The final Premier League fixture before the October international break takes place at 16:30 BST – and what a match it promises to be.

Liverpool versus Manchester City is perhaps the most anticipated clash of the season so far, with plenty of Fantasy interest in assets from both sides.

Despite suffering over 210,000 sales and a price drop in Fantasy Premier League this week, Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) is still owned by more than one in two Fantasy managers and has actually been captained by more FPL bosses than Eden Hazard (£11.2m) this weekend.

Aguero leads the line for City again this afternoon in a side that shows three changes from the team that started the win over Brighton in Gameweek 7.

John Stones (£5.3m) replaces Nicolas Otamendi (£6.1m) at centre-back, but the more noteworthy alterations to Pep Guardiola’s starting XI come on the left flank.

Benjamin Mendy (£6.2m), who has suffered over 1,375,000 sales in FPL since missing out in Gameweek 5, returns at left-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.8m) missing out.

Mendy’s inclusion, as has often been the case in the past, means that Leroy Sane (£9.2m) drops to the bench, with Riyad Mahrez (£8.6m) coming into the side. Raheem Sterling (£11.1m), it is assumed, will move over to the left flank to play as an inverted winger in Sane’s stead.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.7m) was rumoured to be in contention for this fixture but is not even among the City substitutes this afternoon. Ilkay Gundogan (£5.6m) also misses out with a hamstring complaint.

Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), Sadio Mane (£9.9m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.4m) all start for the Reds and indeed there is only one change to the starting XI from the side that drew with Chelsea last weekend: Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.2m), who put in a sub-par display against Napoli in midweek, is replaced by Dejan Lovren (£4.9m).

Joe Gomez (£5.1m) will presumably move across to right-back in Alexander-Arnold’s absence.

Naby Keita (£7.3m) has recovered from a back spasm to take his place in the home dugout, meanwhile.

This fixture features the four most-sold FPL players of Gameweek 8: Salah, Mendy, Aguero and Mane.

Aguero and Liverpool’s front three all registered attacking returns in this corresponding fixture last season, with the hosts running out 4-3 winners in a thrilling match.

No Premier League club has registered more clean sheets than Liverpool and City (four each) this season, though, while City have conceded fewer “big chances” than any other top-flight side. Jurgen Klopp’s side have themselves only allowed six clear-cut opportunities.

Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Gomez, van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson; Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy; Fernandinho, Silva, Bernardo; Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero.

Anyone saw Che vs Sot and Arsenal vs Fulham?
How were Ings and Mitrovic? From stats, Ings had big chances and both had couple of on target shots. Did any of them lookedd dangerous?

Mitrovic was a spectator with a couple of half chances, Fulham didn't really create anything which is worrying. Ings missed a sitter.

2 plum fixtures to come but not sure at all. That's two games in a row against not particularly strong defences where Fulham look clueless in the final third.

Mitro has Cardiff so probably last chance

He hasn't been great last few games, probably thought Lovren and Gomez was better defensively, I reckon TAA will be back in against the lesser teams to give them more going forward.

TAA obviously was not injured, as he was on the bench.

Are the wheels falling off Liverpool's season earlier than usual? They haven't won in their past four matches, their talisman Salah looks woefully out of form, they're only fifth top scorers (behind City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth).

Double Liverpool defence looks the way forward I recon. I planned for Son > Salah next week but now I'm not so sure. Even though Mane has also looked off the pace, he's probably the best option wouldn't you say?

Which two though? I was planning to go for Robbo and TAA but today's lineup has put me off Trent. Gomez and Lovren are rotation risks as well. Robbo + VVD seems too expensive.

Long IB ahead, worth rolling transfer and keeping Sane another week ? Could start v Burnley. 1.5 itb.

      Patricio
      Bennett, Alonso, Robbo
      Dilva, Sane, Hazard, Fraser
      Mitrovic, Aguero, Wilson
      (Ryan, Knockaert, PVA, WB)

I think i'll keep him against Burnley, -4 to get Hazard my option but they play ManUtd and i predict a bus from Mourinho (if he's still there).

My head hurts. Had a long weekend away with the wife without the kids for first time in years.
Can anyone help if I'm up or down on my moves I made.. I think I'm down 3 or 4 points

Would have captained hazard, played Aguero and Chilwell but instead took a minus 4 for Aguero out for Kane and captained him, got Doherty in for chillwell and started him and dropped kante for a cheaper bench player.

      Cheers.

It's all gone a bit stale for me after a positive start to the season.

To WC or not to WC, that is the question...

      Hennessey / Stek

      Robbo, Jonny, Shaw, Cedric, AWB

      Salah, Haz, Rich, Fraser, Bilva

      Aguero, Ings, Zaha

My defence needs mixing up and I'm uncertain on my front 8.

Would you WC this team or not? (1 FT this week)

I think you could get away with waiting a week and doing 3 transfers for -4

So maybe stick another week and then do 3 after the next set of fixtures?

Palace fixtures awful now, but Salah, Aguero and Haz in place going forward. I can see why you want to though.

I'm in two minds as there's not a lot of promise in there but I'd likely get rid of Salah in a WC...he's not looking good at all but the fixtures are great.

Posted my team above, own Firmino so same thoughts. Worried Sturridge get more gametime too as Firmino will be travelling during IB.

But i'd definately keep Salah for those fixtures.

        I would

        You need holy trinity

Ings and Zaha not optimal, so many more effective options

          Holy trinity?

Yeah they would be on their way out, along with Bilva, Shaw, Cedric, Hennessey.....loads basically!

A crazy gw which could have been disastrous with Kane C for -4. I feel good that I learnt finally from past and dint bring Kane in like last season just for few GW only to be dissapointed. I think Sours gonna have hard time getting in top 4 this season so kane talky will be affected too. And with THAT price not even thinking of touching till gw 14

GW8 last season was a (K)ane fail. I got 14 points from the Swans, Carroll and Fabianski, and 10 points from everybody else.

38 pts all out with VVD and Robertson on the bench.

      WC team for now:
      Patrício Fabianski
      VVD Robbo TAA Alonso Doherty
      Hazard KDB Siggy Maddison Kenedy
      Aguero Mitrovic Wilson
      0.5 ITB
First draft, could still change with your help 🙂
