Fantasy Premier League managers will have to entirely re-think how best to invest in Manchester United’s attack for the 2020/21 season.

The game-makers at FPL Towers have wielded their position-changing axe and reclassified no fewer than three key Red Devil assets for the new campaign.

Marcus Rashford (£9.5m) and Mason Greenwood (£7.5m) have been converted into midfielders to reflect their roles on the flanks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking midfield trio, while Anthony Martial (£9.0m) has moved into the forwards bracket.

Fernandes haul raises the bar for top 10k's most popular captain Salah

These changes are sure to impact squad selection for the new season, but could also affect the appeal of Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) who has remained a midfielder.

To fully assess which of the Manchester United attackers appeal the most for 2020/21, we have pulled out some key statistics from Project Restart, the only time that Fernandes, Rashford, Greenwood and Martial started matches consistently at the same time.

      I'm sure plenty would do that.

      I'm personally looking at Taa Robbo double up if possible. They are scoring FPL points for fun. So much better than their relative priced attackers (apart from few exceptions)

        This is flawed logic.

        You could raise the budget by 20.0 and the price of every defender by 4.0 and the game would be EXACTLY the same.

        But Trent would now be 11.5 and worse value compared to other positions.

        You have to compare within positions, or at least in pairs e.g. TAA+5.0mid Vs Ziyech + 4.5 def

      I've gone for 5.5 defender instead of Digne (quite a few good options at that price point), and upgrade Stephens to a playing 5 mid like Soucek

    Just read the article on FanTeam. I'm totally up for this and will cough up the dough soon enough. But some advice:
    it's very similar but not exactly the same as FPL. Point-scoring and pricing is a little different. So which players are slightly better value in FanTeam compared to FPL?

    I have Trézéguet in my team at the moment. Aston Villa survived the first season so will they now be more ready to play? Trézéguet's price is 5.5 million - am I too naive to think he can be worth a lot of points?

      That price point is pretty poor IMO.
      One I'm looking closely is Keita. If he nails down a starting spot he can be a great option IMO.

      Chilwell by most news articles is going to end up at Chelsea
      Heaton has no actual return date as of yet, but I expect that to change when we get some team news

    Loved seeing Lyon beat Man City, and in particular Dembele with a brace, English teams aren’t as good as they think and also hopefully means Edouard when he does leave us goes for big big money as I feel we sold Dembele should have went for more, ps edouard better IMO

      Now that City will likely play in GW1, people are bringing KDB back in, and too scared to go without Salah or Mane. Tough to afford Auba, Salah, KDB, Bruno/Rashford and still have a balanced squad. May change once fixtures are announced

      He's a huge dutch guy that was considered a big talent when playing for NEC in the Netherlands. He stagnated a lot tho and never been a frequent goalscorer, he'll probably be loaned out again.

    Idea: fill up team with 3 x 4.0 (ferguson/ douglas/ johnson)and 2 x 4.5 (vinegre/ taylor) for first 1-3 weeks but leave lots of money ITB (c£5m)) to move to premiums. Lose the 4.0s that don’t play but hope you have jumped onto a couple of bandwagons that offer season long value?
    I could be missing a CS/ assist From TAA/ VVD but lowering odds on finding £0.5m of value over the season.
    Any thoughts on that as a strategy?

    Anyone else feel 442 gives you a great team overall but just don't like playing the formation because defenders (especially the budget ones) don't have a high ceiling?

    I wonder if there's a stat breakdown of playing 352 vs 442.

      4.5 defenders are much better value compared to 4.5 mids. You could use the extra cash to gain points from midfield

        I agree but playing the formation every week seems like too much of an annoyance considering you're likely to go for budget defenders (4.0-4.5) and they tend to be quite frustrating to own due to their lack of clean sheet output.

      There seem to be some 4.5 gems tho, especially Thomas and Vinagre. Add some burnley and Arsenal defs and i can see people going 4-4-2. I am probably, with Kün and Werner up top.

    Providing utd get into the final and arent starting the season I don't think this very first draft is too shabby. I anticipate an early wildcard being used in order to re-jig for the arrival of bruno and martial.

    Fixtures will no doubt have an impact but does anyone have an opinion or any suggestions so far?

    So Manchester City can now get a 30-day break between seasons and still play in GW1, if their fixture is moved to midweek. The same is true for Manchester United if they lose tonight, so is a complete 10 fixture GW1 now a realistic possibility or do you think that both teams (and possibly Wolves and Chelsea) would still be given extra time to prepare for the new season ?
