Next up this Friday, we roll out our usual pre-Gameweek members article offering insight on the Gameweek captain conundrum. As always, we highlight the main candidates on offer, analysing the Opta numbers and checking up on the Rate My Team ratings before offering up a couple of differential options in light of the data analysis.

Captain Poll

After just two weeks of the 2016/17 season, the captain poll is taking up a familiar pattern.

Yet again, Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the key protagonists after bagging a brace apiece last time out.

Aguero takes top spot for the third successive Gameweek as City prepare to entertain West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday.

Over 40% of voters are backing the Argentine – who scored twice in his last appearance against the Hammers – to do the business again.

It seems that Ibrahimovic still has some convincing to do. Despite being neck and neck with Aguero on 22 points apiece, he’s convinced only 27% to hand over the armband as United make their way to promoted Hull on Saturday evening.

Similar to last week, third place goes to Eden Hazard. The Chelsea wide man seems rejuvenated under the guidance of Antonio Conte and has picked up points in both the opening Gameweeks ahead of a plum home encounter against Burnley.

That trio take up the bulk of the votes, with Diego Costa and Harry Kane – with 2% backing – the next most popular picks.

Similarly, with few Fantasy managers willing to look beyond the top three, this leaves the likes of Dusan Tadic, Riyad Mahrez and Palace new boy Christian Benteke (all 1% selected) shaping up to be big differential picks as the trio prepare for home comforts. Benteke is uncertain to start against Bournemouth, though, judging by Alan Pardew’s comments earlier today.

Seriously boys... you're all knowledgeable.... Holgate a decent option? Seems well liked by Koeman from the little research i did.

Holgate is great. Think the manager likes him too. Just depends on Coleman's fitness though. Doubt he'll be rushed back if Holgate is performing so he might be a decent option until you WC

If you think holding on to the WC longer than you usually do is likely then this is just a transfer waiting to happen and a defensive one.. Holgate ain't gunna keep Coleman out of the side mate

Think it's worth trying to squeeze Stones into my starting line-up this week? West Ham aren't quite looking like the team of last year and City should win, but is he worth starting ahead of McCauley, Shaw or Morgan?

I agree and think Citeh will keep a CS this week. But Morgan is the only one you can really consider dropping IMO. Not sure it's worth it considering Stones offers basically zero attacking threat

McCauley is the one I'm considering really, Middlesbrough seem to have decent attacking threat unlike Swansea.

Might just go with the bookies cs odds altogether

Definitely not mate, might play a part Sunday and that's his lot. Will probably be sold or if not Payet, Lanzini and Feghouli back after break and Zaza will be in with Fletcher already looking great and ahead of Valencia in the pecking order now.

          Vardy vs Lukaku

Asked this earlier today but still can't make my mind up. Have Vardy. Home vs Swansea. Tempted to get Lukaku instead for a free transfer, home vs Stoke. Scoring odds are very close between the two. Already have Barkley. Any thoughts please?

There is no need to hurry and get Lukaku now, his ownership is low I believe so not having him will not do any damage. Both are able to bag a few on the weekend, I would just wait and save this transfer.

Yeah Everton fixtures just look so good, wanna be ahead of crowd I guess. Not sure if I trust Vardy tomorrow but I should stick.

Everton predicted front 4 vs Stoke.

          Bolasie Barkley Mirallas
          Lukaku

Is this the most likely line up? Deulofeu wasn't involved midweek, Mirallas was on the bench through the whole match, while Bolasie played 90 min. Has Koeman given any hints about what team we can expect?

          Cheers

            Yes....he said...

Some of those who made their full debut midweek were playing their first match of the season and won't be ready for another 90 mins...meaning Bolasie and Williams I assume

2FT's £0.00 happy with midfield and attach and I have 3 options:

          Defence is currently

          Jakupovic, Heaton
          Stones, Valencia, Friend, Amat, Wasilewski

          Which is best (if any?)

          1.Friend-----Holgate
          2.Friend----Williams/PVA/Janmaat & Heaton----Pickford -4
3.Wasilewski to a more secure 4.0 and play 2-5-3 Capoue

right buger it gray to negredo for -4 before he rises again. could easily pay for itself this weekend and saves a headache over the international break if gray suspended

Later in the season, why not? Not worth a punt now, though, Spurs need to find their form.

I'm thinking of swapping Vardy out for Ibrahimovic, and Firminho out for Redmond (although I do already have Tadic in midfield).

Good swap, or a waste of four points?

Well it would have been a hell of a lot better if youd done it before Ibra rose twice and Vard & Firmino dropped. But they're not the worst moves in the world for -4. Close one.

Play Deulofeu and have 2FT over the int. break, or use my FT on Deulofeu > Lamela?
