    Just… keep… tinkering…

    Onana, Areola
    Stones, Gabriel, Estupiñan (Chilwell, Baldock)
    Rashford, Saka, Odegaard, Mitoma, Eze
    Haaland, Nuñez (Mubama)

Rough idea is to transfer Eze for Diaz GW2, and then Diaz to Maddison moving forwards.

As a Liverpool fan im not keen on Trent at the minute. Our defence look shaky and doubt we will keep many CS early in the season. Szobo is on a lot of corners now also which limits TAA assist potential, so would say B

My most left field picks are Udogie and Keane Lewis-Potter.

Udogie because he’s cheap and has been playing so far forward in pre season, seems nailed enough.

Lewis-Potter has been playing left wing, is very direct, should get decent minutes and there’s absolutely no other options at 5m.

If I change Salah + Pedro to Kane + 5.5m I’ll also have Ian Maatsen as a very left field pick.

Have watched us closely pre season and he’s been fantastic, I think he’s very likely to start the season on the right side or as number 10 and some great early fixtures

Have had salah in my draft for the last week, but feel it makes it a bit too unbalanced i.e. had very weak bench, and a few rotation risks like J Pedro, missed out on watkins etc. So have reverted back to original plan....pretty template I know

Anything you would suggest improving here? have 0.5 in the bank so could do Pickford to Onana...

    Pickford (areola)
    Gabriel, Estupian, Chilwell (cash, kabore)

    Watkins, Haaland (mubama)

GW1 and GW4 for Villa are really unattractive, you'd anticipate 2 pointers for Watkins in those matches. Will he get enough points in the other two matches to make up for it? Personally, I would go with Wissa, and either use the 2.5 to improve areas, or hang onto it for an inevitable bandwagon.

How many super premiums (12+) is everyone planning? I was originally thinking of just Haaland as allows a nice team, but now considering one of Salah/Kane as it will be hard to get either of these in later if they become essential.

Pick a team you like with good balance rather than pick two expensive players and the rest to fit in there with them. If one of them looks essential to you later take a few hits or wildcard.

      Haaland and Salah for me.

Assuming Kane stays, I like the fact that he and Salah are the same price. If you go with neither, they're very hard to upgrade to if you've spread the funds and opted for the template 8m mids and premium defence.

I'm also keeping 0.5m ITB in case of any early price rises.

I can't see paying for Chilwell but not playing him. If you're going 3-5-2, then just pick your best 3 defenders and play them every week. There are enough playing 4.0 defenders to provide cover

The 6.5m mids are the differentials.
The defence and attack is fairly template

Mitoma and Mbeumo have the best opening fixtures.

        Eze has looked the best
Diaby probably in the best team but unproven
        Pedro makes Mitoma irrelevant
        Mbeumo still a good option

In what way do you think Pedro makes Mitoma irrelevant?

Eze and Diaby I'll consider when their fixtures improve.

Anyone thinking about Trossard for Gameweek 1? Surely more likely than Nketiah and had a great pre season?

Thoughts on this Salah and Haaland draft?

    Onana-(4.0)
    Gabriel-Estu-Chilwell-(Botman-4.0)
    Saka-Salah-Rashford-Chukwu-Mitoma
    Haaland-Jackson-(4.5)

I like it, I'd go Onana to 4.5, then upgrade to Pedro @ 5.5M. You then have Brighton attacking coverage if you wanted to move Mitoma to Eze or Mbeumo

I do find it surprising that so many are keen to pay 5.5 for Stones or any City defender for that matter. Stones was the highest scoring MCI defender last season with 93. Tim Ream and Eric Dier scored more than him. There is simply too much rotation and without a major attacking asset like Cancelo of seasons past, I think it makes more sense to go for a Botman or a Mings and invest the cash elsewhere.

Stones makes no sense to me either, would rather a nailed, attacking 4.5 defender plus the extra mil

We are not picking City defenders for the whole season. Just for the start before UCL where I don't think rotation will be high

City CB pairings leading up to the CL last season:

        Dias - Ake (Charity Shield)
        Dias - Ake
        Dias - Ake
        Stones - Ake
        Dias - Walker (friendly)
        Stones - Dias
        Stones - Dias
        Stones - Dias
Akanji - Dias (first CL game)

Need more context. Setup has changed since the start of last season where Cancelo was first choice inverting LB, Ake played LCB until he got injured in GW3 against Newcastle. Stones wasn't playing in the inverted role until later than season.

I'm happy to double up on City defenders.
      1. I see last season as an anomaly, and the back line is significantly strengthened with Gvardiol.
      2. City and Arsenal's defences are a level above all others in the PL.
      3. In the first 8 GWs I see them having the highest CS
After that I lose them for Villa defenders.

They definitely have the best defence, and Gvardiol should make them even stronger. He adds to the rotation though, and I personally don't fancy backing two assets to start the first 8 gameweeks.

They conceded the fewest goals last season along with Newcastle didn't they? Arsenal conceded 10 more. They keep the most clean sheets because of how dominant they are but their defenders don't score many points other than that.

the new hybrid role pep gave him was late last season so not fair to factor in his total points tally, he's an attacking threat now playing oop and for me the best player on the pitch in the CL final . wouldnt be going anywhere near him if it was just playing standard CB

You're almost there IMO. I wouldn't have Shaw & Onana though, 1 Utd defence is enough. Botman tough fixtures at the start so you don't really want to be starting him. You could do Onana to 4.5, Ode to Mart then you have some spare to play about with.

    How am I looking?

    Onana (4.0)
    Saliba - Udogie / Colwill / Cash / Baldock
    Salah - Fernandes - Diaz - Martinelli (4.5)
    Haalang - Watkins - Pedro

    Cheers

Defense is a bit shaky, you need another certain starter there.
Midfield, personally I don't think 2 Liverpool mids is a good option, would rather Saka & Mart. So for me, i'd replace Diaz
      Front 3 I agree with

Tons of options in the Maddison/kulusevski price bracket - Rashford is better than Son at 9m and Kane is so expensive and future was up in the air.

Seen the full backs in a fair few teams, I’m on Udogie and will get Kane in gw3 if he’s still there
