Currently sitting at 773rd in the world, Let’s Talk FPL’s Andy gives his thoughts on upcoming fixture swings for three Premier League teams.

Double Gameweeks are some of the best parts of any FPL season, but we can often fall into the trap of tunnel vision, where we forget there are other teams and players to consider.

In this article, I wanted to take a look at some future fixture swings for teams, both in the short-term future, but also a bit longer term.

Chelsea

With the amount of rotation we’ve seen under Thomas Tuchel, I’d be a bit wary of going for too many Chelsea players, but the fixtures look kind in the near future.

  • Gameweek 27 – Everton (h)
  • Gameweek 28 – Leeds United (a)
  • Gameweek 29 – Blank
  • Gameweek 30 – West Brom (h)
  • Gameweek 31 – Crystal Palace (a)

West Brom, Leeds and Palace are all in the bottom three for expected goals conceded this season, with Everton the seventh-worst team in the league. The fixtures from Gameweek 27 look prime for goals.

With Timo Werner (£9.2m) finally getting a long-overdue goal on Monday against Newcastle United, he’s one to keep an eye on, especially with FPL managers looking at Harry Kane (£11.0m) for a potential Double Gameweek in 26. This could be an easy switch later on.

Would you get Ings on WC if DGW's 26 and 27 fixtures haven't been confirmed for the Saints before the GW25 deadline ?

I would not WC until they are not confirmed

Na. Southampton have a light orange colour code on Ben's sheet. So avoiding them altogether for 26 if fixtures not announced (getting ings on wc for 25 and changing him to vardy in 26)

If fixtures are announced today then you can attack. Even if they aren’t with triple Leeds and Ings it feels like attacking at the moment. The issue for you will be how to play the bench boost without knowing the fixtures.

I have 1 FT I could use to upgrade Kilman to Ayling.
Is there any reason why I wouldnt use my BB this week?
I plan to TC Kane in GW 26.

    Bench: Pope, Lowton, Kilman, Lookman

    Rest of team:
    Meslier
    Cancelo | Shaw | Stones
    Sterling | Bruno | JRod | JWP
    Kane | Ings | Bamford

    Thanks in advance

Go Kilman to Struijk as he is likely to remain on your bench for a few weeks after and being low cost, you wont have to waste a t/fer on him. Regarding your BB my only concern is that half of that bench has scored big already. I pulled out of BB'ing a similar bench (Pope, Lowton, Rudiger, Lookman) and already i reckon its costed me about 36 points so far and counting. But in a single GW, its more risky to get a return.

Trying to decide between Kane and Ings for 25. Already have Bamford and Raphinha.

    1) Ings - has the dgw
    2) Kane - 11G, 2A in 13 games against West Ham in all comps

fwiw - Would switch to Kane ahead of 26 anyway.

    A) Maddison, Cancelo, Targett, Struijk
    B) Barnes, Cancelo, Konsa, Dallas
    C) Maddison, Dias, Konsa, Dallas

Currently on A as Struijk looks a decent shout for the $, although after some advice I am now a little concerned he may lose his place before BGW29.

Maybe I can risk with some picks on WC. It will either go fantastic or its gonna be a disaster. Currently on 200k.
For example, I will pick TAA along with Dias instead of Cancelo/Stones and in attack I may go for Diagne

My advice would be don't do too many. One or two is more than enough to boost rank without massively exposing yourself to the template options.

You're on a great OR and you'd be surprised how far you can rise without having to risk a really disappointing drop.

      1. FPL Theorist
        • 6 Years
        5 years, 5 months ago

Yeah, their stats are so much better than Villa's, but it seems like Targett is popular even among those who would have a double with Martinez. Villa just keep getting the CS even though it defies logic.

Rudiger could be a nice differential for those who don't need max Villa for 29 (I'm FH'ing 29). Finding the cash for Alonso would be really hard for me sadly, I'd probably have to drop Ings. Would also probably mean playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 most weeks.

    I'm well busy at work...

If you take Leeds' last four would-be DGWs (i.e. adding consecutive fixture pairs for GW16-24), Raphinha returned double digits in all four compared to two for Bamford.

