Surely only wanting keep your WC after IB means you have a whole 11 to replace? GW3 has already paved the way to know who you want? Surely? Wesley not going to change my mind over Barnes, especially if Barnes is 0.6 more and could rise.

I reckon if you have already used your WC avoiding price rises and having 2 FT's after IB you will be ok unless you picked a worse team team you had before you hit WC?

My WC team trumps the one I went with GW1.

FPL waits for nobody if you still hanging on to Perez, Jota and Siggi when all three have lost value and the players you want have risen in price...

Sometimes early wildcards work out. Sometimes they don't
I think that's the extent of things right now

I took a -8 hit for GW3 and scored way above average not holding onto under peformers.

I guess you are right, WC now could bite you but WC now when trying to figure out who you can afford after IB even worse.

What did you score GW3 and what were the transfers you made?

Took out Vardy, Perez and Heaton, brought in Pukki, KDB and Pope. Score 74.

If I had the latter it would have been disaster.

Am I right in saying Vardy, Perez and Heaton scored 16 while Pukki, KDB and Pope scored 18 -- and you took a -8 hit to get in the latter?

No KDB, Pukki and Pope scored 21. The latter scored 16.

Over the season Pukki, KDB and Pope will trump the latter to high heavens.

                I made the right choices.

The transfer I made were not short term.

Pukki 11, KDB 5, Pope 2 = 18. I'm not being picky - I just know because I own them all. A -8 hit to bring them in over three players who scored 16 is a loss, but yeah I agree you've probably come away with better players for the season (though I would say that as I own them all!)

I gained a 2m swing by wc & 1 x -4 hit. Happy with my team could strengthen defence is about all.

    2. Yoshioka
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

I'm saving my WC until after the IB as injuries and recoveries during that period will give me more information, plus I'll have GW4 data to consider too. I'm not so worried about price rises/drops as there are plenty of quality 4-5m defenders, 4-5-6.5 midfielders and 6-7m strikers to leave me able to afford the same big hitters I could without the price changes.

      1. FOO FIGHTER
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

Price rises and drops do matter when you want to fit in KDB and left with 2 of 4.5 defenders starting in your team.

        1. Yoshioka
          • 7 Years
          6 years, 11 months ago

I've run through three or four permutations of what team I want, and with all of them I'm left with between .6 and 1.1 ITB, so I'm prioritising getting the choices right and nailed over minor price rises right now, though in fairness I already have the 4 or 5 biggest risers in my team before using my WC.

    Martial & Wilson > Lanzini/Mount (if fit) & Pukki (-4)
Martial, Wilson and Robertson > KDB, Pukki & Digne (-8)

Which is better? Worth holding Martial or sell? Got him at 7.5

    A) Moura & VVD ---> Kdb & Guilbert (-4)

    B) Martial & Moura---> Kdb & Mount (-4)

    C) Save FT start Moura/Martial/VVD with Dendo as 1st sub

    Feedback on this wildcard team:

    Pope / Button
Zinchenko, VVD, Kelly / Lundstram, Pieter's
Sterling, Salah, Lanzini, Mount / Douglas Luiz
    Vardy, Rashford, Pukki

It’s a bit different, it’s good, you have two midfielders at an awkwardly low price point though so it’s not very flexible

Cantwell. More nailed. Greenwood may only a handufl of minutes off the bench depending on how Ole goes.

I'm edging towards a. Solid set and forget. Dunno whether b has a higher ceiling though.

    Mount/Lanzini for Tiemalans?

Both are good options. I own Mount and do favour him. But Lanzini has looked decent of late my WHM friends insist.

Lanzini could be a nice differential

Hmm with Jota looking slightly less droppable, I am tinkering with alternatives. (Pending any better news re Martial):

    A) Martial > Mount (FT)
    B) Martial, AWB > Mount, TAA (-4, exact cash)
    C) Martial, Jota > Mount, Haller (-4)

    1FT 0.1itb
    Heaton
    VVD, Zinch, Digne, AWB*
    Salah, Sterling (C), KDB, Martial*
    Pukki, Jota*
    (Button) (Dendo, Greenwood, Lunds)

C feels like the popular pick and I get it but it’s becoming so popular it makes me think something’s going to backfire!

    Thoughts? Cheers
