Before we profile the best picks for your eight-player DraftKings line up let’s take a look at the matches taking place tonight across Groups E to H.

In Group E, Tottenham Hotspur travel to Bayer Leverkusen where in-form Son Heung-Min spent two years before the move to North London. The South Korean was utilised as a sub in the weekend draw at West Brom, indicating that Mauricio Pochettino sees him having a crucial role to play in Germany.

Real Madrid are heavy favourites at home to a Legia Warsaw side that lost 6-0 in their last away match in Group F to Borussia Dortmund. Meanwhile, the German club visit Lisbon having failed to win their last three matches – a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid was followed by defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and a draw with Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Leicester City appear to be focusing on staying top of Group G after losing 3-0 to Chelsea in the league. Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani started on the bench against the Blues so should be fresh for the visit of a Copenhagen side that have kept four successive clean sheets in the league.

Juventus lead Group H on goal difference, with a 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb following a goalless draw with second-placed Sevilla. The Italian Champions are clear favourites against a Lyon side that have lost three out of their last four in all competitions.

Group E

CSKA Moscow v AS Monaco

Bayer Leverkusen v Tottenham Hotspur

Group F

Sporting CP v Dortmund

Real Madrid v Legia Warsaw

Group G

Leicester City v FC Copenhagen

Club Brugge v Porto

Group H

Dinamo Zagreb v Sevilla

Olympique Lyonnais v Juventus

Key Picks

As always DraftKings allows changes right up to the 7.45pm kick-offs, allowing you to adjust your line-ups according to the teamsheets.

If you are new to DraftKings, you can check out our player selection guide.

Here are some of the most exciting targets to consider for the Champions League matches this evening:

D – Felipe – Porto – $3,900

A threat at set-pieces, the Brazilian scored against Roma in qualification and has notched a league goal against Sporting Lisbon. Priced very favourably, the centre-back could pick up points at both ends of the pitch in the road trip to Club Brugge.

D – Sergio Escudero – Sevilla – $5,000

The Sevilla defence have kept back-to-back clean sheets so far in Group H, promoting their defensive assets. Left-back Sergio Escudero supplied six crosses last time out to help accrue a 17-point haul against Lyon and boasts some impressive underlying defensive stats in La Liga.

D – Dani Alves – Juventus -$6,500

A goal and assist against Dinamo Zagreb, as well as 17 crosses across two UCL appearances, means we’re considering including the ex-Barcelona defender, despite the hefty price tag.

M – Toni Kroos -Real Madrid – $7,900

The German created eight chances over the first two Matchdays, and Luka Modric’s injury makes his passing range even more important for the Spanish side. Real should guarantee goals against Legia Warsaw, and since the midfielder served up two assists against Betis at the weekend, pairing him with Cristiano Ronaldo looks a worthy strategy.

M – Thomas Lemar – Monaco – $7,600

The youngster scored a goal against Spurs and has impressed in Ligue 1 of late, scoring three goals in five outings. A share of corner duties should bring points from crosses, a crucial part of the scoring system in DraftKings.

M/F – Son Heung-Min/Erik Lamela – Tottenham Hotspur – $7,800/$7,900

Son has scored five goals in seven appearances this term and looks guaranteed to lead the line having started on the bench at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

It could also be another chance for Lamela to shine, given that the Argentine has assisted both of Spurs’ goals this in their European campaign so far.

F – Islam Slimani -Leicester City – $8,200

Another asset benched on Saturday, the Algerian is kinder on the budget than Jamie Vardy ($8,800) and Riyad Mahrez ($9,400) for tonight’s clash. Slimani proved to be decisive for the Foxes last time out in Europe, scoring the winner against Porto to make it three goals in five appearances.

F – Andre Silva – Porto – $8,000

The Portuguese forward has netted three times in the last two league matches and registered four goals for his country during the international break. In that form, he looks good value against a Club Brugge side that have shipped seven goals over the opening two Group G matches.

F – Paulo Dybala – Juventus – $9,800

The Argentinian has also scored three in two league outings to follow the goal against Dinamo Zagreb on Matchday 2. Across 12 appearances in all competitions, the forward has had 35 shots on goal and registered 46 crosses to earn 12.8 FPPG on DraftKings.

F – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – $10,100

A late leveler at home to Hertha Berlin on Friday evening took the Dortmund forward’s tally to six goals in as many appearances. The German outfit have netted eight times in two Champions League clashes and Aubameyang looks their man in form away to Sporting Lisbon.

Surely NOW I have to be the only one keeping Zlatan. Still BUR and swa after Chelsea. He has to score at some point, right 😉 ?

Definitely! It can ruin your season. Currently around 1million OR so my hopes to beat last year's 5K has vanished anyway. Why not have faith in Zlatan Then 😉

There is definately a case for avoiding kun this year:
    1) Pep has shown he's not afraid to tinker
    2) Iheanacho is a year more experienced
    3) KDB is becoming mopre and more important to the team
    4) So many expensive and explosive players going well this year that its not that hard to pick a captain that can rival him
    5) Allows more of these expensive players in your team

Not saying do it just that its more plausible than before

Aguero is not essential. Aguero is not essential. Aguero is not essential.

