An emphatic display by West Brom urges Fantasy managers re-assess the potential of a pair of their attacking assets while basking in the comfort of a belated clean sheet. Here’s the Stock Check following Gameweek 12’s concluding fixture…

Matt Phillips
Fantasy managers started the evening lamenting the absence of Nacer Chadli through injury but, on the evidence of recent performances, Phillip’s could well supersede him as the key target in the West Brom midfield.

His goal and assist returns this evening earned him back-to-back double figure returns and took him to two goals and four assists in his last seven Premier League starts.

Priced at 5.1 to Chadli’s 6.4, the former QPR winger looks to have the advantage as a fourth/fifth midfield option. Indeed, even when fit, Chadli’s starting role now looks to be a puzzle given West Brom’s current form.

Salomon Rondon
The Venezuelan has produced a string of impressive performances without returns as the Baggies’ lone striker but, tonight’s goal and assist brought his drought to an end.

Priced at 6.5, the Baggies frontman looks an option in this form, although on Chadli’s return, he will likely relinquish spot-kick duties which dents his appeal – along with the potential offered by Phillips.

Nonetheless, with Hull City, Watford and Swansea City in his next four Gameweeks, Rondon may tempt some short-term investors seeking a differential.

The West Brom Defence
With a combined ownership of 50%, many FPL managers benefited from a first Baggies clean sheet since Gameweek 3.

That’s a surprising statistic given the emphasis on defence by Tony Pulis. Sitting back and allowing Burnley to come onto them, tonight’s approach was typical of a West Brom side who prioritise defensive stability.

Gareth McAuley remains our weapon of choice – a menacing presence at set-pieces that warrants the extra outlay for the aforementioned fixtures. But Chris Brunt demands to be monitored and, once we can be sure of his prolonged starting role, he arguably presents even greater potential for attacking returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I wouldn't play Amat over Walker. I'd be tempted by Pieters.

Walker has SWA, mun, HUL, BUR after this week. Would be madness to drop. At least save FTs and wait until GW15 to upgrade to Alonso. I would probably look to upgrade Lovren to Alonso that week instead.

Lol, Fletcher first sub on my bench with so many doubts over Haz/Sanchez/Cout I felt at various points over the last 2 week international break that he would 'auto-sub' into my team for one of my dodgy mids, alas like Capoue before him-it's just not meant to be.

      Know what you mean.

I was pretty set on using the AOA chip as I had the suspended duo of Holebas and Smith in defence plus Amat.

But I had Coutinho as a doubt and I didn’t think he’d play so didn’t see the point in playing it. And then Capoue scores after 30secs and gets maximum bonus ha. Then Amat plays anyway but Stones doesn't feature. them the breaks!

Cannot catch a break this year. But its fun trying to fight back up, despite being frustrating as hell!

    Hazard, Coutinho, Firmino, Redmond
    Aguero, Lukaku, Deeney

Subs: Pickford, Capoue, Amat, M Wilson

    1 FT, 1.7m ITB

    Evans, Morgan, Cedric, Lovren, Amat
    Hazard, Coutinho, Walcott, Firminho, Matic
    Lukaku, Aguero, Austin

    1ft 0.1 ITB
    Thinking of doing either:
    a) Aguero, Lukaku, Matic > Defoe, Kane, Siggy. This would mean 3-5-2 over Xmas period rotating front 3.
    b) Aguero, Lukaku > Kane, Costa.
    c) Aguero, Lukaku > Kane, Defoe. Simple swap leaving £1.3m for any future moves.

    Pick / Grant

You’re still doing better than me!!

How much cash do you have? You may have to sacrifice a big hitter?

Everton look woeful at present, so you thinking of dropping Lukaku? He is nailed though and won’t be rotated at Christmas.

Maybe ditch Sanchez after this week? He’ll give you some cash to upgrade elsewhere if you are in the keep Aguero camp.

Gundogan can be downgraded to free up cash too.

Nice to see another oldie doing just as bad as me this season!

