A typically disciplined Burnley performance nullifies Watford’s recent attacking verve and earns a precious three points at Turf Moor. Here’s the Stock Check after Monday brought the curtain down on Gameweek 6.

On the Rise

Tom Heaton
A second clean sheet of the season promoted Heaton back to the top of the FPL keeper rankings on 27 points.

Priced at 4.6, Heaton goes on confirming his value in well-drilled Burnley defence that, at Turf Moor at least, should go on generating shut-outs.

Michael Keane
Arriving in the Premier League with a reputation as a threat from set-pieces, tonight Keane delivered his first Premier League strike.

Five goals during Burnley’s promotion season flagged up his goal threat and saw him claim a 5.0 initial price in the FPL. While that has since fallen to 4.9, we’ll need to see more from Keane to warrant that outlay with Heaton an option in goal.

Steven Defour
If we ever go knocking for a Burnley midfield with 6.0 to spend then Defour will be our go-to option.

Clearly a class act, the Belgian has registered three assists a goal and six bonus points in his Burnley tenure so far. He is, however, still to complete 90 minutes.

In Decline

Jose Holebas
We were grateful to see him fit to claim his starting role at left wing-back but this was not an enjoyable evening for the Greek.

Pinned back in the first-half by a determined Clarets, Holebas was forced into a traditional left-back role with Walter Mazzarri’s tactical changes as the Hornets chased the game.

More significantly, he earned a fourth booking of the season and is now just a single yellow away from a one-match suspension. After suffering defeat in the EFL Cup, they also don’t have the option of allowing him to absorb any suspension outside of Premier League action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

AOA has been suggested, but would you take a hit to sort this out now? 1 FT and 0.4 ITB

    Baines - awaiting injury news
    Amat - intended bench fodder
Kelly - made way for Fryers, who assisted McArthur
Galloway - was ill last GW, Evans played and also Brunt played for reserves last night
Hernandez - silly gamble with Simpson injury and LEI CS in CL

Or save FT and ride it out?

Play it out. There is no real problem with your first three. Wait on news for Baines.

Baines seems to be picking up these little injuries regularly now. If he's out then straight swap to Coleman, but yep I think I'd prefer just to ride it out for after international break.

Probably not, too much rotation risk, and random distribution of points, how they scored four, and Zlatan had no involvement I just can't understand?!

Zlatan, and Pogba I think are the only nailed on options right now.

Yeah, I only saw a screen shot, but the article was talking about Klopps approach, and saying the full backs are basically midfielders now.

Chances created was something like Clyne/Milner 12/13, next PL highest was Bellerin with 6

Is Capoue really the 5th midfielder to take us forward? I would hazard a guess most of us picked him up early and have made a nice profit. If we sell now for the likes of fletcher it gives us 0.5 to spend elsewhere. Am thinking Arsenal defence over the next great fixtures. Thoughts?

Which looks the better move? I need to do one of these to get Sanchez.

    a) Deeney ➡ Callum Wilson. Similar stats, also on penalties, decent fixtures.

    b) Capoue ➡ 4.4 Bought Capoue at 4.5. He's my 5th mid. Time to cash in?

    1. Reiko
      • 10 Years

Tough to say. Since Watford have slightly better fixtures, can probably lose Capoue since u already have Deeney

Am seriously thinking about cashing in on Capoue and if it was to get Sanchez in my team it's a no brainer. Ask yourself this..How many times are you going to call on Capoue for cover. Probably not many 🙂

Agreed, but it's still nice having a 5th midfielder who can score points. That's what's making this a tough choice!

        9 years, 2 months ago

You are calling this on the back of one blank? Show me another player who has value written all over him... It is a wrong move in my opinion. I believe he is a season keeper and at worse he will play the role of my 5th mid...

        1. DGW Sane TC Fail....
          • 15 Years
          9 years, 2 months ago

Not calling it on one blank. He can't keep up his points average, his stats are not good enough(6 shots, 4 goals). I will hardly play him all season and he's holding up 0.5 million i can spend elsewhere.

          1. Calafiorication
            • 11 Years
            9 years, 2 months ago

In my opinion it really depends on who you choose as your 5th mid... I have had Capoue from GW1, benched him 3 times and luckily had him subbed on twice. Having a reliable point scorer is a plus. That being said, I know he can't keep up with his averages but the way Watford is set up he will get the odd goal and bonus every 3 games at least...

Just had a wild thought to

Taking a risk either way on captaincy. Burnley have a wicked defence at home and only conceded no more than 1 goal at home to anyside this year. Tottenham have a great defence and have not been beaten by Man city since early in 2015. Good luck with your choice. Aguero does have a good scoring record against tottenham though
