It’s time to delve into the Gameweek 8 Opta data now, in our first member’s article of the week. A host of midfielders jostle for our attention, as we check in on Southampton, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Stoke’s top performers.

Anyone a little concerned about Walcott starting tonight? He plays again in 3 days and he's never been the most robust. Chance of being rested this weekend maybe?
-
Not really. He hasn't looked like he needed resting.
-
He'll have a week rest after.

Help please , many options & tricky decisions -
Bottomed. What to do?
Semper (Oblak coming in)
Fuchs (5) - Dani Alves (6) - Coates (1) - Guerreiro
Saul - Iwobi - Mahrez (8) - Otavio (5)
Ronaldo (14) - Aguero
Bench: Grimaldo, Kimmich, Suarez.
I definitely need a replacement for Guerreiro. Iwobi is on the bench. Aguero too. Assuming all of my bench are named as starters, is there a point in hoping either Iwobi or Aguero come good off their respective benches or should I just do Aguero > Suarez, Guerreiro > Grimaldo and Iwobi > Kimmich? And what of Ronaldo? Stick with (c) or pin it on Suarez, Kimmich or Saul and hope for the best?-
Saul is not starting either. I would sub Guerreiro, Iwobi and Saul and leave Kun in. Captaincy is a coin toss.
-
this
-
-
Saul > Suarez , G >G , Iwobi > Kimmich
Stick with C -
I am OK with gambling Coates's point. Question is whom do I do it for, Saul or Iwobi?
-
Iwobi
-
Yeppers. Home vs. away always wins out.
-
-
-
-
With Xhaka banned in the PL, I would've thought he would start tonight, if only to safeguard Coq a bit more. Especially as he has only just returned from injury.
-
Iwobi in nbench. u think he might get significant time off bench or keep a 2pter from defender?
-
Building up match fitness?
-
-
Kun looks out of favour. Kun > Dio for a hit?
-
Sounds good
-
Wait to see the reason
-
It's the formation. No recognised striker. Trying to boss the midfield.
-
-
Ready to go for the weekend?
Cech (H MID)
Lovren (H WBA) Williams (A BUR) Pieters (A HUL)
Sanchez (H MID) Walcott (H MID) Firmino (H WBA) Antonio (H SUN)
Aguero (H SOU) Lukaku (A BUR) Deeney (A SWA)
Bench: Pickford (A WHU) Amat (H WAT) Fletcher (A LIV) Smith (H TOT)
Thinking Antonio (H SUN) to Siggy (H WAT) since Cresswell Byram and Masuaku are all not available this weekend, which probably confirms Antonio starting in defence again-
Man U, Everton and Spurs in the next 6 though.
-
They have scored against City, Pool and Arsenal though, looking better and better attacking wise
-
-
That's what I have done JAKS! Have a positive feeling about Swansea hitting form 🙂
-
-
Grant
Holebas amat smith
Sanchez sterling son capoue
Costa lukaku aguerro
Thinking -4 with sterling for walcott or firminho??? -
CL:
1 keep 2 pts from Felipe
2 play Talisca and hope he gets some gametime, since he is bench -
Apart from the penalty he conceded, how has Snodgrass looked recently? Has he been much of a goal threat?
-
Areola
Marcelo 5 Pareja 5
A.Silva 7 Ascensio 7
Ronaldo 7
Pick 5 players from this lot to start ( feel free to change a 5 points player )
Carrasco Savic Hummels Robben Koscielny Walcott Ozil -
For those who don't know, City vs Barca is free to watch on BT Sport 2 tonight.
-
The thing with Kun being dropped is if it was tactical Pep surely would have already decided this before the game against Everton and therefore would have been able to play Aguero against the Toffee's.
It seems as though there is more to this than just tactical and maybe he has been dropped.-
It's tactical. No striker.
-
That is a good point. He is essentially not starting two games in a row. Very curious.
-
-
Bad news for aguero, not playing v barca. What an almighty shock that is and it isn't as if Pep is waving a white flag. The other key attacking players all start.
Can see Pep using this system more often this season-
It is a surprise, but they don't have any super tricky games coming up in PL anytime soon.
-
No player is untouchable under Pep.
-
This
Also I have a funny feeling he is not a massive fan of aguero
-
-
-
Kun against tired Europa-ravaged Soton defence 😎
-
who says he starts that game 😉
-
my gut. 😉
-
Are you in shape ?
-
Ziro is round. Round is a shape.
-
-
-
-
If he doesnt start this weekend hes out.
-
And if he plays and blanks?
Quandary time