Bamford wins on max score (20 vs 15), but also would have blanked in one of my fake DGWs whereas there would have been some return from Raph every time.

    1. WE GO FOR IT
      • 10 Years
      5 years, 5 months ago

Raph seems to be getting a decent (7 or more) score at least once every 2/3 weeks, which helps him. Bamford is more explosive.

Bamford will be over 100%EO. So you need to captain him to gain something from both players. If you think Bamford's not gonna do well, then only Raph captain makes sense.

In terms of risk mitigation, you're right. If Raph outscores Bamford, then giving him armband pays off regardless of Bamford's EO.

Looks like I'm in the minority. FH gw25 to get 3 Leeds, 1 or 2 Sou (have 0 of either now) and some other with good fixtures. Will have a good team for dgw 26 (my old team) and TC. Then slowly build a team for gw29 and WC after to sort it...

Best choice based on what we know now, but there are more fixtures to be rearranged and who knows what will happen in the GW30s.
I think the plan to dead-end your team in 29 and WC in 30 is sound - I'm doing the same. Personally I'm so glad that I don't have to think about BB when I pull the trigger

Peronally i think theres about 5 players that need improving on that team, althoguh could get there with hits

          GW25

          Holding/Coufal to Leeds def
          Soucek to Leeds mid

          GW26
          Leeds Mid to Barnes
          Adams to watkins

          something like that

I wouldn't take a hit for one extra fixture during a busy fixture period, personally. Soucek could go straight to the preferred mid for the next X GWs, where X > 1.

    A) Barnes + Stones + Ings

    or

    A) Sterling + Dunk + Watkins

Can't see anything about 2 hours, apparently the last few fixture announcements have been at 4pm, it could be in 10 mins!

Is it likely that Southampton have back to back dgw's in 25 and 26?

See above. March fixtures rumoured to be released this evening

With the uncertainty of fixtures i've decided to conjure up a wildcard team using Ben Crellins expected gameweek fixtures. I dont have a free hit so I have had to also factor the blank in gwk 29.

    Martinez, Areola
    Reguillion,Lamptey,Stones,Cancelo,Dallas
    Fernandes,Salah,Wardprowse,Gundogun,Raphinha
    Bamford,Ings,Watkins

The plan is to wc this week and then for gw26 replace prowse and Ings for Grealish and Kane. What do you guys think

mourinho said theres a possibility he can play in europa league next week so i think he should be available for the dgwks. Reguillion also posted a video of him training with the caption "This week". I can keep him in my squad and bench him this week so long as hes available for the double

    Considering the following:
    Richarlison + Saka ➡ Kane + Minamino
    What do you think?

    McCarthy
    TAA Cancelo Stones Mee
    Bruno Gundo* Son
    Richarlison DCL* Ings(c)

    Martinez | Mitchell, Saka, ESR

    2 FTs. 6.0 ITB.

    - I can then bench Stones
    - Hopefully take advantage of Saints' and Spurs' upcoming DGWs
    - Will then already have XI potential GW25 DGWers (so might be able to save a transfer for GW27 to get more fixtures into the team)
    - Probably FH in 29 (WC/TC also available).
    - ESR saved for BUR in GW27
    - 2.0 ITB Remaining

Am I GTG or is something standing out?
Note that I'm maxed out on Leeds, so bringing in Bamford would cost me.

    Meslier
    Cancelo Cresswell Dallas
    Raphinha(C) Salah Bruno G'dogan Soucek
    Antonio Ings

    Martinez AWB Watkins Dias

Need to know how many FTs you have to answer, really. Assuming 1, based on the Bamford comment? In which case, Antonio > Kane would likely be my move.

Cavani injury - just an excuse to leave him out of the Europa Cup surely?

Can't say for certain with muscle injuries. Hope someone asks him about Cavani after the Europa game.

The wording here suggests the "doubts" could start the next EPL game; VDB, Cavani are more serious, Pogba is the most serious

    For gw26 and onwards...

    A) Kane, Son, Brewster
    B) Kane, Raphinha, Ings

Depends on what your strathey for the DGW/BGW. If BBing, surely not A. If you don't have FH, with A, you already have the 2 expesnsive players you'd want for GW29. Getting Raph in there should be easier than Son.
