Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with a short-term ankle problem. Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi is sidelined due to a hamstring injury, whilst Emre Can is still doubtful for Liverpool’s trip to the Riverside.

Shkodran Mustafi is out for three weeks with the hamstring problem that forced him off during Arsenal’s weekend win over Stoke. Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a similar complaint for this evening’s trip to Everton.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with an ankle problem, though Jose Mourinho expects the Armenian international’s absence to be short term. Antonio Valencia is suspended after falling off the Suspension Tightrope with his fifth yellow of the season against Spurs.

Emre Can remains a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Middlesbrough, though is expected to return in time for next week’s Merseyside derby with Everton at the latest. Jurgen Klopp remains uncertain as to whether Dejan Lovren is available, after the defender was forced off with cramp against West Ham on Sunday.

Junior Stanislas and Andrew Surman will remain unavailable for Bournemouth’s clash with Leicester, Eddie Howe conceded yesterday.

Craig Dawson is suspended for West Brom’s home clash with Swansea after earning a fifth caution of the season during Sunday’s loss at Chelsea.

Marc Muniesa and Glen Johnson are rated as slight doubts for Stoke’s clash with Southampton. Jon Walters and Ryan Shawcross are back in training, with the former more likely to be available.

Charlie Austin is set to stay on the sidelines for around three-to-four months with shoulder ligament damage sustained on Europa League duties last Thursday.

Younes Kaboul is back in training and will be assessed ahead of Watford’s trip to Man City. Valon Behrami is a slight doubt due to illness, though Roberto Pereyra is available, having served a one-match suspension.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Tuesday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

    Gw16 firm + holebas > Antonio + Alonso 0.2ITB
    Gw17 Evans > Jones
Jones isn't that risky if I wouldn't have played Evans? and I have
    Chambers, cedric + Amat
    Good moves?

I've seen some clubs doing it, but I'll never understand keeping one of your CBs back at corners...The CBs are very likely your best players in the air, along with your tall striker if you have one, but are probably not as good with the ball in their feet. Why not send them all forward at corners rather than keep them back, when they should've been winning headers and are instead dangerously pressed in case of a rebound, givent they're awkward with the ball in ther feet?

    1. Parm

I think it's a risk/reward tactic depending on the current result and match situation but I don't see why both full-backs aren't staying back given they're usually around 5'8 unless they play for Pulis.

    2. Dr Dream
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

Always the FB's withdrawn at corners for me and my team. Assuming they're quick, and they need to be these days, I have no understanding why they don't do that.

I notice Walker does it a lot for Spurs. He's perfect for that job.

      1. Pariße
        • 11 Years

The full backs are indeed perfect for the job...but why is Vertonghen not going up for corners?

If you are playing with 4 at the back defo send up your best cb for the set piece
But if you only play 3 at the back like a lot of teams do now this might not be so wise
