Suspensions

West Brom’s Jonny Evans became the latest player to topple from the Suspension Tightrope after earning a booking in Saturday’s 1-1 home draw against Spurs.

Sitting in 8.4% of Fantasy Premier League teams, the Baggies centre-half picked up his fifth caution in the first eight Gameweeks and will now serve a one-match ban away to Liverpool next time out.

There are now nine players sitting just one yellow card short of a suspension.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa remains the main point of concern for Fantasy managers.

Having risen to joint-top of the FPL standings with a seventh goal of the season in Saturday lunchtime’s 3-0 win over Leicester, the Blues’ frontman has been subject to 52,000+ transfers in and now sits in 24.1% of sides ahead of a visit from Jose Mourinho’s Man United on Sunday.

The sceptics amongst us will suggest that Antonio Conte must surely be aware that a booking against the Red Devils would then allow Costa to serve out his suspension in the midweek EFL Cup clash with West Ham.

With that in mind, they’d be no real surprise to see Costa incur the referee’s wrath once again this weekend.

Elsewhere, Watford’s weekend goal hero Jose Holebas, along with Jordan Henderson, Ryan Shawcross and Claudio Yacob also remain on four cautions after successfully navigating Gameweek 8 without incident.

Holebas is the most transferred in defender in the Gameweek after his 15-point haul away to ‘Boro on Sunday but would-be suitors need to be aware that, due to defeat at home to Gillingham in late August, the Hornets are no longer involved in the EFL Cup.

Any booking Holebas therefore receives prior to the cut-off point in Gameweek 19 will ensure he misses Premier League duties.

That quintet are joined by Robert Huth, Marouane Fellaini, Gaston Ramirez and Marko Arnautovic on four yellows apiece after all four were cautioned in the previous round of fixtures.

In terms of new suspensions, Aaron Cresswell will now miss West Ham’s home clash with Middlesbrough after an eventful first appearance of the season.

Finally recovered from a knee injury, the defender was utilised as a wing-back at Selhurst Park and supplied the assist for Manuel Lanzini’s winner. Two quick second-half bookings resulted in a sending off and one-match ban.

Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka is set to start a three-match suspension after being sent off for a reckless lunge on Swansea winger Mo Barrow on Saturday.

Incredibly, that was the Swiss international’s eighth dismissal in just two-and-a-half years, meaning he will miss Gameweeks 9-10 in addition to an EFL Cup encounter with Reading.

They join Andre Gray on the sidelines, with the Burnley striker set to serve out the last of a four-fixture ban this weekend as Sean Dyche’s side welcome Everton to Turf Moor.

Surprised no one fancies Shawcross. Not much more and surely hes a good bet for a goal in the next few gameweeks?

What to change? Thinking Walcott, austin firminho for
    Sanchez lukaku and barry?

    Grant / Jak

    Smith Lowton Holebas Amat Mcauley

    Sanchez sterling son capoue barry

    Aguerro costa lukaku

Not a bad squad. Bench barry - strengthen defence maybe?
Sanchez & lukaku have as good, if not better, a chance of scoring as Walcott & austin this GW. But you want LIV right? If so, go for it.

I would sitch Ospina to the PSG keeper (4.5) and get an Arsenal def in for Glik. I am also not sure Kimmich is a sure starter. Would also want another Real Madrid attacking player since they should destroy Legia. Rest looks good!

      Thoughts on my team below?

      Areola - Semper
      Telles - Marcelo - Koscielny - Hummels - Savic
Kroos - Andre Silva - Carrasco - Iwobi - Matuidi
      CR7 - Messi - Walcott

If you have no trades up your sleeve it's a great team to save. Too much money in defense. Clean sheets hard to come by this year.

I scored the bulk of my 57 points this week from defense. 27 of them in fact. 41 if you count in my goalie.

I believe you should always have a well balanced squad. I like his team

        Thanks!

I agree, Liverpool do have good fixtures. So this is definitely only a short term swap (2 GWs max)

Here are my reasons for the swap though (short term/2 GW only):
        - Mid/Sun seem better than West Brom/Crystal Palace over the next 2 GWs
        - This season, the Liverpool midfield has been notoriously impossible to pen down whereas Arsenal seem to be set on Walcott/Sanchez. It's a russian roulette at Liverpool though and I can only sense heartbreak eitherway
        - If i get Walcott before the potential double price rise he's going to have before next GW, it leaves me with some crucial moolah and hence flexibility to plan ahead - when i eventually sell him

Does this make any sense whatsoever?

Hahaha, I do want to keep him in - at no time do i think he's not going to give me points.

Just felt that for the next 2 GWs, Mid/Sun vs WBA/Crystal - i would think Arsenal have a better shot at scoring (and it's certainly going to be Sanchez/Walcott for them). Plus, with Liverpool, there's just NO way of knowing who will give the points. I'm willing to bet it'll be Henderson in GW9, just to make things interesting 🙂

I'm going to copy the below to all your replies - not sure how else to ensure you all see this (still learning, still a noob)

I agree, having Lallana along with Sterling and Sanchez gives me proper cover for the most dangerous/probable to score teams

Also, do you really think dropping Sterling is a good idea, especially considering the form he's in? I was thinking unless there's an injury, he could be a permanent fixture and a cheaper/equally viable option to KDB

Does this make any sense whatsoever?

Fixtures Schmixtures. He score 10 points v Spurs whom are 'bad 'fixtures'.

        Form over fixtures, Natster.

    Sanchez - Walcott - Firmino - Lallana
Is this midfield too much for the next 2 gameweeks only?

    Arsenal - MID, sun
    Liverpool - WBA, cry

I will replace Sanchez for KDB after 2 weeks when Arsenal's fixtures stiffen.
Should I go for Lallana or someone else? My other option is Siggy.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

NOt sure to be honest, siggy has lower ownership and you can always swap to lalllana as pool have great fixtures all the way till Xmas. So siggy, but lalllana is still a very good option

Siggy is going to find some serious form soon I think. Arsenal will do well this year and would be silly to go KDB over Sanchez.

Yes but I'm not going to double up Arsenal all season. City has better fixtures GW11 onwards. I will keep Walcott as he is better value and replace Sanchez with KDB as he could be one of the mids to cross 200 points this year.

Need some help to pick the budget please.

Thanks. Grant is too short-term, I guess.

Austin will get price rise, but Wilson has better fixtures. A bit difficult to choose.

Anyway, I feel Austin probably has better support behind him.

Costa will intentionally get a booking aginst UTD, for sure.
Read this well: The sceptics amongst us will suggest that Antonio Conte must surely be aware that a booking against the Red Devils would then allow Costa to serve out his suspension in the midweek EFL Cup clash with West Ham.

Sterling to Wally now or Friday for free????????????

Walcotts looking to rise tonight and I'm not sure if it's worth losing out on 0.1 by waiting till after the midweek games.
