It’s again time to combine Fantasy football with a flutter in our weekly betting feature.

We’ll be turning to the data available in our Members Area to inspire a few punts on the weekend’s action.

Matt Doherty found the net for us in Gameweek 28, although it’s fair to say we didn’t anticipate Liverpool succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at Vicarage Road…

The Reds nevertheless feature in this week’s article, with a home fixture against Bournemouth offering them the perfect chance to bounce back to winning ways.

Those wishing to subscribe to our site to see more of the stats featured in this weekly feature should click here to sign up or upgrade your account.

Rolling monthly subscriptions are now available for £2.99, while half-season memberships (expiring on June 1) can be bought for £9.99

And please always remember with gambling: when the fun stops, stop.

Alexander-Arnold's consistency continues as Firmino unlucky to blank

Trent Alexander-Arnold is partial to an assist, as we know, having racked up 14 of them in the Premier League this season – that’s a rate of one every other game.

The visit of Bournemouth offers the Liverpool right-back the perfect chance to add to his tally, too.

No side has kept fewer clean sheets than the Cherries (four) this season, with Eddie Howe’s troops having registered just one shut-out in the last 17 Gameweeks.

On top of that, Bournemouth have allowed more crosses from their left flank – i.e. Liverpool’s right – than any other club over their last six matches and indeed over 2019/20 overall.

No side has conceded more opportunities from their left wing than the Cherries over their last half-dozen games, with only Aston Villa allowing more over the whole of the season.

Alexander-Arnold is 6/4 with Grosvenor to set up a goal at Anfield on Saturday.

The five teams who have scored the fewest away goals in 2019/20 are, as it happens, all on the road this weekend.

Norwich City, Watford, Bournemouth, West Ham United and Newcastle United are on their travels in Gameweek 29 and are all currently scoring at a rate of less than one goal per match in away fixtures.

It’s no coincidence, either: those five clubs are in the bottom six for big chances created in away games this season.

The Canaries are particularly woeful when they’re not at Carrow Road, having scored on just six occasions in 14 away league fixtures.

Sheffield United, who have prevented the opposition from scoring in five of their 14 home matches, are 6/5 with Coral to keep a clean sheet at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Backing the Blades, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton in a ‘clean sheet’ accumulator with the same bookmakers returns just over 70/1.

Omitting the Eagles, who face a Watford side that have just put three goals past Liverpool, would give a fourfold of just under 24/1.

 1

Flagged with a calf injury and having suffered twice as many transfers out as any other player ahead of Double Gameweek 29, Jamie Vardy is hardly flavour of the month in Fantasy Premier League at present.

Brendan Rodgers said earlier in the week that Vardy “should be fine” for Monday night’s game against Aston Villa and we should hopefully get a fresh update on the striker’s availability from the Leicester City boss in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Even if he is passed fit, Vardy is hardly making a strong case for our money based on form.

The premium Fantasy forward is without a league goal since December, having registered just one attacking return in the subsequent ten Gameweeks.

Only one of the seven ‘blanks’ (excluding no-shows) since his last goal has come against a side currently in the bottom half, though – and even that appearance, against West Ham, was curtailed by injury after 42 minutes.

In matches against sides now in the bottom half of the Premier League table, Vardy has 18 attacking returns (13 of them goals) in 11 starts.

Aston Villa are also obliging opposition.

No side has shipped more goals or kept fewer clean sheets this season and Dean Smith’s troops have allowed ten more ‘big chances’ than any other club when we filter by last six matches.

Vardy is 11/4 with 888sport to score the first goal at the King Power Stadium on Monday night and 5/6 with Skybet to score at any time in a Leicester win.

      Ryan [Button]
      TAA Soy Stephens [Lund Rico]
      Barnes KDB Salah Rich [Saka]
      Auba Jimi Firmino

      Thoughts?

Bringing in Arsenal or Man City assets for the DGW 29? If so, how are you navigating GW31 as a result?

