Fantasy managers are treated to the remaining eight matches of Gameweek 16 this Wednesday evening, with a trio of
encounters getting underway at 7.45pm.

Sadio Mane and Divock Origi are the form men as Liverpool look for a first win in three at the Riverside. Roberto Firmino arrives on the back of four straight blanks and was second only to Charlie Austin for transfers out in the Gameweek.

With Eden Hazard absent, the stage is set for Diego Costa as Chelsea visit Sunderland. The Blues frontman was the most captained player in Fantasy Premier League for Gameweek 16, with 23% handing him the armband.

West Ham embark on the first of three very favourable fixtures, with Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio on our radars for the visit of Burnley.

In the 8pm matches, all eyes will be on Captain Poll winner Harry Kane as Spurs welcome Hull to White Hart Lane. We’ll also be monitoring Scout Picks duo Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen against the struggling Tigers.

In-form pair Christian Benteke and Zlatan Ibrahimovic go head-to-head as Palace welcome United to Selhurst Park. With returns in six of the last seven, Wilfried Zaha was the most transferred in player for Gameweek 16.

With Sergio Aguero suspended, faith in Man City has dwindled ahead of what should be a plum home clash against Watford. Kevin De Bruyne is the man most likely as the Etihad side look to recover from back-to-back defeats.

We’re also keeping a keen eye on Differential Sofiane Boufal as Southampton head to Stoke. Having bagged the winner at home to ‘Boro, the Moroccan could be set to step up in the absence of Charlie Austin, promoting his prospects as a mid-price midfield candidate ahead of some fine fixtures.

West Brom have their work cut out to stop Gylfi Sigurdsson as Swansea make their way to the Hawthorns.

The Swans’ playmaker has racked up four goals and as many assists in eight appearances under Bob Bradley and faces a defence with one clean sheet in the last 12 Gameweeks.

Matt Phillips and Salomon Rondon also have the chance to maintain momentum tonight – Swansea have conceded 12 goals in four road trips since their new manager was installed.

Ballsy but Brunt was my 4th highest scoring player.

Captained Kane so you point is valid. 🙂

        Even so it's really impressive!

The Brunt captaincy however is one of the less impressive things about it for me, I thought it was quite clear he could have a good gameweek.

Yeah and they almost got the CS as well.

Of course getting 150+ points in a GW is impressive.

But if you can pick a new set of 15 players each week and play BB, I think you will at some point hit a good score.

Personally I don't see the fun in it, but by all means let people do it.

A poser for a draft league final in gwk 19. With Coutinho potentially back, take a gamble amd bring him in for Can? I have Lallana.

    GTG?

    Pickford
    Alonso Jones Cedric
    Hazard Sanchez Eriksen Siggy
    (K)ane Costa Nacho

    Heaton deRoon Brunt Amat

    0.1 ITB, 0FT

Not sure on whether to get rid of Nacho for a hit, if I did it would probably be for Carroll with upcoming fixtures against Hull and Swansea.

Damn I want Van Dijk so bad Only way to fund him is by also getting one of:
    A) Nyom - AFCON dilema (& have Brunt)
    B) Martina - Cedric dilema
    C) Robertson - conceding goals dilema

What's the least awful purchase you see there?

TM - Our similar teams have passed each other in OR again. 🙂 Walker and Heaton the difference for me this week; -8 that involved Heaton FINALLY returns something.

To your question on the previous page, I'd ship out Nacho or Evans depending on injury. COuld save as well and prep for United (SUN) in GW18 .

    Perspective.
After a strongish start I've been free falling. Just did a little diagnostic on my team.
I've been punished badly for two bad decisions this season.
Drunken last minute change from lukaku/benteke to kane/gray on wc gw4. cost me 27 points and left me with a crocked and banned strikers, within 2 gameweeks.
Hazard to Alexis, total fear move. Initial decision looking forward 3 weeks was Alexis with two awesome fixtures and seemingly mastered the top role will outscore hazard over next 3, haz was in great form but has never convinced me as an explosive player or a player that can deliver in tough away games. Started thinking about stats (not my style) and price changes (ditto). Recency bias and confirmation bias from the community took over. 56 points damage within 3 gameweeks.
2 calls. Both went against my initial thought. Both felt like a mistake at the time. Drunk champ and emotional champ triumphed over rational champ. Apparently this angered the fpl gods. They were as ruthless and brutal in their response as possible.
83 points docked from my ledger. The difference: 30k/470k.
This tells me A)Learn the lesson, play rationally and logically. B)I need a baby to sacrifice to the gods. C) I'm not playing badly overall. Just made 2 very bad decisions.

Not having Costa in earlier could have been a huge mistake as well? see that you normally favour a 3-4-3...would it be better to switch it to 3-5-2 seeing that mids are scoring more this year and the lack of striker options in the mid-bracket prices?...

      1. Get up ya bum
        • 16 Years
        9 years, 1 month ago

That's less clear cut. Him and Lukaku. While I didn't have them I managed to counter a decent chunk of their points with expensive mids, austin, benteke. Then there was the costa yellow factor.
Definite mistakes in there but I'm fine with those calls. I was just wrong. That will always happen. The 2 calls in op were weak management on my part.
3-5-2 definitely an option. I don't know that it matters much. Benteke better than any mid at his price imo

    Going Sanchezless?
Is there anybody else on here that hasn't owned Sanchez all season?
It's scary stuff but I feel that I cannot get him now as he's just gone too expensive. It hasn't hurt me too much thus far (or 100k) but with ARS upcoming fix...

He would be my first pick on the team sheet at this point.

Excellent fixtures, excellent form, goalscoring team, OOP.

I am in a similar situation with Costa, so I get why you are reluctant to get him in, but at some point I think you need to surrender and get him in.

      1. jia you

This upcoming run of fix does worry me, perhaps I will need to surrender alright! 😉
See above, I suppose I could do Payet + Walcott to Sanchez + another in a couple of GWs

        1. Licious Lizard
          • 13 Years
          9 years, 1 month ago

I would do that tbh. Walcott has been looking horrendous lately and I think you will need to get in Sanchez for their run of fixtures.
12 goals and 6 assist in 16 games for a player listed as a midfielder.
Also most people have gotten him in around 11.2-11.4 wish, so not paying that much more for him than others. If I were to get in Costa now, I would be paying at least 1m more for him than a lot of other players.

There's a possibility that Kelechi may play this weekend, since Nolito just played two on a row. But you'll want him out eventually. I'd probably shift Pedro this week for Lallana if you can. Snod can cover for Kelechi.

More importantly because of this, “I decided on the central defenders yesterday and Kelechi had a little problem yesterday so he started on the bench, nothing more.”

Yeah, maybe Kelechi is the bigger issue. Llorente has some decent fixtures coming

FPL says Smalling will be fit by the weekend. Any idea how valid that is?

    Choose a replacement for Nacho:

    A) Origi

What are the chances Origi actually keeps his place when Coutinho comes back? His goals are giving Klopp a decision to make

I feel like Firmino will find himself on the flank, Origi central, and others will make way, especially as Mané will be leaving for Afcon right when Coutinho returns.

Good point about Mane. So maybe it's not too late to get Origi then?

Any chance Sturridge gets a look in? Don't laugh
