Fantasy Football Scout share FPL tips with Mail+ ahead of new season

Fantasy Football Scout shared some FPL insight and tips with Mail+ this week.

David Munday and Sam Bonfield appeared on their website to talk about the key talking points ahead of the new season.

They discussed how to handle the lack of fixture for Manchester City and Manchester United in Blank Gameweek 1, including the various strategies of tackling that, with or without Wildcards.

Sam got stuck into the teams with the best fixtures at the start of the campaign, including her club Spurs before David highlighted which players have come into 2020/21 with attractive prices.

That included highlighting the £1.0m that could be saved by going with Marcus Rashford (£9.5m) instead of Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) while also discussing the price reductions on players such as Sergio Aguero (£10.5m) and Harry Kane (£10.5m).

Sam also looked at options at the opposite end of the scale, warning against investment in previously helpful assets who will struggle to offer value in 2020/21. That number included Çaglar Söyüncü (£5.5m) and John Lundstram (£5.5m) as well as a comparison between Danny Ings (£8.5m) and Che Adams (£6.0m).

Finally, the two FFS representatives gave their thoughts on the Gameweek 1 captaincy, highlighting the credentials of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12.0m), Mohamed Salah (£12.0m), Timo Werner (£9.5m) and Kane.

        I wouldn't mind having Auba but for his price, I just don't see the value.

        I have the captaincy options here and the players I can bring in with Auba funds are, in my opinion, going to provide more points.

        Thank you. Been tinkering a lot and I think this is going to be locked in unless something drastic changes or someone points out a major flaw (other than Auba missing haha).

      Looks good. I'm going for something very similar, but instead of Ings I have a 4.5 striker so that I can have TAA, VVD, and Digne (who can become Laporte or other premium defender if needed).

        That's interesting and something I've considered.

        The downsides I saw there is that I rate Ings higher, I'm happy with having Saiss who's at a similar level as Boly, and I don't like spending 4.5m on a forward that does not get any minutes, meanwhile we can get 4-4.5m bench players in the defense. You'd effectively only have 1-2 playing bench players each week as things stand now.

        But go for it if you think it's going to work 🙂 nothing wrong with being different.

      Other option is Adams & Mitrovic -> Ings & 4.5 and play 4-4-2

      I’m not convinced Doherty is worth 6.0 - I’d prefer Davies or Tierney

      Havertz Puli look tasty I agree but given dicey fitness and lack of acclimatisation I'm waiting to GW3 anyway I think especially given GW2 fixture. Could be a high scoring thriller of course but prefer not here.

      Unconvinced by double 6.0 up top too. I'd make one of them Pereira - no less of a punt and think money better in midfield overall at that pay grade

    Anyone else concerned about the loss of Højbjerg on Southampton. There's a reason why Mou wanted after all. Wondering about the possible parallel with Everton last time out when they lost a key CDM

            Impossible to say

            Doubt it would be before 5/6 at the earliest personally. Nothing very much wrong with Ward who's a bit of a Roy fave I think. Knows the system and holds the line. Rarely at fault just a bit of a plodder.

            Could be much later. See Ferguson being eased in down the line - no doubt much to the displeasure of Palace fans everywhere.

          He'd be 3rd bench but feels as likely as any given the flux in that defence. If he does get regular starts he'd be easily the pick at 4.0 given Wolves.

    Think I'm somewhat locked in, in terms of structure and plan atleast. Plan was first to early WC but now I think I'll do fine with just a hit.
