As Fantasy Premier League managers consider breaking up the template of premium options ahead of upcoming fixture swings, we continue our latest series.

We are comparing some of the more expensive options on offer against their best-ever FPL scores to see whether they are justifying their price.

After studying Harry Kane (£12.4m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) earlier this week, we now move on to Manchester City’s talismanic striker Sergio Aguero (£11.4m).

Aguero’s best-ever FPL score came in the 2014/15 season when he scored 26 goals and assisted a further 10. His exploits in front of goal earned him the Premier League Golden Boot award.

Those figures combined for a total score of 216 points, with 27 of them coming through the bonus points system.

Having scored eight times in the first 12 Gameweeks of 2018/19, a continuation of his current strike rate, 0.67 goals per game, would see him reach 25 goals for the campaign.

That would be one short of his best-ever Premier League goal tally, but he could easily beat his personal best for assists if he keeps up his form.

Registering six in the first 12 Gameweeks of 2018/19 means Aguero is averaging 0.5 per game, setting the potential for recording 19 by next May.

Crucially, the Manchester City striker is currently recording 6.67 points per game, this season. If he continues at that rate and avoids any injuries or rotation then he could record a total score of 253 points.

That would set a new career-high FPL season tally for Aguero, a truly incredible possibility considering his rich pedigree in the game.

    A) Mendy to Doherty
    B) Barkley to Richarlison
    C) Mendy + Barkley to Doherty + Richarlison/Dilva for -4?

I'll still have an extra City slot even with Delph. Do you recon Stones is more nailed than Delph?

Is so hard to tell with city whos nailed. I reckon for peps next trick he'll start benching Laporte... But at the minute I think Laporte is the best Def pick. Ederson is definitely another option though

Prefer Stones, though definitely at risk of the occasional rotation - he seems to be 1st choice at present, something we do not know yet about Delph

    A) Mendy > Bennett (alr have Doherty)

    B) Mendy > Laporte

B seems the obvious thing to do, but A gives me more cash (0.0 ITB at the moment)

    Rest of team:
    Hennessey - Hamer
    Rob - Alonso - Doherty - AWB
    Salah - Haz - Rich - Barkley
    Aguero - Arnie - Success

Planning to do Salah & Barkley > Sterling & Martial in GW14 btw.

Nah, don't WC that. Not even sure you'd need to do it for GW15, tbh, with some well-timed moves. Downgrading Mendy and turning Maddy into Martial must be tempting.

Your team looks fine outside of Mendy/Maddison, I think most are in the same boat with those flagged players so I'd hold on. Get rid of Mendy first perhaps and leave enough itb to address Maddi with an upgrade if he's still out the following week imo.

Most of the talk on here that I've seen regarding Mendy replacements has been around Laporte. Stones & Delph are two great options that are going under the radar.

    Firstly regarding Delph:
-Lots of talk rumblings that Delph isn't an option because Zinchenko is a threat.Zinchenko can play there but the only time he played left back in the league this season was when both Mendy and Delph were out.
-Zinchenko played the last Champions league game at left back, most likely because he spent five years with Shakhtar’s youth team, that's probably the reason he started that last Champions League game

    On Stones:
-Laporte will be 6.0 by the end of tonight. Is he really worth 0.7+ more than Stones? No, in my opinion. Stones has started the last six league games. I'm sure Kompany and Otamendi will come in for a two or more games. I imagine Laporte will be rested for at least a game too over the festive period.
-FFS pointed out in there "Scoutcast Extra - Big Numbers" episode this week, Stones is 5th highest amongst all FPL players for Minutes for Baseline Bonus. Laporte aint even in the top 10. There's far better value elsewhere

I'm doubling up on Stones & Delph for a combined 10.6

Why would you spend 10.6 on 1 single starting asset? Huge waste. Just get Laporte (nailed at 5.9) and leaves you enough to get another great rotating asset from another solidly defensive squad

Stones maybe ..but doubling wity Delph probably a step too far for me. Zinchenko offers more going forward imo, so I'd be concerned that in some matches (the easier ones) that he could get a run. You'd be losing out on a city attacking place too.

Best run of fixtures before a GW15 Wildcard?

    A) Digne (CAR), AWB (BUR), Digne (NEW)
    B) Doherty (HUD), Doherty (car), AWB (bri)
    C) Laporte (whu), Laporte (BOU), Laporte (wat)

    Thanks

Seen a lot of noise about GW15 being good for wildcarding. I’m sure it’s good advice but can anyone tell me why? Fixture shift only?

