Dugout Discussion – West Brom vs Man United

Saturday’s action concludes at the Hawthorns where Manchester United drop in on an in-form West Bromwich Albion.

The Fantasy attention will be split here, with United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic owned by 28.4% and captained by 13% up against a popular West Brom rearguard.

While Tony Pulis’ defence has kept just a single clean sheet in 13, the likes of Gareth McAuley and Craig Dawson offer a big threat from set-pieces, while Chris Brunt’s delivery could be vital.

Brunt provided a pair of assists in the midweek victory over Swansea City from left-back but is pushed forward into a midfield role this evening as Dawson returns from suspension, shifting Allan Nyom to left-back.

Significantly, almost 500,000 of McAuley’s 1.2 million owners keep him on the bench for this one – 360,000 of Foster’s 664,000 ownership do the same with the Baggies keeper.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Should be back as he's club captain but Fabio has looked really good. Maybe Friend to switch to left back and Fabio to right back?
      Personally I'd go for Gibson or Chambers if you have the funds.

    Not overly loving 1. Getting Amat in would at least have provided another benching option...
    2 quite like this in one sense. Not sure eriksen will sustain form, and Walcott has some juicy fixtures. Should at least keep up with eriksen output providing he plays.
    3. Walker to Valencia seems good short term, but I started out with walker planning to keep him for the season. Kinda rather keep him than either eriksen or Kane in a way...
    4. Mane's going to have to go at some point...just not sure it's this week I want to shift.

      Thought that a few times puts pressure on you to make early transfers.Ive done a few and regretted them by the end of the week.Early transfers and hits seem to be the way this season,my heads frazzled and we arent even half way through the season yet....

    Evening all, need some FPL counselling, moves not paid off at all past couple of weeks and slipping down the ranks. Have finished 4th (80k), 2nd (27k), 2nd (19k) in my cash ML the 3 years I have been playing this game and started reading/posting on here first time this year.

    Can't seem to get it right at the moment and Payet C failed dismally, currently on 26 points with an overall rank of 168k. Team is as below, any advice to help me climb to glory in my ML would be greatly appreciated.

    Heaton (Robo)

    Alonso, Pieters, Janmaat, Amat, Cedric

    Hazard, Sanchez, Payet, Siggy, Capoue

    Kane, Costa, Carroll

    .1 itb & 1ft

    Am .1 short of Kane to Ibra, which, given the fixtures, makes sense to me regardless of how Kane performs tomorrow.

    It seems everyone is jumping on the Ibrahimavic wagon in place of Costa. surely at 35 Mourinho will give him a rest at some stage. Could it be the next game or two?

    Chelsea are no longer blowing teams away and scoring loads of goals and are now settling for 1-0 wins (the Italian way). Conte recently said 3-4-3 has lost its fear factor and teams are finding them out. Have Chelsea really lost a bit of their clinical edge or are they just conserving energy as they are experiencing a tight schedule for the first time this season? At the moment, having both Costa and Hazard seems overkill. Chelsea do have 2 games next but Costa is banned for one of them. Ibra has 2 home games too and has exploded to life. I won't be selling Hazard now for sure but Costa -> Ibra will be a very popular move this week. What are owners doing with Chelsea assets?

      I agree and just sold Costa for Ibra. I now have slots for a Chelsea defender next week if need be. I think we will see a lot of 1-0 games against weaker teams.

        If you are just getting Chelsea defenders now, I'd hold. They have 2 home matches in a row but after that they have a series of terrible fixtures. It will be a short term move if you do it.

      I'm a big Ibra fan, so this was very easy for me (Costa to Ibra). But i'm keeping Hazard and Alonso for the time being.

      Keeping both Costa and Hazard, Kane > Ibra, due to budget reasons. Also means don't have to fanny about getting Costa back in.

      Then will assess Hazard post Bou. Having said that the Xmas period might not be the best time to asses players as games come thick and fast.

          Out of Kane, Ibra, Costa, Aguero and Sanchez (OoP forward). Sanchez and Costa offer the most value, in terms of consistency and Sanchez goals/performances worth more points/BAPS.

          Then the way my team is set up, its a case of picking another 1 out of the remaining pool and at this moment in time Ibra is one I'm going for. Of course its a fluid situation, but finally Ibra is getting the goals his stats said he should get.

      Im not selling costa as it would cost me extra 0.3 to buy him back & i cant afford that!
      Did kane to ibra & keep costa on the bench!
      If i sell anyone in the future it would be hazard but im willing to be patient since the last time i sold him he went on scoring spree. I also sold sanchez just before he went on a scoring spree so im prepared to be patient
