Digne. And Konsa at RB. Emery may play only one true wing back, if Cash then Pau pseudo-LB, if Digne then Konsa pseudo-RB

Yes, that's my worry, Brighton seem to have a lot of rotatable players and with Europe this year too... I've also vowed to pick a more 'nailed' team (see below) this year but can't blame people being tempted at that price.

I imagine he starts or comes on most games, been their best player, Mitoma is so wasteful, cost an extra million and could get less minutes too this season.

After thinking I was going to do little or no Chelsea (at least to start with), apart from possibly Chilwell, with the Nkunku injury I've now gone from cold to lukewarm on Jackson and find myself considering Colwill too at what looks like a tempting price point too.

Curious what other people's thoughts are, particularly after Nkunku news, jump in or wait and see how things settle?

I've vowed to pick a much more nailed team this year, but three players I've mentioned all seem pretty nailed right now, particularly with Nkunku out...

Colwill at 4.5m has to be worth buying with those fixtures. Due to injuries, he's their only LCB option (afaik).

You can bench him at that price too.

Those going without Salah - if he scores big in the first few GWs do you plan to WC to get him in?

Most of my drafts haven't included him but am now thinking it's a lot easier to shift him if he's underperforming rather than try to bring him in if he goes crazy. His EO scares me.

    1. Drexl Spivey

I was very happy to go only one premium and probably will, but people pointing out that matches will likely be longer this season with the extra injury team and Salah usually one of the players less likely to get subbed (or at least much closer to the end) does add to the temptation to put him in too.

Either they’ll WC to get him in……

Or, they have accepted that he’s going to haul from time to time and they’re gonna miss out on it, but they are confident that the other players they were able to get with the freed up funds from not having Salah will compensate that.

I suspect their thinking lies in one of those two camps..

I looked at it but the Wildcard option seemed way too messy to me.
Looking at what I would be transferring out and Liverpool's very mixed fixtures after gw2 I am not sure it is worth it.
There is always the option of getting another forward/midfielder or even TAA further down the line.

I dumped Jackson for Watkins on the back of the news. But at the same time I realised that it suddenly makes Mudryk an option FPL wise at 6.5m

        I understand.
Would like TAA but that's not happening but many will have him. Feel VVD is a nice counter to that choice.

He has also basically scored 180+ (3/4 past seasons)

That's pretty consistent and not many players costing 6 come close to that (all positions included)

Just a way to figure out how to win

        I'll give it a shot

Disregarding the Haaland issue, I actually like this draft a lot, with the one exception of VVD. It's a decent spread of players while keeping the 2 premium options of Kane and Salah. Personally I'd probably just downgrade VVD to someone like Chilwell and do Maddison > Martinelli.

Obvioulsy none of these guys is a terrific pick. I actually have both Baldock and Beyer in my team currently, though that's likley to change after a few weeks. Baldock is play*able* GWs 1 and 2 and has some attacking threat (or did last time he was in the PL). Beyer could play GWs 3 and 5 in a pinch. FWIW, RMT has Baldock > Beyer > Kabore for projected points over first 6 GWs.

Baldock has a game in GW2, the other two don’t. All you really need to think about for a 4m fodder pick.

Do Chelsea have the worst transfer/scouting policy out of all clubs? Am i right in saying Nkunku was injured a lot in the previous season?

Yeah, he missed half the season through injury last year - one of which being a torn knee ligament.

Chelsea are likely to going to lineup on Sunday like this:

      Kepa
      James - T Silva - Colwill - Chilwell
      Gallagher - Enzo
      Sterling - Chukwuemeka - Mudryk
      Jackson

Huge question marks over the whole team really and still so much bloat to shift, shocking management.

I will be amazed if Maatsen doesn’t start on Sunday. I have him and Andrey Santos in for Sterling and Chukwemeka from your team

Just proves my point about poor management when £50m signing brought in last summer can't get into the first team over an unproven academy player. Chukwuemeka another one.

That defence is a disaster waiting to happen anorl.

In fairness since Tuchel left Sterling has been a disgrace.

Pre season he’s been utterly useless and Maatsen and Mudryk have looked sharp - Sterling will be on pens if he plays so 7m could be value if he gets games, but Poch seems a fan of Maatsen so be surprised if he doesn’t play.

Sterling is just part of the aimless recruitment we're talking about though - anybody could see that he'd regressed at City, so giving them £50m for him was crazy, especially with your need for a proper goal-scorer.

I'd probably go Johnstone and Eze assuming you're starting the keeper every week? Don't presume you have another 2 Palace which is going to block it.

Nah the only reason I'm asking is because I don't feel that comfortable on having 2 eggs in one mediocre team basket. Could have e.g. Johnstone and Eze as well

I don't see it as an issue when it's not double defence or double attack.

I think 3 Arsenal for the first 3 GWs is necessary so I'd say B. But, I have Bruno instead of Rashford cause I think he's a better option long term, so I guess I can't talk!

      I'd rank them:

      Saka
      Odegaard
      Bruno
      Rashford
      Martinelli

      But they're all good choices.

Best triple Premium team I've seen, but that midfield still looks scary, relying on top points for haaland, salah and kane, let's hope they deliver!!

Likely have some starts/mins issue with Ensico and Garnacho. All depends on the combinations of players e.g. Kane and Enciso vs Watkins and Rashford

Feels like any no Haaland team should have Kane, Salah, Rash, and Saka to make sure you have the other high-owned premiums(ish), but definitely a lovely squad. Personally would downgrade Trippier to Shaw/Stones/Chilwell to go Bruno to Rash and Martinelli to Saka.