To me, unless you are using a chip for GW31, bringing in Man City or Arsenal players gets the same number of fixtures across the next 3 gameweeks as bringing in Liverpool, Palace, Burnley, Watford, Wolves, Bournemouth and (probably) Norwich and Everton players.

As such, I'd rather load up on Wolves than tear my team apart for GW29...

    1. Fulchester's New Centr…

Broadly agree, but Arsenal and certainly City better than most of those teams though.

This. Don't see many players from those teams beating Arsenal and City assets over the next three GWs.

    2. Pinturicchio10
      6 years, 5 months ago

Business end of the season now. Missing dgw hauls far too damaging. I have Aubameyang and I will sell Mane for De Bruyne. That's all for me. 31 looks a poison gw anyway I'd rather write it off and just go with as many players as fts allow. Which would be 8 or 9 I think.

      1. jason_ni
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 5 months ago

If you are planning on going into 31 with FTs only, I cant see who Mane to KDB(is that for a hit) makes sense.
Mane will have the same number of games as KDB, and better fixtures to boot.
If there is early team news that suggests mane is benched for Bou, then fair enough.

        1. Pinturicchio10
          6 years, 5 months ago

It's not for a hit. Rank killer if De Bruyne hauls and I have Salah. Makes perfect sense to have the two most sought after dgw players and then work out of it for 31.

          1. jason_ni
            • 10 Years
            6 years, 5 months ago

Each to their own, could work out( and the fact you have Salah also adds to it making a bit more sense), but in my head, its short sighted.
Next 3, Mane has BOU, eve, PAL
Next 3 Kdb has manu, ARSE, BURN

Mane wins that, and factor in additional 4 points not wasting a transfer, in my head would lead me to hold Mane.

In saying this, I have KDB, so maybe I'm dont that that fear that you have not owning him!

A few reasons to be careful with loading up on MCI and ARS assets this week:

      1) they don't play in GW31 - unless you plan to FH in GW31, this is likely to mean an extra -4 or playing less than 11 men in that week.

      2) A FH is more likely to be valuable in GW34/37 than GW31 - to field a DGW BB players in one of 34/37 and another 11 in the other is going to require a FH. Otherwise, you are going to be probably be short of 5 or 6 players. Liverpool playing in GW31 makes it more easily planned for.

      3) there are other options with good games this week - people are taking out options like Vardy vs Villa and Mane vs Bournemouth.... these players could easily haul this week!

      4) rotation - Man City players (and some Arsenal too) are highly likely to be rotated across the two games. Who plays both, no one knows.

You only need 2 or 3 from arsenal and city and if you have kdb and auba, it's enough I think

Casting our eyes back to GW 16 when this week's fixtures were reversed...

DCL (12 pts) scored twice in a 3-1 win over Chelsea
Salah (13 pts) got a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win at Bournemouth
Vardy (13 pts) with a brace in the 4-1 win at Villa
Jota (13 pts) with a brace in the 2-2 draw at Brighton
Auba (12 pts) with a goal and an assist in the 3-1 away win against West Ham

KDB (19 pts) in GW 17 with a brace and an assist in a 3 nil victory over Arsenal.

I'm not swayed to take the captaincy off Salah this week despite the DGW. I just feel that Bournemouth will feel the wrath of Liverpool after recent displays.
That said, if KDB was to play in the attacking role he was given against Arsenal last time out, he'd be my captain every week. He ended the game with the highest average position (some margin in front of Jesus who played the full 90 mins).

Salah had 5 shots all on target all in the box against Bournemouth so I'm sure he'll be expecting to open their defence up once more.

Against West Ham, Aubameyang played as the central striker. He had 3 attempts at goal that day but he's doing the business from the left so can't see Arteta changing that.

I appreciate that this may appear to be a pointless post 😀 Just wanted to mix the forum up a bit.

For the record, I'm set on going into this DGW with just KDB, who only gets the vice behind Salah. I had considered bringing Bellerin or Luiz in with an FT but not convinced just yet. I'm happy to navigate GW 31, using FH, WC and BB to attack the doubles in GW 34 + 37.