I will keep Kun and I will keep Sanchez but I agree with this idea in theory.

If Aguero could stay fit for an entire year then he would be a season keeper. But points are loss moving him and out, and money sometimes, which negates his appeal (and reduces available transfers for other points)

I could afford a midfield of KDB, Sanchez, Walcott, Firmino and Coutinho without him, and very good options in attack and defence also.

Definitely makes alot of sense all your points.
But then going with Aguero means risking about a 45% owned player who will most like be captained atleast 25-30% every week.
And if Zlatan would have been in better form then going with Kun could be justified.

Right now its 2 of Kun Costa Lukaku Ibra with a budget striker for most of the teams.

      Seriously considering dumping him.

      Here is the option.

Aguero and Capoue > Costa and De Bruyne

Its pretty stark when you look at it this way, but I have reservations about missing out on some huge Aguero haul and tumbling down the rankings as I am currently top 20k.

      1. @SirAustinDangerPowers
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

        Exactly this.

Keeping Kun is more of a safe pick to preserve your ranking once high enough.

I could do Aguero + Carrick to Austin + KdB
But will that combo fetch me more points than regularly C Aguero would.

How is that the 2 options???
Costa and De Brun are 20.8 million. Kun and Cap are 18.2

Kun and Walcott can be got for 20.8

        1. Spockazulu

          9 years, 3 months ago

Sorry, its an option for my team as I have money itb.

But, the broader point is you can get in 2 higher priced options by dumping Aguero.

Thinking about cash out on Capoue to upgrade this defense:
Valencia, Williams, Holebas, Evans, Amat - 2FT, 0 idb

    A) Williams -> Clyne
    B) Valencia -> Mustafi
    C) Capoue -> Allen and rotate with Snodgrass, defense is ok
    D) Evans to 3.9 and Williams -> Vertonghen, keep Capoue for now

My defence is currently in need of some help, and these are the two options I feel which are best:
    A) Stones to Lovren

It looks like City can't keep a CS though regardless of fixtures.

Then again Liverpool can only keep a CS against a team that doesn't attack

With 2 FTs , which would you recommend?

    Capoue & Ibra to

    A) Sanchez & Austin
    or
    B) Lallana & Costa

    Rest of attack is:

    Walcott, Antonio, Firmino
    Aguero, Lukaku

Essentially its a decision between doubling up on Liverpool or Arsenal. Arsenal's next two fixtures are swaying me that way at the moment.

Barring injuries, I've decided to just do Capoue to Fletcher this week, get some cash and roll a free transfer. Obviously tempted to drop Ibra but I don't really like any of the replacements and not that keen on getting any mids in for Sterling/Snodgrass to spend the cash. On top of that I might captain Ibra v Burnley next week. Correct decision?

    Austin - poor fixtures
Costa - 4 yellows, poor fixtures, maybe bad for baps
    Benteke - bad for baps

KDB - Would be a triple up on City
Sanchez - Prefer Theo, would captain him ahead of Sanchez anyway
Firmino/Coutinho - Already got Mane, not sure about double up
Spurs mids - Not sure who I want if any
    Arnautovic - 4 yellows

    2ft, 0 in the bank

    Heaton, Pickford
    Valenica, Williams, Holebas, Evans, Amat
    Mane, Sterling, Walcott, Snodgrass, Capoue

Just to add I would probably do Ibra + Snodgrass to Sanchez + Austin but I'm 0.7m short!

On its own that doesn't look good for next few games, would need to spend the rest of the cash next week by upgrading Snodgrass probably - would leave 8.4m for that spot

Seems like people already forgot about Son. Exploit that 🙂
Surely Son or Coutinho/Lallana/Firmino (Mane a bit to expensive compared with this lot) for me.

What do you do when Aguero and Walcott get injured tomorrow?

Probably what most other Aguero Walcott owners would be forced to do. Take a hit

Does anybody know anything about Sir Leighton? Is he fit? will he get his spot back from Oviedo? Its been very quiet about him.

Leighton Baines is a doubt for the trip to Burnley after suffering a setback in his recovery from hamstring injury. #EFC [Echo]

I was tempted to keep him too before last GW. Got rid. Got VVD as a one GW punt. Failed (should've got Smith or Cameron)

Liverppol got so nice fixtures now. Matip has scored quite a few goals in BL. So I'm thinking VVD to him, and same would have been the case if I still had Baines.

Cameron is goal imminent kind of. Bargain at 4.4 and overlooked. One of those two it is. Thoughts?

    Foster, Pickford
    Vertonghen, Williams, Holebas, Evans, Amat
    Sanchez, Sterling, Antonio, Snodgrass, Capoue
    Aguero, Costa, Lukaku

    1FT, 0.0 in bank

Quite a few changes needed to my team (esp. midfield & defence). Where to start?

    1. Foster -> Heaton
    2. Evans -> Francis
    3. Antonio -> Lallana
    4. Save FT.

I like 3, but Antonio isn't suddently bad. I would keep for one GW (I got Payet, and I'm keeping him). Your Mid and Att is very solid IMO. Foster to Grant perhaps? And use those money to upgrade Evans later on (Lovren/Pieters/Cameron) is my thought on this one.
