We now turn to assess the Sky Sports game, as our focus article looks back at the previous weekend’s action before preparing you for the incoming Gameweek.

We’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future line-up plans.

Gameweek 31 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

Fixture MoTM
Man United vs Liverpool Marcus Rashford
Everton vs Brighton Phil Jagielka
West Ham vs Burnley Chris Wood
Newcastle vs Southampton Jonjo Shelvey
Huddersfield vs Swansea Federico Fernandez
West Brom vs Leicester Riyad Mahrez
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Willian
Arsenal vs Watford Petr Cech
Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur Son Heung-min
Stoke vs Man City David Silva

Son Heung-min and David Silva both moved onto five awards for the season and sit alongside Mesut Ozil and Marko Arnautovic in the chasing pack, behind the top-four heavyweights of Mohamed Salah (ten), Kevin De Bruyne (nine), Eden Hazard (eight) and Harry Kane (seven).

Son looks a great option right now.  He’s owned by fewer than 5% of the game and has back-to-back scores of 19 and 17 points. With Harry Kane on the sidelines, a straight swap to the South Korean looks tempting in time for Gameweek 34 when Spurs return to Premier League action.

Gameweek 31 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at any player to earn 45 points or more in bonus for the season

Notes

A poor week overall, with my Saturday captain Theo Walcott being hooked off early and Harry Kane repeating the trick on Sunday.

To compound matters, Ben Davies failed to feature and then Christian Benteke decided to put in a sub-par shift of 45 minutes – it was all frustrating to say the least.

Drifting from the safe options in a bid to make ground is fraught with danger, though, and I was well aware it could backfire. I just wish I had been given a sporting chance this week.

With the Harry Kane injury, I decided to act quickly, like many others, settling on Gabriel Jesus as my replacement.

The allure of the Monday night Stoke City match was too much. Jesus, disappointingly, only managed an assist that evening, but looks a good option to me for the rest of the season.

With Sergio Aguero nursing an injury and Man City progressing into the latter stages of the Champions League, I suspect Jesus will be used more often in the Premier League.

Captain Plan
Sat 17th – Salah (WAT)

As well as the weekly Focus article, I’ll be talking through the week’s action and upcoming plans with FFS posters Buffrey and Lewis on our regular podcast – the latest episode can be found here.

Considering a hit for a defender and I dont want that to be Baines since I got Shaqiri, Choupa and Butland.

    A) Ake
    B) PVA
    C) Take no hit

Do we think anyone of them can exploide? Who would you rather go for?

2FT but tempted for the -4. WC in 32 or 33. Which option?? Do I give too much Palace love?

    Pickford
    Gomez Schindler Baines*
    Mane* Salah RLC Milivojevic
    Wilson Benteke*

    A) Baines, Mane, Benteke
    B) Baines, Zaha, Firmino
    C) Baines, Shaqiri, Firmino
    D) Other?

Tempted by A but possibly missing out on the masses with Firmino. Talk me out of being a renegade.

The fact that King is not 100% but probably should be okay is slightly annoying - I was looking forward to tripling up on Bournemouth attackers and just hoping for the best.

Surely Mounie is the safer choice now? It was very close before, but the fact that King isn't 100% surely tips it in Mounie's favour...

No. Dont. Im still going with the triple up. Wilson, Stanislas and King for me.

I watch them a lot and live local. EH is always cagey in press conferences. King had a neck problem last week and only came off the bench as a result v Spurs. I watched him and he looked fine.

He has been heavily pictured in training this week. I think he will be fine.

I don't have the guts to go 3-5-2 with this free hit, it'll either be King or Wilson up front with Firmino and Mounie.

I guess I’m just assuming with the teams involved this week most people aren’t going to have more than 4/5 players, whereas in Gw35 you should be able to get 10/11 fairly easily.

It was easy to get 9 or 10 in for 31, then WC 32 as we should know the dgw'ers very soon after the cup games, int break etc, 2 ft's

Probably the penalty taker from Palace, Miliovic?
He’s cheap and could easily be a 5th mid going forward
