Saka, Medley and Nketiah all travelled with the Arsenal squad apparently.

Makes me nervous that there may have been an injury to Auba/Laca.

As a Laca owner with Balbuena first sub an injury to either of them would be fine by me.

Laca and Auba are both in training pics from yesterday - so would have to be a late injury for one or both to be out:

I’d guess they traveled so that Emery can sub off his main men early if Arsenal are up big. NLD mid-week and Poch showed his intent for that match by benching Eriksen and Son yesterday.

    Have 2FTs:
Which combo is the best in next 4-5 GWs? (having in mind rotations etc)

    Fab
    Digne Robbo Alonso Belerin
    Salah* Richa FAnderson Kenedy*
    Kane Auba

    Subs: Button, Camarasa, Success*, AWB

    A) Sterling Chicha (4-3-3)
    B) Salah Snoddy

After next deadline, before Liverpool have Newcastle at home, would Laporte and Son to TAA (assuming he's back) and Mane be crazy?

I really fancy Mane to go bonkers soon.. Too many chances to keep missing!

Not a fan of those moves. The two you want to sell could easily outscore the two you want to buy. Not to mention Liverpool have Arsenal and City after the Newcastle game.

      I’d think of this like:

      1) Auba, Allison, Robbo, and Salah

      2) Leno + 26

I’d take 2, but it’s close. You need 7 pts from each in 1 to earn a draw if Arsenal concede. It’s possible, but a lot has to go right for option 1.

I came on here the other day pointing out that after playing in the CL midweek Kane had scored one goal, one lucky penalty, one assist and blanked twice – once again Cardiff. I also said he'll grab a single digit score at best and that the Burnley match wasn't going to turn into a tonking.

I still captained him over Sterling because I'm a pretty average player and don't have any reason to trust my instincts but Adam Hopcroft was talking on the Scoutcast how Kane's underlying stats are roughly comparable to Lukaku's. And even watching Spurs' matches you can see that Kane is playing much more like Firmino this season than the focal point of the entire Spurs team as he was in previous seasons or like how Haz is in Sarri's Chelsea side. Not worth 12.5 when you consider the likes of Aguero and Obamayang who are significantly cheaper than him and all the brilliant midfield options like Sane, Fanderson, Richarlison etc.

I'm sure he'll come back with a haul at some point, but all considered I think I'm dropping him for Kamara and bringing Haz and Sane in a five man midfield.

I do a podcast and line you bring up above, despite saying Kane pretty much "too much money for his returns" I like you, didn't listen to own advice and went him cap, predominantly due to fear. But point being, like yiu, I'm thinking doing 5 man mid

    5. Piggs Boson
      • 14 Years

I think that might be a good idea long term. Just hard to drop him with those fixtures.

I remember your post & in all fairness, you were correct.

However you lose a some credibility given "I still captained him over Sterling" - despite both returning similar scores.

All well and good lambasting stats but if you go against them in your own selection, there's not much to fall back on. (If it's such good advice, you should live by your own words.)

      1. Teror
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

Considering my rank I don't think I'm particularly deserving of any credibility. All I'm trying to do is contribute meaningfully to the discussion of the value of a player like Kane so maybe next time we'll discuss him with a bit more nuance and I might be less inclined to go with the crowd. Not blaming anybody or lording it up in any way, just trying to encourage debate in the hope that someone might write something insightful.

Haven't heard it mentioned much around here but surely a possibility with Arsenal and City to come. Hard to say though as Klopp won't want to relinquish top spot. Maybe just managed minutes rather than a benching.

The tripe on here about Kane and Spurs earlier! I just watch the game and fair enough they weren't at their best but had over 70% possession and their fair share of chances (or half chances at least)! On another day Kane would have had at least one goal and a brace of assists. Blatant pen that should have been given to him too.
He seems to drop even deeper when Lucas plays though but he's still well capable of hauls over the next few GWs. Not a concerned owner here but prob in the minority from reading some of the comments from earlier 🙂

Auba, Hazard, and Alonso. At 61 now. Should be a good gw for me.

Currently 170k which isn't impressive. But I notice I don't trust my own gameplan. With all the news and strategies I notice I'm turning into a sheep. It's time to turn things around. Time to go big in defense and midfield and save money upfront with so many good options around the 7 million price tag.

    Go big or go home...

After yesterday am tempted to try and find a way to switch Kane to Salah for a hit. I just think Salah is now in form whilst Kane is going to struggle against weekends teams with spurs schedule. Anyone want to try and talk me out of it?

