Does make a £4.0m defender an obvious pick. Everyone will have one. I guess the differentiator will be if you ever play them

I reckon Dyche is not hanging on to Branthwaite for nothing, so he'll be in a back three Everton line out for most of the season - and I'm a lifelong Evertonian (God help me!)

Not saying they’re going to set anyone ablaze just that their defense wasn’t a fluke (also had a low Xg) and that their fans say their system is a well-drilled one

Anybody got an opinion on who starts between Vinicious and Jiminez?

Vinicious has always seemed decent when he has played and he does seem to have quite a big physical threat, so is kind of similar to Mitro in many ways.

Bridges with Mitro seem to have been burned and I expect him to be sold.

    1. ᶠᶦˡᵗʰʸLucre $$$
      • 11 Years
      3 years, 8 days ago

Yeah Mitro looks a goner. Not entirely sure if the manager even knows who will start in his place - he might want a longer look at Jiménez first before throwing him in, but I wouldn't be very confident.

      1. TheTinman
        • 10 Years

Vini is the sort of player who could rise by £1m in price in the first 10GW or so. May be a calculated gamble to include as an option which you don't need to rely on to start.

        1. Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo
          • 5 Years

I'm flip-flopping between 2 drafts, one of which has Vini because Fulham have strong fixtures in the more challenging gameweeks (2/5/8).
But I really think Silva prefers Jimenez or it could be a 45 min each kind of thing - which is of no value.

Yeah, agreed, don't think it'll be long before Raul is first choice. Silva said this the other day.

"About Raul, he’s more experienced, you can see in just 45 minutes how he is going to help the team. It was a very good second half from him, he made an impact that I wanted to see in the second half, linking our game, holding the ball, some good movements inside the box as well. I’m sure that if you’re going to provide for him like we normally provide for our strikers, then he is going to make a difference because I believe that he’s a great addition for us.”

Good day all. Expect to be berated for lack of Haaland but I quite like the feel of this team, bit of fun anyway. Benching Chelsea as I'm a Liverpool fan! Any feedback on this is greatly appreciated:

    Areola
    TAA - Stones - Shaw
    Saka - Son - Foden - Rashford - Martinelli
    Darwin - Joao Pedro
    (Flekken - Nkunku / Jackson - James - Gusto)

too many risky picks and not seeing the value in this team to skip Haaland.

didnt mean to be so harsh, but ur strikers, foden and Martinelli and stones are all risky picks so I would remove half of them definitely the strike force and get more nailed picks, going without Haaland is a big risk so it should be for a very strong team overall to offset that.

Im saying this from experience I tried something similar last season and those back to back hattys at the start of the season dropped me to like 3-4m and took me most of the season to recover and finish in a 6 figure rank (which is still pretty terrible but was difficult to make back rank last year)

      Areola

      (Flekken - Chukwuemeka - Beyer - Bell)

    5. Wrong Captain Choice - Ag i…
      • 17 Years

No Salah or Haaland??? The bravest team I have seen.

The main quibbles I have with it are

      1) Areola will he start?

      2) Gusto uses up one of your Chelsea slots unnecessarily - better off going for Kabore from Luton an attacking wingback 4.0m

      3) Darwin - he will drive you mad. I would prefer Gakpo more versatile - better player

      4) I also would have Fernandes instead of Son giving you .5 to get a much simpler - Watkins. Way better striker instead of Darwin guaranteed starts and pens.
      -
To be honest it looks close to a bench boost team for gw3 - have you considered that?

      1. Woodzie
        • 7 Years

Bit the bullet and shredded 30% of the team to get the blonde freak in! Reposted as a comment to my original post.

Areola's the best shot at a starting 4.0 IMO. Gusto was a ready made replacement for when James inevitably breaks, but have taken him out for now. I just like Darwin as a player and was willing to take a risk, if he does settle and start firing I can quite quickly do Jackson > him. Got a good feeling about Son this year... at 9.0 I think he could be amazing value, will give him a month to prove himself and, if not, can step to any 7.5 - 9.0 replacement in a heartbeat

      Onana (Areola)
Saliba/ Chilwell/ (Rotate one of Baldock, Bell, Beyer)
      Salah/ Bruno/ KDB/ Foden (Diaby)
      Darwin/Jackson/Watkins

Dependend on KDB being fit obviously, leaves half million in bank for moves at the back and fifth midfielder.

    Posted on the wrong article*

    Thoughts on this team ?

