After Everton’s 4-0 hammering of Man City at Goodison, we head over to Old Trafford for the final match of Gameweek 21.

As expected, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from illness to take his place in the Man United starting XI against Liverpool.

The most captained player for this round of fixtures, United’s frontman has been handed the armband by over 18% of Fantasy Premier League managers on the back of nine goals and four assists in his last nine league outings.

With the schedule smiling kindly on Jose Mourinho’s men from next week onwards, Paul Pogba – with two goals and a pair of assists in five – has the chance to stake a claim for a place in our five-man midfields.

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, opts against starting Philippe Coutinho for the first time since Gameweek 13 and names the fit-again playmaker on the bench instead.

Recovered from an ankle injury, the Brazilian is second only to Dele Alli for transfers in for midfielders since yesterday’s deadline passed, rising in price to 8.3 overnight.

With a plum home clash against Swansea up next, we’re keeping a keen eye on the Reds’ main men, with Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino handed the wide roles on either side of Divock Origi as Daniel Sturridge warms the bench along with Coutinho.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I'd have taken a blank from Ibra if United had won, but I suppose I'll come away happy with a post-WC 85. Only PVA blanked, Giroud next lowest scorer. Probably the most balanced lineup I have ever had. Now time for my 25 pt GW next time round 😀

    Bottomed 🙁

    With this team:

    Heaton - Robinson
    Alonso - Valencia - Brunt - Friend - Aké
    Sánchez - Alli - Lallana - Phillips - Capoue
    Zlatan - Kane - Defoe

2 FTs and 0.1m in the bank.

Should I just get in Jakupovic for Heaton to be ready for Heaton's (and Robinson's) probable blank that is coming up in a while? I feel like this is the only time where I actually will have the chance to make this move.

OR, should I just address Aké at once? I guess it is very unlikely he will get any game time?

He's obviously had a lot of success but at both Bayern and Barcelona many of the players he had available were the top players in the league. The only one he has at City (Aguero, imo) is being badly mismanaged by Pep.

        Disagree.

Good managers work with what they've got.

Klopp took over a slightly ropey Brendan Rodgers Liverpool team just over a year ago, instant results, cup finals galore, league contenders!

Pep's taken over a similarly slightly ropey City team but had WAY more money to spend. Nothing like the same trajectory for City...they're heading downwards.

        Klopps gets it

        Pep does not

        • 11 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

Ha, how can you say definitely? Based on what? What did his defenders have to do with not scoring against Everton?

His decision to drop Hart for Bravo was a joke, his formations are a joke, the positions he puts players in is a joke, his press conferences and attitude are jokes. He shouldn't need to buy himself a good team, that's not being a good manager. The managers job is to get his players to perform, or teach them how to for players like Stones who aren't good enough yet.

Any decent manager would have had a solid chance of winning with Barcelona or Bayern at the times he had them.

Surely you can't say the offside didn't matter. The ball would have been guaranteed clear and there wouldn't have been a goal, end of story. They didn't have a chance when the ball fell perfectly to Valencia who had the simplest of passes to Ibra for a tap in. Maybe they could have done better, but that's not what rules are for.

No i'm not saying it doesn't matter of course not but that's the way the cookie crumbles.. it would have been guaranteed cleared until our next wave of attack the game was going one way and i'm sure you and the majority ofLiverpool fans aswell as myself were thinking to themselves as the game went on and United poured forward that an equaliser is imminent.. it's unfortunate we are talking about another ropey decision but we have had many go against us over the season too..

That all sounds reasonable to me. I agree with the 1-1 as a neutral, seems fair overall. It's a shame there are so many poor decisions, but we can't be upset with a lot of them given the stress on the refs and pace of the game. I wouldn't mind using video technology, but it would require a really good implementation system: like they managed with goal line technology. Unfortunately it's not as simple with these 'other' decisions. For now it just has to be part of the game, we win some we lose some.

    Heaton (Grant)
Rose | Brunt | Friend (PVA, Lenihan)
    Sanchez | Alli | Eriksen | Stanislas | Phillips
    Defoe | Ibra (Giroud)

1a. If Giroud recovers, whom to bench?
1b. If he doesn't, good to go or drop him for..? And same question from 1a then.
    2. Which GK to play? Currently on Heaton for saves if nothing else.

Is Aguero finished from an fpl point. With Ibra, Kane, Costa and lukaku being so consistent this yea and also cheaper is it time to forget him

I'd say yes. He is no longer the 100% default preferred option and MC are struggling a bit. I'd stay off him for now and invest elsewhere.

I deemed him finished as an FPL prospect before his ban and somehow he's gotten worse, not better, which given his talent takes some doing.

In a bit of a dilemma. What do you guys think is the best option:

    A) Gray/ Siggy > Lukaku/ Stanislas
    B) Smith/Siggy > Baines/ Pedro.

    Leaning more towards A.

    What are Costa owners doing??
I'm gonna have to either swap for lukaku or take a hit to get Kane in.
    Has to be
A)Daniels out for a 4.7 or less defender
    B) nyom out for a non playing 3.9 defender
    C) downgrade Defoe.

Although B won't work if Costa drops and Kane rises again

    Wat would ye do?

Nice starting 11. I wouldn't be too confident with Giroud - in some games (if too many players are not injured) he could be benched
