Is Riyad Mahrez a viable cut-price FPL route into the Man City attack?

Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

    It's either KDB > Mahrez or KDB, Haller > Yarmolenko, Auba -4 for me. Can't afford to carry a 10m player with so many of the heavy hitters having favourable home games

      you cant rely on Cantwell, I have been doing it and it sucks. Plus with Fab out Cantwell probably a waste of money.

          And he doesnt seem to rotate with Lundstram at all well, I havent really looked to the future fixtures but meh its been trash so far.

              I shoulda gone McGinn, stupid decision on my part I feel. Just looking at my team and seeing Pukki and Cantwell week in week out is lame. And even on away fixtures its really hard to bench Cantwell as you always have this niggly feeling this week he might return. The icing on the cake is for him to then be injured when they finally get a home game again.

              I think I have learnt a lesson tho and that is, I should never be having two attacking players from the same promoted side in my starting xi. Double Norwich attack sounds ridiculous in reality, right.

      Easy yes (though wait for an update). I’ve had KDB from the start and not worrying about the loss in value if he’s confirmed out beyond this GW - he’s getting kicked about all over the place. Expect him to be in and out due to injuries all season.