    Onanana (Areloa)
    James Cash Gabriel (Tark Kabore)
    Salah Saka Bruno Mitoma Trossard*
    Haaland Wissa (Mubama)

I had Buendia in place of Trossard and 1m itb, so could go back to that or another 6 ot 6.5 mid and keep 0.5 or 1m itb.

will decide based over the next week but thoughts on this lot ?

Nkunku seems to have mainly start on the left/up front.
Chukwuemeka has started 4/5 friendlies and Poch's comments seem to suggest so...

Yeah, there is a good chance Chukwuemeka starts v Liverpool.

No guarantees longer-term though. Mudryk played well last night so could easily play left with Nkunku (if fit) in behind Jackson.

Colwill (4.5) should start at the back, too.

Quite a bit of noise now that Livramento to Newcastle is back on. Could potentially take some minutes from Trippier if it goes through. Potentially Trippier or him could line up as left back in the future. Depends on Howe views him slotting into the team. He could even be an option as a RW.

Yeah> Anderson is 27, while Guehi is 23 (and has "English Tax" and now caps.)

So although Anderson is better because of his passing and XG at set pieces), Guehi is the better Defender IMO, Anderson is worth 30-40M to Palace and Guehi is 60m+ as they both have 3-year contracts left.

It fits into Palace's new model of buying low and younger and selling high.

Doucoure last year £25m was the latest one. Lerma was a bargain on a free.

We need a couple of full-backs, another winger and a striker. Not easy, so we have to sell Anderson to raise the Funds.

Olise injury until the Int break was a blow, Probably 2nd Int break for his fitness until he returns.

            So Eze is the talisman

Just spent £18m on Brazilian Franca from Flamingo

I'm glad, to be honest, because it's been bugging me. Love what Trippier's brought to Newcastle but he's not Benjamin Button. Nice little understudy relationship on the cards there.

Ashby looks good at right back and should benefit from a season on loan to Swansea.

There are quite a few academy signings going on in the background as well. Hopefully some of them will come through in future seasons.

If Kane leaves Spurs do you prefer Richarlison or Trossard for 7.0?

If Kane leaves Rich will be oop striker unless they sign a direct replacement but more likely they use the funds to get some decent CBs in. Rich will be more nailed in that situation than trossard also.
Having said all that I do like Trossard as a differential pick and he could also play up top in Jesus absence but all that is still up in the air.

I don't consider a team without Salah, but on the face of it, A seems mile better to me. Could Richarlison become another option at B?

This draft is what I really wanna do with Trent and Salah I’m just concerned that the bench is too weak, pedro rotation risk, starting henry isn’t the best and is only 1 arsenal attacker bad?

    Onana
    Trent Gabriel Estu Henry
    Salah Saka Bruno Mbuemo
    Haaaland Pedro

    Areola Kabore Ahamada Mubama

Personally I'd want at least 2 Arsenal offensive players. I think you are having to make too many sacrifices to get both TAA and Salah in. With Pool looking no better at the back I'd probably downgrade TAA and use the funds to strengthen squad.

On this now just feels really template

        Onana
        Stones Gabriel Estu
        Rashford Saka Martinelli Foden March
        Haaland Darwin

        Areola Chilwell Kabore Mubama

Plenty of upside there. Obvious one but no Rashford is a big rank threat. The upside of only having 2 Arsenal is that it would be easier to pivot to your 3rd once we have a bit more info on how things will go without Jesus.

Not sure about that. Could be wrong but I think Chelsea lose a lot of their attacking threat without Nkunku. Not massively confident that the likes of Sterling, Mudryk, Madueke and Chukwuemeka will provide enough for Jackson.

I currently have 3 risky midfielders (Foden, Diaz, and Martinelli) and Foden is likely to be the one I sacrifice.

The last few weeks on here have been great. Some thoughtful, amusing, and insightful discussions.
Now it's time for me to disappear as I really struggle with some of the current posts that are impossible to answer.
Have a great start to the season everyone and I'll just be an observer for the next 10 days or so.

Thr RMT is a bit drawn out because they're all good with variations and 1 or 2 questions about minutes etc. for certain players.

I've been sat on Gabirel in Def in every draft so far, but now with Jesus out, considering 3 Arsenal Mids, too much? Ode or Marti could be Torssard to beef up bench/swap to Onana

    Pickford
    Chilwell Estu Botman
    Saka Odegaard Marti Rashford Bruno
    Haaland Jackson

    Areola Pau Archer Beyer

Arsenal have good clean sheet potential at the start of the season so I'd keep him in, plenty of good mids out there.