    Good luck all

If I’m right in thinking the following:
    GW31 postponements -> GW34 midweek
    GW34 postponements -> GW37 midweek
    - Free Hit 37 seems logical.
    - 34 isn’t going to be DGW for many teams as 8 Prem teams are likely to be in cup actions.
    - To be conspiratorial, City and United will be kept apart in the draw (if they progress) and we will see Manchester and North London/London semis with potential derby finals (good for the competition)
    - This could mean juicy DGWs for four of MUN MCI CHE TOT ARS

So maybe the -4 shouldn't be factored in if I'm going to do it anyway and it should be a case of assessing who scores more Ings (NEW, nor) or Jota (BHA, whu)...

Enda Stevens and Vardy likely to be fit for weekend.

Plan is to use transfers to dead end for GW31 then Wc 32 and use FH in a double. Also have BB. 2FTs and 1.6m itb.

Would Ings to Jota be the best move this week? If Leicester have a blank GW31 might then move them out before Watford GW30.

Me? Already have Kev and Auba, not interested in getting any others in. Will probably have 9 or 10 playing in 31, but waiting to see what happens with FA Cup (looking ahead to 34) before commiting to anything.

I guess we will have to wait and see on that.

But I think my point is valid....if you take out anyone, as always, you need to expect outperformance by the replacement (or another alternative) by at least the cost of the transfer.

Planning a WC where I've got the maximum numbers of DGW players this week and as many BGW31 players around them as I can. I'm in need of catching up some points in my ML since I've been slipping a bit lately, so yes I'm aware it's a bit of a gamble WC. Give me your thoughts:

    Leno Pope
    Alonso TAA Taylor Holgate Saiss
    KdB Mahrez Sarr Saka Cantwell
    Aguero Auba Jota

3xArsenal - 3 players that is pretty nailed on. Leno can get some saving points against City and a CS against West Ham. Saka - very attacking LB, and very cheap which was necessary for me. Auba will prob be my captain.
3xCity - Don't see any CSs these two games. But I see attacking football and a lot of goals, which led me to these three guys. Yes, rotation is possible, but I still see maybe 5 out of 6 starts for Aguero, KdB and Mahrez over these two games combined.

For the BGW31 I've got 8 players thus far. So with 2FTs after GW29, and possibly a hit, I will get a starting 11 in BGW31. Then I have FH left to DGW34, and FTs to DGW37 + BB.

I have a similar plan, not sure if I'll be able to fit in 3x City and 3x Arsenal though.
      Leno is an interesting proposition.

I have 3.4itb with that lot above so I'm considering just doing Saiss to Doherty 🙂 Alonso is my punt!

Sorry but it looks awful to me.

Would rather have Liverpool players than the likes of Aguero or Mahrez this week. Those two will not start both games. Aguero + Cantwell > Salah + Martinelli for starters but I wouldn't WC to that in most cases.

Pretty sure Mahrez or/and Aguero will get two starts. It's not like they usually play every two games, so why would they now?

This is one of the trickiest weeks for captaincy.

    So many great options.

Vardy AVL would be a slam dunk in most weeks and he's like 6th choice this week!
Leaning KdB but Auba who I can get for a -4 is rightfully a super appealing option.

It's just hard to look past KdB who now looks to be on penalties as well. Arsenal have conceded the 2nd most penalties this season and I just fancy Luiz to do something stupid as usual.

    Hello guys,

Could you help me out with this, who should i play as my 11. player for this GW, one out of:

    a) Bruno (MCI)
    b) Stephens (NEW)
    c) Traore (BHA)
    d) Moura (bur)

    The rest of my team:
    Alisson (BOU)
O'Connell (NOR) / Saiss (BHA) / TAA (BOU) / Soy (AVL)
KDB (mun, ARS) / Salah (BOU)
Auba (WHU, mci) / Ings (NEW) / DCL (che)

Yeah, i guess it not that tough of a decision.
Just it's a week when my defense is facing possibly 5 worst attacking teams, and facing them home.
So I feel scared if i leave Stephens benched it's going to be a 6-10 points gw for him.
Thanks for the reassurance, was leaning that way already.