Possible 3.9 playing Defender option in a few weeks
https://twitter.com/BenDinnery/status/788731555460091904-
good news, as owner
-
Good option if you're a fan of negative points
-
Good spot but bit of a stretch -- he's played once for them in his life
-
-
BT Sport freeview not working for me.. Anyone else?
-
Not at the moment.
-
Me neither, on Sky box?
-
Yep, on Sky box.
-
-
Not yet. Probably later on close to kick off
-
You'd hope, but the programme started at 7. Advertised as Freeview. It is BT though, so wouldn't be surprised if they miss the first half.
-
-
-
Tempted by Sanchez to Kdb and Kun to Costa now
:--
Both downgrades.
-
-
Remember. Pep created the current 'false. 9' Barcelona. This might be a sign of things to come.
(Though it is tempting to captain him at the weekend if there is a sign he starts).-
Are you doing the bet 365 offer City vs Barca ?
-
No. What is the offer?
-
I don't actually know why I'm asking because I don't gamble 😳
-
50 euro free bet in play
-
-
I am. Pretty easy money.
-
Het Slouch. What are you looking at? I'm tempted by KDB AGS.
-
*Hey
-
Though actually Suarez FGS would pay out about the same. hmmm
-
-
-
-
-
UCL fantasy,
Stick or twist:
Otavio (5 pts) to Kimmich
Captain: CR7 to Messi?-
haha. were in same boat. have Steffen. think keep otavio
and captain im going from cr7 to neymar s yes
-
-
CL: bench issue
1 keep 2 pts from defender
2 risk play Iwobi, he is bench today.
* Will Iwobi get any significat gametime, to risk the 2pter of Defender..?-
Keep the 2 points
-
thx
-
-
-
Scary times.
Hoping for Barcelona to thrash Manc to teach Pep a lesson about dropping Aguero.-
A thrashing would be an indictment of the defence. Nothing to do with dropping Aguero.
-
Fine, I'll settle for a Silva/KDB injury
-
Hope for a Barca CS then? Or Aguero to come on on the hour mark and score a brace including a penalty that goes in.
-
He might be off penalties now with him missing so many?
-
-
-
-
Please give me feedback on my team for GW9. Already used my FT to bring in Lallana for Antonio.
GK: Dea (Valdes)
DEF: Stones, VanDijk, Williams (Morgan, Valencia)
MID: Walcott, Sanchez, Firmino, Lallana (Redmond)
STR: Benteke, Lukaku, Wilson-
I'd play Morgan
Beast at home
-
-
MAHREZ - Son - KDB - Walcott - Firmino
WILSON/AUSTIN - Deeney - Aguero
OR
SNODGRASS - Son - KDB - Walcott - Firmino
LUKAKU - Deeney - Aguero-
The latter
But can you afford Snodsky - Milner?-
Milner as a 5th Mid...?
-
Bench him or Deeney based on fixtures & he plays if Son gets rotated
-
-
-

Ayew back in full training http://www.whufc.com/News/Articles/2016/October/19-October/From-the-Treatment-Room
-
Great news
-
You a fan?
-
-
-
CL C option:
1 keep 14 pts CR7
2 C Neymar MCI
3 C Lewan PSV-
Lewa
-
-
can anyone explain there is no aguero in city squad ?
-
He's on the bench.
My guess is that it's because he's too lazy. -
If he's not even in the squad it's a knock or a tiff
-
-
Leicester/Stoke 6 week rotation
CPL, SWA, WBA, BOU, MID, BUR
All at home, Fuchs and Pieters sets you back 9.8m.-
Or Morgan over Fuchs for .4 cheaper
-
I've got Morgan & he must be up there in the whole of FPL biggest disparity for home/away points. Might have to get Pieters in, much better than Cameron as an option?
-
-
Fuchs at home could be a juggernaut from gw11
-
-
Pick 7 players to start tonight and a captain
Marcelo ( 5 points ) Pareja ( 5 points ) Hummels Koscielny Savic
Carrasco Robben Ozil
Walcott -
De Bruyne striker?
-
No formation, switchy switchy, the art of fighting without fighting
-
-
If u had to choose between Carrasco or Mertens for CL fantasy, which one?
-
Carrasco
-
Carra
