Sunday’s events conclude at St Mary’s as Southampton play host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Saints will be seeking a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, a seventh in a row in all competitions.

Visitors Burnley will need to improve their attacking threat in order to threaten that record. The Clarets have scored just five goals from their seven matches, creating three big chances – the fewest in the Premier Leauge.

The Saints attack has disappointed with just seven goals scored in their seven matches. However, the statistics show that they have the potential to improve on that record in this one: Claude Puel’s side have produced a shot on goal every 4.8 minutes at St Mary’s – only Liverpool have been more threatening in home matches this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Heaton
    Clyne Amat Vertonghen
    Antonio Firmino Snodgrass Sterling
    Ibrahimovic Lukaku Aguero

    Pickford Capoue Collins Evans

What would you do with that load of crap?

Just get rid of Collins for a playing 4.5

I had an atrocious score too, and hard not to kneejerk.

Not a load of crap. Try to get some Arsenal in quickly. Ibra - Defoe / Benteke / Austin etc and Antonio to Sanchez / Walcott, then upgrade Evans to decent defender.

That would mean a hit though and surely goals are due soon for Ibra?

Wait til next week. Ibra will Score, but imo you need to sort out Antonio, Collins and Evans and Ibra is best route to do so.

Gomes, Karius? Both have good fixtures, Gomes for saves, Karius for clean sheets.

Yeah, I think they're coming. As i understand, Liverpool have conceded a very low number of shots (though I welcome someone to correct me), they've just been going in. Now their fixtures have improved, hopefully cleanies coming.

You can make a case for that, unfortunately though we're still horrible at defending set pieces so goals could easily go in from those.

Very nearly went for Karius myself but I am now looking at Grant. £4m and Stoke seem to have picked up plus their next 10-12 games are relatively easy.

Butland will be back in a month and may not play immediately but you said the coming weeks. I will be getting Grant now I think and then upgrade to Butland when he is back, fit and regular. He may drop before then too.

Yes but that is at least a month away. Most likely he will be back after the next international break. I think I will get Grant now and then Butland when he is back.

Heaton has done very well for me so far.
Was really unlucky against Arsenal last gameweek, and Burnley are virtually impenetrable at home.

Snodgrass in that price bracket I guess with the upcoming fixtures - Hull can't get worse and he already has goals in 3 weeks

Not too keen on Joe Allen.

Why not keen on Allen? He's playing much further forward than he used to and he's scoring. I think he's a great pick for the price, I'm certainly replacing Capoue with him.

    Afternoon all, some opinions appreciated

    Foster, Pickford
    Kos, Baines, Holebas, McAuley, Amat
    Antonio, Sanchez, Son, Snodgrass, Rodwell
    Kun, Lukaku, Wilson

    1FT, 2.7 ITB.
Would you do McAuley > Francis to enable Son > KDB for -4?
Really fancy KDB to put up some big points over the next 5 GW's and with City having shown how much they need him I can't see him being a rotation risk, certainly not as much as Son anyway. Francis is an enabler and rotates best with Holebas over the next 10 GW's. McAuley has some terrible fixtures too!

Thinking Capoue is too cheap for a fire-sale with Swansea and Hull in his next two. Snoddy is more of a concern.

      • 11 Years

Disagree. Capoue never had a reputation for scoring before, he had a lucky few weeks and will probably have a long run of blanks now. Snodgrass got good fixtures too, on pens, and is a proven goalscorer