    Cheers lads

Top 6 fixture swing but logic so far dictates that you should have these players loaded into your team anyway.

Yeah - Spurs in particular have a great blue run starting GW15 so is an opportunity to restructure to get Kane and co in without taking hits

Salah money could get us Kane without a wildcard so is there anything else?

Thinking of just extending as long as I can before having to use it.

Yeah - I'm thinking the same as you - I don't like tying myself to a specific GW - I'm just going to use it when I need to, and as late as possible/sensible.

I think it's pretty easy to get Kane in in 15 without a WC, but it's adding Arsenal options the following GW that will be trickier. That's what I'm looking at currently.

IF spurs find their groove on next few games, that week for WC looks awesome. Plus you can go for differentials in ARS and United (if u are brave enough). If u realize that the best team in WC doesn't look waaaay different then stick and WC on 19 to set for 2019

Not much goal/assist threat & United have shown they could concede to anyone this season.

After a hit, is this good enough for green arrows until WC at GW15?

    Fab (foster)
    Alonso, Taa, Doherty, a.smith, awb
    Salah, haz, martial, fraser, Stephens
    Kun, arnie, jimenez.

    Crazy to go Doherty (c)?

What would you do with the following team ?

    Patricio
    Alonso, Robertson, Trippier*, Duffy
    Hazard, Mane, DSilva
    Aguero, Arnautovich, Wilson

    (Hamer, Billing, AWB*, Madisson*)

Thinking on perhaps taking a -4 hit and doing:
    A) Trippier + Madisson > Laporte + Richarlison
    B) Trippier + Madisson > Laporte + Felipe Anderson
    C) Trippier + Madisson > Doherty + Martial

Any ideas? Must make changes today or else won't have enough $$$

Annoying Martial, Richarlison, Sigurdsson all doubt. Looking for Maddison replacement.
B Silva might be the solution. If all are fit I think I would go Martial though. What do you think?

No, the FFS Cup first round draw is today. (That's what Geoff told me)
Members Cup qualification week hasn't even happened yet.

Entries have already closed for the FFS Cup, but you can still enter the Members Cup.

        https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/11/01/fantasy-football-scout-cup-entry-now-open-2/

If you mean points cutoff, I have heard rumours it's anywhere from 57-62. Just rumours of course.

So time for changes, but which going forward?

    Alisson,
    Mendy, Alonso, TTA
    Salah, Haz, Frazer, Bark
    Vardy, Arnie, Wilson

Foster, Diag, Doch, AWB + 2.7 itb

    A, Mendy + Barkley > Digne/ Keane + D Silva

    B, Mendy + Vardy > Stones/ Digne/ Keane & Kun

    C, Barkley > Richarlison

Have funds to do A or B+C

    What do you reckon?

    Hi

As everyone else around here I need to replace Mendy. I have been rocking the RAM + Doherty + WanB, but I am thinking of going double Liverpool defensively and get in TAA (or Vdd). I have 1,2m in the bank so if I go Mendy -> TAA I have the optioon of going Sterling -> Salah at a later time. I have not had Salah in my team this season, and I am not sure that that is something that I want to do. Money for Aguero to Kane at a later stage is also nice to have.

I currently love my attacking trio and any change there would probably be Wilson down to Jimenez, so I am not sure on how to utilize any saved money from downgrading Mendy. Any tips?

    Team id 459818 - rank 8459 (bragging not even humble 😉 )
    Ryan - Fabianski
    Robertson - Alonso - Mendy - Doherty - WanB
    Hazard - Sterling - Richarlison - Fraser - Stephens
    Wilson - Arnautovic - Aguero

I am also still holding the WC. My previous plan was to use it around GW 10, but thinks went so well that now i think GW15.

For a hit, who would you choose to get in for Mendy and Barkley:

    A) Robertson and Martial
    B) Stones and DSilva

I'm still undecided about whether I want Salah or Sterling long term, so leaving that one alone for now. But I'm definitely sure I want Alonso as my second premium and not Laporte.

    Team is:

    Pat (Hamer)
    Robbo Mendy TAA Yedlin AWB
    Salah Haz Richarlison Fraser Cairney
    Aguero Arnie King

    2FT, 0ITB

Exact money for Mendy > Digne, King > Jiminez (this week) and then TAA > Alonso for GW14.

Can you guys see anything better?
