being neck and neck with Aguero on 22 points apiece, he’s convinced only 27% to hand over the armband as United make their way to promoted Hull on Saturday evening.

Similar to last week, third place goes to Eden Hazard. The Chelsea wide man seems rejuvenated under the guidance of Antonio Conte and has picked up points in both the opening Gameweeks ahead of a plum home encounter against Burnley.

That trio take up the bulk of the votes, with Diego Costa and Harry Kane – with 2% backing – the next most popular picks.

Similarly, with few Fantasy managers willing to look beyond the top three, this leaves the likes of Dusan Tadic, Riyad Mahrez and Palace new boy Christian Benteke (all 1% selected) shaping up to be big differential picks as the trio prepare for home comforts. Benteke is uncertain to start against Bournemouth, though, judging by Alan Pardew’s comments earlier today.

Liverpool have a big squad with a smaller amount of games so it seems as though Klopp's methods may work better this year. We'll see.

Simple really...If the players he has can't hack it then they have to go....You can't play a high energy game with wallflowers....

i'll narrow it down to these points. I have 2 FTs and happy with my team. Considering taking advantage of 1 FT to improve my team. no money itb

    foster-(jak)
    Stones-valencia-morgan-(friend-amat)

. Thinking to lose morgan to Williams but he has a great fixture this week.
. Gray to another 6.5m but no other good options (i don't think rondon is a better option)
. Maybe friend cause he hasn't the best fixtures, injured and in many teams to 4.5m
-Targett? good fixtures, good team, differential
-Holding? great fixtures, strong team but won't be nailed soon
-won't double up on west brom def
-soare? I don't rate crystal def
. Perhaps Morgan to targett (so both have great fixture this week), use the 0.5m next week to upgrade friend to williams?

thanks a lot and i apologise for my long post

same, had 2FT this week and was happy with my side but did Gray > Rondon, think Rondon is currently third in the shots in the box stats so at least that gives him a good chance of returns this week

Is no an acceptable answer ? . Fabregas came on and impressed last week so I honestly don't know how nailed on Oscar is and you should have learned about the cons of Walcott after last year . Even if you are just playing for fun you might as well punt on people that will be on the pitch .

Thanks for the heads up, I'm on a wildcard and have Jaku, probably replace him now for Pickford. Pickford is a talented young keeper who could nail down the number 1 spot at Sunderland