I'm honestly looking at making big changes after this GW. Kun, Sanchez, Lukaku, Fuchs (horrible bandwagon on here), Williams, Gundogan all on the chopping board. Depends on CL games, but if I save 2 FT's thinking of taking a -8 for Christmas period and hoping for a boost up OR.

Toying with Redmond > Siggy (-4).

My lesson so far though has been that switching/chasing mids is folly, snodgrass capoue Redmond score at random so need to accept and wait. He's been pretty dire though for his minutes and position...

With Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Southampton all playing at home, we have most of our players playing at home. Higher AVG score expected?

Weeks like these are so disappointing at times. I have 9 players out of 11 at home.

Anybody ever been to ethiad? Been offered tickets in south stand level 3 for the Celtic match wondering if they will be any use or in the gods?

Great view from anywhere in the stadium, so I believe - I haven't sat in every seat, of course. But the ones at the back I have been in have been great.

Great stadium for corporate do's. Rubbish atmosphere though.

Being in the Celtic away end normally fixes that.

    How does this team look?

    Hazard coutinho firmino siggy fletcher

    Kane Costa Austin

    Heaton, Pickford
    Vertonghen, Williams, Holebas, Evans, Amat
Sanchez, Coutinho, Lallana, Allen, De Roon
    Aguero, Costa, Lukaku

    1FT, 0.3 in bank

Team needs some surgery, particularly in midfield. Willing to take a hit or two this week.

Lukaku, Lallana, Allen --> Defoe/Austin, Firmino, Stanislas (-8)?

      Looks a bit drastic.

      When's Lallana due back?

I'd probably just do Lukaku + Allen > Austin + Siggy

Do you want Stanislas with those fixtures though?

I love Chris Brunt. Could easily have had a couple of assists last night. Was very involved. West Brom look to be finding form now so Im expecting some decent points for the lad to come

They were just up against a side who have a pretty good record of preventing goal attempts - so probably to be expected, really.

Faced Liverpool, Chelsea & City in last 4 matches. Got 3 goals against Burnley & Hull.

I'd take that from someone bought at 6.3. And I think he will definitely return some goals in the easier fixtures coming up.

    Pick (Jaku)
    Evans Holebas Cedric (Walker Amat)
    Hazard Sanchez Firmino Coutinho (Allen)
    Kun Lukaku (Diomande)

    1FT & £0m ITB

    a) Lukaku + Allen > Austin + Siggy
    b) Kun + Allen > Kane/Costa + Siggy
    c) Kun + Lukaku > Costa + Kane (£1.1m ITB to upgrade Allen and/or Pickford etc) (means playing Walker/Diomande)
    d) Lukaku > Austin (money ITB to upgrade elsewhere next week) (means playing Walker/Diomande)
    e) Save FT and do a 3 way transfer next week.

I am stuck with Allen , Gundogan and Shaw before this GW.
    Rest of my team :

    Pickford,Foster
    McAuley,Shaw,Lovren,Holebas,Amat
    Hazard,Firmino,Coutinho,Gundogan,Allen
    Kun,Austin,Costa

a)Allen -> fletcher just to enable funds for Shaw -> Alonso
    b)Allen -> fletcher and Gundogan -> Snodgrass?
    c) any other option

    0.3 ITB, 1FT.

      C) Save. Allen can sit on your bench this week. I'd do A) or B) next week for free

Hi guys, setting up for gameweek 13 for a draft game with this side....

    Cech

    Cedric-Valencia-Alonso

    Pedro-Can-Antonio-Yaya Toure

    Kane-Anichebe-Mbokani

    Bench: Vertonghen-Coleman-Defour-Lallana-Carroll

Any changes you think I should make and captaincy pick would be a great help...

    Thanks

Yes-it looks to be that way. Adrian seems to have lost confidence and has had some serious howlers.

So, already did Lukaku & Boruc ---> Kane & Pickford for a -4.

As Allen is banned I now only have 3 playing mids for this weekend..

Is it worth transferring out Allen for Pickford based on his recent performances and fixtures over the next 4 games?

My team for the weekend is:

    Foster
    Amat, Holebas, Mcauley, Morgan
    Firmino, Coutinho, Hazard
    Kane Aguero Costa
