With Klopp's comments on Trent and hinting he could start against the Hammers, surely he's first choice and preferred by Klopp?

Also, if he misses the first game, surely he'll start the next? (Could be good for Arnie owners xD)

nailed isn’t the same as first choice. i’d argue that as of now TAA is more likely to rotate at some point than Robertson due to the better quality RBs that liverpool have. Robertson’s only threat is Moreno

don’t get me wrong if TAA starts looking nailed he’s straight in my team

i agree with this, also being 19 and his main competition being a regular international untill last year i expect TAA to rotate a lot more often

Rotation happens when the CL fixtures pile up, and both full backs will be rotated then. No reason to rotate when they just have one game a week in the PL.

rotation due to opposition is also an option, so not entirely correct.

He's going to rotate his full backs due to opposition once a week?

              1. @persecuted_by_mods
                8 years, 19 days ago

I think the word rotation is causing an issue here, I'm sure we're all agreed Robertson will play more than TAA simply because Moreno isn't that good whereas on the right back side they have more and better options. You're right though proper rotation kicks in with fixtures piling up. That said it's not unreasonable for Klopp to think his experienced defender Clyne might be more suited to facing an opposition than TAA- Seem to recall Mourinho literally targeting him as a weak link to good effect. So while it won't be rotation every week Clyne will certainly replace TAA a lot more than Moreno will Robertson imo

Double Liverpool defence (Robertson and Van Dijk) a good idea? Their opening 6 fixtures look to have a good of 5 clean sheets. Ideally want TAA over Van Dijk but that's an easy downgrade if he's looking nailed.

he is nailed in the team, could be deployed as the most attacking midfielder, but also as a double pivot alongside someone, in a slightly deeper role. Goals are few but there are some, but i think he will get a great deal of assists, and his playing style will give him high scoring in the bps system. downside is he is quite aggressive so some yellows and even reds is on the cards-). Could be value, but also takes up a liverpool slot in your team. Currently on him, mostly because firmino isn´t nailed on to start, which will be clearer after pre-season games.

I think you’ve overspent on GKs and I’m really not a fan of your defense or your third forward. Honestly not seeing where you’ve spent the dosh... anything itb?

    I’m happy with this!

(Said nobody ever, a week from kickoff.)

    Fab | Foster
    DLuiz | TAA | Kiko | PvA | Ake
    Salah | Sanchez | Sig | Mkhi | Jota
    Arnie | Mitro | Tosun

    0.5 ITB

Thinking of downgrading PvA to W-B and maybe using that to upgrade Mkhi and/or Mitro. Other thoughts?

Big risk is no city. I personally would keep PVA and downgrade a 4.5 defender to Wan B, but what formation are you going for?

Can see benched points there. Maybe get a 4.5/5.0 8th attacker

Yeah, I can, as well, which is why I’m happy to hold off on Mkhi until the third week.

      Sorry me no likee.
Defence: TAA and Kiko are both excellent players but aren’t guaranteed to start. If you change PVA to AWB like you’re thinking of you could bring in Robertson and Kabasele (who rotates well with AWB)
Midfield too expensive: Downgrade Sanchez to 4.5.
Forwards: Mitro a red card magnet so use Sanchez money to bring Auba or Kun in.
      Hope this helps.

      Cover is a myth.
eg: How can a Firmino hattrick be covered by Mane and Salah in a 3-0 Pool win?

Just keep faith in your selection and get the guy!

    Best 5.5 defender:

    A. Bellerin
    B. Luiz
    C. Someone else

    Already have Bailly.

How many City and Pool players do you folks have in your team. 3 Pool a lil bit too many?

What about City? Have 2 and reluctant to go more than that.

On point. I went Firmino instead of Sadio though. Think Firmino with that price, is the best value for premium forwards.

      Double triple-up:

      Robertson
      Salah
      Mane

      Mendy
      Mahrez
      Aguero

That's a big chunk of your cash on 6 players.

True - but provides flexibility and structure once fixtures change.

Aguero can become Laca/Auba at some point. Mahrez/Mane could become Eriksen etc or a cash reservoir for upgrades elsewhere if someone like Richarlison steps up.

Don't think my team particularly suffers for it:

          Patricio, 4.0
          Robertson, Mendy, Luiz, Tomkins, AWB
          Salah, Mane, Mahrez, Jota, Costa/Hughes
          Aguero, Arnie, 4.5

      Yes

He's Charlie Austin, but 0.5m cheaper.

Better option than Jiminez at Wolves, the other main option at 5.5m

Not nailed but looking like Peltier will get some game time.
Bednarek Bennett and Jack Simpson also getting preseason games but unlikely to feature much.

    For those going with Sanchez.

Can be a placeholder for Kdb/Hazard no doubt.

    But is he worth 10.5?
Eriksen seems much better at 9.5.

    With Matic out,Pogba not back...
Mourinho ranting like a baby and injuries,do we think he gets enough service to deliver?

    1. Oven Glover
      • 11 Years

There’s a chance Eriksen plays deeper early on until all players are back. Sanchez is my placeholder for Haz until he’s back.

Best chances for delivery look like coming from Mata & Shaw early doors but they'll only last s few GW and very punty indeed. If I was forced into making a Utd choice I would personally rather punt on those 2 for a couple of weeks though than Sanchez.

Personally, I think he will..he had a great preseason, he's the focal point of their attack atm, so anything United score will most likely go through him which isn't the case with Eriksen. Honestly, It's not as bad as its made out to be at United.

DunasDog, do you still have Mkhi and DLuiz in your draft...?
I’m starting to think that Ramsey needed, and Davies is better than DLuiz. Just don’t know how to fund these, maybe by downgrading Mane to DSilva...
