A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

TAA is a definite pick, and I wouldn't want to go into the West Brom game without Werner. Which would leave you with the same decision as me: Son v Jimenez. I'm struggling to make a decision! Jimenez gives me an extra 0.5 in the bank, so I'm leaning that way at the moment, but going to sleep on it.

        Have similar thinking

Currently leaving Son out bc I think it's more likely we see games similar to the everton one where spurs are frustrated due to a lack of midfield creativity rather than a saints high line asking for trouble

If Werner doesnt deliver against the worst defence in the league and Son looks good against Newcastle then I'll probably consider the switch

You can say the same thing about loads of the premium players.
This is the biggest player pool of decent options I've ever known.
I don't think you can worry about players that you don't have, just get yourself a strong team with good fixtures and keep your fingers crossed that they perform well.

DCL. Is it border line stupidity on my part for not getting him in especially at that price? I don't rate him at all and am not buying the Everton hype? All my rivals have him so again I ask, at that price is he too good to ignore?

I guess this team means you will bench Justin for his two good fixtures in GWs 4 and 5. If so, would it be better to go for a different defender?

      Will Chilwell start tomorrow?

I would be wary about Brewster. You may want another Liverpool player at some point.

      It's very solid though.

      1. adstomko
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 12 days ago

That's my main issue yeah. Only Lamptey appeals to me in the 4.5m category. Burnley have many injuries in defence. It's a tough one.

I've had the same problem, with some drafts. I guess my issue is that Justin will be replaced long term, so perhaps in that scenario a safer 4.5 with better fixtures longer term would be useful. But Justin is certainly the best 4.5 at present.

I’m also in the Brewster and hope club.

If he seals a move to Sheff, Palace or whoever in the Prem, we will have pulled off a mighty coup.

If he doesn’t, we’ve ballsed up...

I can't see myself bringing in a 3rd Liverpool player that isn't Brewster. I can only see myself with 3 City or Wolves players (due to prices). Hmm tough one

My concern is that it prevents another Liverpool option. In that situation, you'd have to transfer him in and out to reset his club if you wanted a third Liverpool player, I think.

My thoughts are to offset Salah you need double liv defence, one is not enough and double city attack
The balance is there and close enough to allow united assets when needed

It's obviously solid but I don't think you've gained enough from going Salah-less, because you're going to have benching headaches.

Who will you bench next week, for example? Son will have the worse fixture but you cant bench him surely. And will you bench Barnes this week for James?

I'm not sure Bamford will last the course plus one good sub isn't a bad idea when people keep having to isolate.

Better to bench a 4.5 playing mid than a 5.7 striker though overall?

Soucek will be 4.9 in the morning - he's still a solid 1st sub.

Justin is going to lose him place in 2 weeks.

Personally, I'd downgrade Zaha to Soucek or Podence, and spend the 2m on Justin to Saiss or Semedo and Dunne to Lamptey

Would give you some in the bank too.

I have a weird bunch about Ings, but the masses having the alternatives does cause a bit of FOMO.

Ings is more solid, but I see what you mean, the FOMO of Werner hauling is intense!

I couldn't decide so went for both.
I spent a lot of the week with the planned transfer of Werner to Ings next week to maximise playing against WBA.
I'd go Werner and hope you don't need your transfer for anything more pressing next week.

I have DCL and Jimenez and I really can't drop either of those though. Fixtures too good and I feel Icould keep them for the entire season.

Werner has a huge upside, he could be top scorer..... Ings feels duller, but that shouldn't make my decision?
