Manolo Gabbiadini is sidelined for Southampton’s home clash against Bournemouth. Michail Antonio is ruled out of West Ham United’s trip to Hull City, while Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli will be assessed ahead of West Bromwich Albion’s match at Manchester United.

Southampton will be without Manolo Gabbiadini for the home clash against Bournemouth, with the Italian international sidelined due to a groin injury. Claude Puel also revealed that Maya Yoshida will be assessed after a long-haul flight back from Japan, while there is bad news on Virgil van Dijk, with the defender unlikely to return this season.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that Ryan Fraser is “touch and go” for the trip to Southampton due to a hamstring issue. The winger has trained this week, though.

Arsenal will be without Petr Cech and Lucas Perez for the home encounter against Manchester City. Cech, who is also set to miss the West Ham United match on Wednesday, is out with a calf injury, while Perez is sidelined due to a thigh problem. Mesut Ozil featured for Germany over the international break and is set to come into contention for a recall.

Slaven Bilic is without Winston Reid, Michail Antonio and Pedro Obiang for the trip to the KCOM Stadium. Antonio’s hamstring injury isn’t as bad as first feared, though, and he could be fit for Wednesday night’s match against Arsenal. Mark Noble is back in training and available for the Hammers.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera are both still suspended ahead of Manchester United’s home clash with West Bromwich Albion, while Paul Pogba, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are expected to be ruled out.

Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli both need to be assessed ahead of West Bromwich Albion’s trip to Old Trafford. Rondon is only returning to the club today following a long-haul flight from South America, while Chadli picked up a shoulder injury while away on international duty with Belgium. Matt Phillips is expected to miss out once again due to a hamstring injury.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche revealed that Johann Berg Gudmundsson isn’t quite ready to return from a knee injury, with the Iceland international set to start training at the start of next week.

Vincent Janssen will be assessed ahead of Spurs’ trip to Turf Moor, having been struck down with a chest infection over the international break.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement will have Martin Olsson and Kyle Naughton available again for the home clash against Middlesbrough, with the pair recovering from hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.

Xherdan Shaqiri is set to miss out for Stoke City ahead of the trip to Leicester City. The Swiss international has had a setback with his calf tissue, after representing his country during the international break.

Sunderland manager David Moyes was able to deliver good news on Lamine Kone and John O’Shea ahead of the trip to Watford. Kone missed the goalless draw against Burnley with a twisted knee, but has returned to training this week, and is set to start. O’Shea, meanwhile, is expected to be available after suffering a shin injury while on international duty. Lee Cattermole and Victor Anichebe are closing in on first-team returns, but the trip to Vicarage Road is likely to come too soon for the pair. Bryan Oviedo and Sebastian Larsson have returned from international duty with no issues.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

What are people's thoughts on prolonging the Wildcard as late as possible in place of big hits? I'm considering a -16 over the next couple gameweeks (-8 this weekend, and again before the midweek games) to sort out deadweight and bring in players like Sanchez and Spurs.

    1. greghammer95
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 5 days ago

I have a rough team to and it's almost worth seeing HOW bad your team is really. I'm taking -8 over the next two weeks and making do with some poorer players BUT they do have some nice fixtures (Grosicki for example).

Make sure the moves are neccesary and think actually, say you own two liverpool mids and neither Alli or Eriksen, is this that bad over the next few? No Kane banging goals in will naturally decrease productivity although Alli on pens obviously and Liverpool in a derby game, could easily be goals then vs Bournemouth is anyone's guess. Mine would be that there WILL be goals.

      1. Elijah's Wood
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 5 days ago

Exactly what im thinking, i see the WC as a backup/safety plan which allows me to take punts and if all else fails then i can sort it out later after GW34.

As you say, i would be coming into this weekend's games with double Liverpool mids and no Spurs, my -8 this week would be to change Coutinho and Evans for Alli and Ben Davies, sorting out my double WBA defence deadweight in favour of longer term players (Davies could be). Also allows me to keep Mane for BOU and switch out my 3rd mid Lanzini for Sanchez midweek for another -8

    2. Snevitz
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 16 Years

And then what will you change using your WC? Why not just use it now and take points hits if you need to later?

      1. Elijah's Wood
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 5 days ago

Using my WC as a safety net because if i were to screw up my team on a WC then it will be season ending. Also dont think now is a great time to WC, i plan on bringing in DGW players for 34 and then WCing after

Well I would WC now and if you have to spend -24 in GW37 preparing for BB. You will probably not need the -24.

      1. Elijah's Wood
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 5 days ago

I just think that most people's team consist of a cheap 5th defender and midfielder as fodder. My outlook is that if you were to WC now you could spread the cash around too much as ideally you would want a strong bench for your BB.

Spending hits now seems ideal to field a strong starting 11 with your bench fodder until WC GW 36 in prep for BB GW37

    Jaku
    Alonso Fuchs Walker
    Mane Siggy Pedro Firmino
    Llorente Vardy Lukaku

    Thoughts on:

    c) King/Llorente > Sanchez/Barnes

    B & C mean losing my 2 ft.
