The penultimate fixture of the packed festive schedule gets underway at 7.45pm as Arsenal and Chelsea go head-to-head at the Emirates.

For the hosts, Alexis Sanchez has upped his output in recent weeks – after a slow start to the season, last term’s top scoring player in Fantasy Premier League has delivered points in seven of his last 10 league appearances.

That form suggest that the Chilean is likely to pose the main danger to a defence that’s conceded just four times in their previous 11.

Nonetheless, it’s Alexandre Lacazette who is the Gunners’ most captained player for Gameweek 22, handed the armband by 2.02%.

The Frenchman has been a consistent source of points at home, producing a goal or assist in seven of his 10 appearances, but he’s struggled for a cutting edge of late and failed to find the net since Gameweek 15.

A return to form could reignite interest in Lacazette ahead of four kind fixtures (bou CRY swa EVE) in as many Gameweeks.

Despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks, Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata (3.7%) is the top armband pick for this fixture.

That lack of form means that the Spaniard and team-mate Eden Hazard were among the top five most transferred out players for Gameweek 22, sent packing by 243,000+ and 207,000+ respectively.

Hazard has mustered just a single assist in five yet both he and Morata also have some decent fixtures ahead to arrest their recent declines – over the next five Gameweeks, Antonio Conte’s side host Leicester, Bournemouth and West Brom and also make their way to Brighton and Watford.

Encouragingly for Hazard’s owners, he looks set to return to a central role with the visitors rolling out a 3-5-1-1 formation.

The Gunners, meanwhile, welcome back Mesut Ozil from a minor knee problem, though injuries in defence means that Arsene Wenger is forced to field the likes of Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in his starting line-up.

Need Kane & Son to save my gameweek....

    Fab - Elliot
    Ota - Azpi - Mee - Kabasele - Masaku
    Son - Cout - Sterling - RLC - Carroll
    Kane - Firm - Morata

    2ft

Thinking Cout + Kabasele -> Lingard + Alonso???

    Pickford/Elliot
    Jones/Alonso/Vertonghen/Maguire/(4.0)
    Eriksen/Cout/Sterling/Lanizini/TCarroll
    Firm/Kane/Quaner

    0.6ITB - 1FT

Okay so Cout going to Barce has completely ruined my squad tbh

Thinking of waiting this week and doing 2 FT's Vertonghen & Cout -> Salah & Stones.

Can anyone suggest anything else to boost my squad. I don't like UTD attacking assets -- just think Lingard will fall off

This was almost my exact wildcard team apart from Mahrez I had Son. I decided to change it to get in Kun, dropping Ota and Pickford to Ogbonna and Adrian this week. Personally I think Stones or Christensen are better value than Ota at his current price

I got Ota at 5.8 (I think) so I'll be sticking... don't want to double up in defence either, so Alonso alone will do fine.

It´s to talk after. Laca did very well in Lyon, has quality with ball but Wenger has not been able to get the best out of him and he lacks confidence now but I think he can do much better next season, with a new coach and a different context would even better for him!

Lacazette has done as well as he can. Basically, Wenger has asked him to do the same job Benzema does for Ronaldo, in a despairing attempt to keep Sanchez happy.

He should play Giroud instead, wouldn't cost him a thing. He is the prototype of Benzema on that team.

I was wondering that, but that's why I ask.

My mindset was that if Alonso doesn't score, he's likely not getting any baps. And if it's a CS, the baps seem more likely to go to Azpi.

After enjoying the top 4 privileges of referee decisions - it seems that Arsene is struggling to come to terms with less so privileged mid-table decisions! Needs to take a leaf from Shaun Dyche!

I'd keep probably save the transfer and see how it goes.
Morata + Son -> Firmino and Haz is always an option when you have two FT

Real question is; to keep Morata or not?

He's getting chances, which is an improvement. The fact he has zero confidence doesn't help. So it's a question of whether he's a Joselu with his feet permanently or whether he will start to sidefoot home one big chance a game.

Think i'll keep. Unlike Lukaku, rather a striker gets chances.

He was doing better until his injury. Hoping he practices scoring a little more, so giving him one more game.
