The Dugout Discussion – Chelsea vs Leicester City

Gameweek 8 gets underway at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea entertain defending champions Leicester at lunchtime.

The Blues will be looking to Diego Costa to continue the form that’s served up a goal or assist in six of the first seven Gameweeks and helped him to the top of the FPL forward standings.

Costa remains just one booking shy of a single-match ban, though, with his owners hoping he can remain on the referee’s good side against the Foxes.

Antonio Conte makes just one alteration today, with Willian replaced by Pedro in the front three.

Claudio Ranieri’s men arrive on the back of three straight losses on the road.

Indeed, although they have conceded just once at the King Power, Leicester boast the Premier League’s worst defensive record on the road and have already conceded 10 times in three away outings.

With one eye on the Champions League, the Foxes boss has shifted Riyad Mahrez to the bench in one of three changes, with Islam Slimani and Danny Simpson also dropping out to be replaced by Ahmed Musa, Jeffrey Schlupp and Luis Hernandez.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Costa essential now ? Especially as he's on the 4 yellows so more chance of BPs

His baseline BAPS are very low. Still a risk in that regard

Highest scoring player in the game to date so dont think that is really a risk to most.

As a Barca fan. I would say starred. Especially in the 2010-2011 season. But then his ability to beat/ get past a man declined considerably..

And especially for Barca player against compact opponents, it showed.

            Surely Messi was the star.
If it was a film, Pedro was always a supporting actor but never the star

Pedro was first choice up til 2012. 2 seasons alternating between the bench and starting lineup after we got Sanchez and he rightfully requested more playing time.

Don't miss him though (as a player).

His effective ownership is less than 60%, so they want more goals (unless their closest rivals happen to have captained him).

Alonso is looking like a very good option. Very high up the pitch. Getting up for corners. On some free kicks. Chelsea looking a lot more solid at the back.

Now, how do I fit him into my team!
