Joe, Seb and Andy help Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers prepare for Gameweek 2 and reveal their teams.

Already there have been significant price rises and transfer activity, even though the dust from Gameweek 1 has barely settled. But are these emerging bandwagons justified? Or will FPL managers regret making moves so early?

Our Scoutcast trio look at the key assets to generate interest, with Manchester United’s points-hauling maestros topping the bill.

Red Devils fan Andy leads the crew in a chat about the merits of hat-trick hero Bruno Fernandes (£12.1m) as Gameweek 2 captain, the sustainability of Paul Pogba (£7.6m)’s creativity and where attacker Mason Greenwood (£7.5m) fits in as other strikers start returning from injury and rest.

Seb takes a look at the biggest underachievers and overachievers according to the statistics. This includes a focus on whether Manchester City’s stars showed enough threat against Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 1 to put Norwich City to the sword this weekend.

In true dullard style, Joe considers the unfashionable scorers in the season-opening set of fixtures to find out if any could be in vogue soon.

FPL points predictions for Gameweek 3 and beyond 3

This is a theme Joe carries on into the team’s differential discussion with a cheap goalkeeper firmly in his sights. Thankfully, Andy and Seb recommend more exciting, attacking options to give balance.

There are the next four fixtures to frisk, too, with Brentford emerging as having the kindest run.

Elsewhere, Joe grapples with the show’s eye-catching new graphics with mixed results, accidentally transferring Liverpool players to Manchester United at one point.

Seb, Joe and Andy’s Gameweek 1 performances are looked at, with one of them joining the exclusive ‘100 club’.

There are teams and captaincy decisions to reveal and also a chance to catch up on the Scoutcast’s management of a veteran Fantasy manager’s side, who has had to dip out of this campaign for mental health reasons. With a top 100 finish last season, the pressure is truly on to maintain his strong record.

      Roll for sure.

      You have to play Mahrez v Norwich. Even if there’s a risk he’s benched.

      Velt will be back soon. If not this GW then next, but you shouldn't need him this anyway.

    Does anyone have any Chelsea intel? I've got Havertz so was disappointed to see him bench last week. I assume he's part of their first choice XI and was only rested because of playing in the Super Cup. So does he regain his start? What about Lukaku, will they compete for starts given Kai's played false 9 frequently?

      Tuchel said it gives them the option of playing with 2 strikers like Lukaku did with Milan. The attack will be built around Lukaku. Havertz will play regularly but not nailed.

        Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech(when he return from injury), Werner(now he won't start up front), and Havertz will now fight for the front 2 CAMs alongside Lukaku up front. Out of the bunch I would say only Mount is nailed. Werner/Pulisic/Ziyech will be preferred when Tuchel want speed at counter, while Havertz will likely to be used when Tuchel want more height in the frontline, although Lukaku does provide that already.

      Think Havertz will be starting once Lukaku is in the team. I'd hang on to him personally might be a painful couple of weeks but will probably regret getting rid once there fixtures swing and he's playing regular.

      If I was Tuchel I would keep Jorginho as the main pen taker. Lukaku does not have a very good track record with them, at least not when he was with Utd. One of the few pens DDG saved in PL is from Lukaku in a Everton shirt.. that says something, because DDG doesn't save pens.

        I'm considering Duffy or Williams if he goes to Norwich even though that's pretty much a guaranteed 1/2 pointer most weeks. Will have to see if Duffy can stake a claim long-term but Potter spoke highly of his attitude in preseason

    Enjoying the Scoutcasts as usual. Also really enjoyed the content on here recently - articles from the pro pundits have been useful and well-written.     Set my team up for BB week 1 so have a benching headache.

    Sarr has worst fixture but is as nailed as they get. Jota will be subbed on minimum and can get his goal so that leaves Torres but it's Norwich at home!

      It depends if your risk averse or not.

      Follow the crowd is start Jota (less minutes of the lot) and bench sarr.

      I’d go against the curve and bench Jota

      Jota more than capable of scoring even if he comes on from bench. Torres may play, may not, and less likely to score IMO. I'd bench him.

        This. In fact one of the drawbacks of him starting is that he’ll probably get hooked for the last 20-25 mins, which is when the game opens up.

        This is my thinking, Jota can easy get a brace in 20 mins and Torres most likely for a 1 pointer. Plus eo means Torres best to bench also, would hate a 12 pointer from Jota on my bench

    Barnes -> Benrahma? Would leave me 1.5M ITB to work towards Toney & Brownhill -> Grealish & Obafemi if Grealish fires. Looks like Benrahma will rise tonight so I would be priced out if I wait.

    I still like Barnes as an option (although little concern about often being subbed early) but Benrahma seems a solid option for 1.0M less. Not too much difference between WHU and LEI in next 5 fixtures.

    White vs Chelsea (on bench so rolls transfer)

    Hey guys, really hesitating between Bruno or Salah for captain (arent we all).. Salah's record vs Burnley not the best but first game back at Anfield.. Utd away form was amazing last year and saints look pretty leaky and average... Anyone care to convince me on one or the other?

          Yeah I have Salah, and a more expensive front line including Vardy. I must admit after the hatrick in GW1 I am nervous about not having him but I couldn't change now anyway without taking a hit, and it's early days so anything can happen still.

      I think Raphinha is the best but there is the Brazil call up. Sarr is worth consideration. 2 seasons ago in his first year in the premier league as a 21 year old in a relegated Watford team he played 2023 mins and got 107 points

        Thats amazing mate.. around 19min get 1 point. One game equal around 4.7 ppm and can get 178 if the rate is consistent. For 6.0 150 is already good.

      Unless we hear robbo is back early I would personally prefer Tsimikas to Torres. Just feel like after his performance v spares there's a chance he's dropped for Jesus.

      I know the issue though, you drop him and he will start up front against Norwich.

      Very unlikely. Rudiger Thiago Silva Christensen should be the first choice cb pairing, not to mention Zouma and Azpicueta(who does play rwb and rcb) and rumors of chelsea trying to sign Kounde from Sevilla as well.

        Fair, for the first two game. The info post-GW1 isn’t the same as pre-GW1 though.

        We saw a ideas-less City team and a poor performance for Mahrez, whereas Spurs looked extremely confident, played well and Son did his job.

        Hence me already considering the move prior to GW3

          Spurs have this very annoying habit of looking great against some teams like City. Then they go back to losing at home to Brighton. City on the other hand, do tend to struggle against the big boys. Then when at home to the minnows, they go in to full in bulldozing mode. I’d say Mahrez is a great captain choice this week. This is the game you got him for, not the last!