With such value in the likes of Wilson/Jimenez I think it makes sense. I’m going to be doing that same but probabaly not for a hit

He’s returned in 6 out of the last 7 games

That includes vs Chelsea and Arsenal

The one he didn’t he played 15 mins

As nailed as any big hitter

      Good fixtures

      Good underlying numbers

      Eriksen returning

Considering ditching Kane from GW19. I’ll have 2FT. Which of these do you think looks better (if any)?

    A) Kane, Fraser > Salah, Kamara
    B) Kane, Fraser > Hazard, Jimmy/ Chicha

    Fab
    Laporte, Doherty, Luiz
    Sterling, Sané, Anderson, XXX
    Auba, Wilson, XXX
    (Hamer) (Schindler, AWB, Gunnarsson)

    Advice appreciated

It’s not going to be an easy decision and I’m not making it until after next week anyway but I just know if I do it’ll be when Kane suddenly hits consistent form lol

        Then he’ll also be a consideration. I won’t do anyone until I have 2FT in GW19 anyway

Kane is the one according to me from now feb.
I may change it if Auba hatty & Laca blank today, but ...

I’m just not convinced on Kane’s ability to deliver this season. Generally he looks sluggish and like he’s lacking the service he needs. Not exciting as a prospect especially given his price. Fixtures are the only reason he’s even in my side.

Auba on the other hand when he doesn’t deliver in FPL terms he still looks exciting and promising and has the fixtures to go with it

      2. Don Kloppeone
        • 8 Years

But if I was taking out Auba instead of Kane I would have to go Haz over Salah

    3. AndyCook
      7 years, 7 months ago

Lots of value with Chicarito, Jimenez, Rondon all doing bits. Mitrovic was ok as well yesterday - Then Arnautovic when he comes back potentially if fixtures are not too bad

      1. Don Kloppeone
        • 8 Years

I agree. Which would you prioritise though, Salah or Haz?

        1. AndyCook
          7 years, 7 months ago

I would wait for more data today. Hazard is ticking over on assists and he doesn’t create enough big chances in a team with good enough finishers for that to be sustainable. He also typically scores at a slower rate than the start of the season so will likely not keep going at this rate. On this bases for now Salah but it’s close.

          1. AndyCook
            7 years, 7 months ago

Basis*. And when I say ‘this rate’ I mean this rate of point scoring

    2. AndyCook

Everton very unlikely to get many clean sheets, much like Doherty you are relying on attacking returns whereas with Alonso they are the bonus

It would be surprising unless he has an injury he is getting over (no word of this though). Has not played for over a week. I can see him being subbed early to save him for midweek though.

Is Snodgrass what I'm missing here? And Agurero instead of Kane?

Two free transfers that I might as well use since I still have my wildcard to use in one of the next two rounds:

    Kane -> Aguero
    McDonald -> Snodgrass

    Will give me:

    Ederson
    Robertson, Alonso, Doherty
    Richarlison, Fraser, Salah, Snodgrass
    Jiménez, Aguero, Aubameyang

    Hamer, Camarasa, Zabaleta, Bennett

    1.3 million in the bank

Behaviours that catch on here are frustrating. Why on earth call Anderson Fanderson? Bilva and Dilva was bad enough but at least I could see the logic

      Bernardo Silva = Bernardo
      David Silva = Silva
      Felipe Anderson = Anderson

      Pretty simple tbh.

Great question as there is only one Anderson. Not as bad as the RAM acronym from earlier this season.

Thinking about a 1 week punt to Rondon so he can play against Fulham and then switch him out for Jiminez the following week who'll play Fulham as well thoughts?

      Innovative.

    2. MTPockets

Not the worst punt if can spare the transfers. But think with budget options in particular best to play every week - only way to pick up the highs (and lows)

No. Unconfirmed, but I think he has a 'chronic' stomach injury which means he needs his minutes managed.

    2. MTPockets
      7 years, 7 months ago

No, think there's something going with him injury/health-wise

I have him and happy with the goal, I think he should be starting them he is there best mid. I'm going 8 good mids and fowards to cope with the rotations.

      Hazard Eriksen Anderson Richarlison Sane
      Jimenez Aubameyang Hernandez

You would imagine that Eriksen needs to play most games. But I do have a feeling that Poch has copped on to the fact that in previous seasons he was let down by overplaying his assets and not using his squad (or lack of squad).
