Davies has been playing at LCB, so VdV II might push Davies to LB.

I'm not sure a Spurs defender is worth it even with 100% certainty of starts, but the threat of Davies, a manager favourite, would certainly give enough doubt for me to avoid.

It's said Posty doesn't bother with defence and has a quasi-Keggy Keegan philosophy.
However, it looks to me that he's assembles a decent defence here - could surprise people. I've pencilled in Udogie for a low-cost early transfer.

Well Emerson seems to be preferred over Porro, so can't be that gung ho.

Having capable defenders can allow you to kill counter attacks immediately and keep pressure in the opposition half. One of the best ways to be aggressive. It's why Pep plays 5 CBs most games, if you include Rodri. Postecoglou strikes me as a manager that will look to prioritise the press & control in a similar way.

Anyone brave enough to go Szoboszlai?

He was on left sided corners even with Trent on the field (another reason not to go TAA). He's got a decent shot on him and will have set pieces. Looks fairly nailed too.

        I posted this earlier:

I'm happy to double up on City defenders.
        1. I see last season as an anomaly, and the back line is significantly strengthened with Gvardiol.
        2. City and Arsenal's defences are a level above all others in the PL. 3. In the first 8 GWs I see them having the highest CS After that I lose them for Villa defenders.

Stones, Pep is (currently) obsessed with him, so less rotation risk - you can then ship out when Pep gets 'fed up' with him.

It's awkward for me. Even if he's starting right now, he can't be a long term play, so you end up with some funds on your bench pretty soon.

If we thought he could hold that spot longer term then he'd be worth building your whole team around...

    G: Johnstone
    D: Chillwell, Estupinan, Gabriel,+4.5 defender, + Kabore.

4.5 defender will start since going 4-4-2 with Salah?

Best 4.5 defender to go with this team? Colwill seems not good if I have Chillwell. Tarkovski, Cash/Pau, or Henry? This way I am diversifying the back 4. Botman has horrible fixtures to start or else he is best long term

I was all over Henry until his injury... Pinnock could be good

Swear they get stingier each year with the 4.5 mids - but then we did end up with Andreas after his loan move but can't see anything substantial changing the 4.5 mid market by Friday

      There's a marvellous 4.5 mid!

Forgot about him - a bench of promoted team players.... marvellous

Will Salah owners captain him over Haaland in GW2?

I sense that's the chief reason for getting him now.

what do you think about this - suggest any changes?

    Pickford
    Shaw / James /Gabriel
    Salah / Foden / Saka /Mitoma
    Haaland / Nunez / Wissa

    Areola / Botman / Beya / Ndombele

Nunez down and foden to rashford or bruno, probably the former. United have great fixtures and foden will be enevitably be frustrating to own

Nice one, yeah that’s what I was thinking about foden.. never quite delivers consistently does he

Yeah more the guaranteed minutes than consistently but guess they go hand in hand. Pep will rotate

What is the case against Kane at this point? Do people still think it's realistic that he leaves? It seems like he could be a differentiator at this point.

The case against is having both him and Haaland is very expensive. You prolly won't captain Kane enough to justify the expense.

        Right, I hear that.

I'm just seeing a lot more Salah and I think I like Kane over Watkins more than I like say Salah over Saka.

Having initially gone without Salah (and Liverpool given rotation risk) I’m now reconsidering and have what feels like two very template teams, the difference being:

    A) Salah + 4.5m bench striker
    B) Rashford + Watkins, giving a Mitoma v Joao Pedro bench decision

    Rest of team:

    Onana + 4.0
    Gabriel, Esta, Chilwell, 4.0, 4.0
    Saka, Bruno, Maddison, Mitoma
    Haaland, Joao Pedro

    A) has Salah and a cheap bench
    B) Watkins price gives a bit of flexibility on second striker

    Any thought/ suggestions?

      A) Go for Salah and reassess after Bmouth game-> potential move to KDB and reallocate the 2mio

    What would you choose:

    A) Trossard & Saka
    B) Martinelli & Maddison
    C) Downgrade Onana to 4.5 GK and go for Saka & Maddison

    Which is better and why?

    1:
    Onana (Areola)
    Gabriel, Estupian, Pau, Shaw (Beyer)
    Rash, Saka, Martinelli, Eze (Enciso)
    Haaland, Watkins (Wissa)

    2:
    Onana (Areola)
    Botman, Estupian, Chilwell, Shaw (Beyer)
    Rash, Saka, Mbueno, Eze (Philogene)
    Haaland, Kane (Wissa)

1 because your spreading your potential points over a larger number of people. The trouble with the premiums is when they misfire - the rest of your 2 team will not compensate for the missing points - in my opinion

    Any comments on

    Onana
    Estupinan, Gabriel, Pedro, Stones
    Rashford, Eze, Mitoma, Saka
    Haaland, Wissa

    Bench Pickford, Andreas, Watkins, James

Would like to get a Liverpool player in too, but bar Salah not sure who will perform. A previous draft had Darwin and TAA, but don't know if TAA will start in defence or further forward and Darwin - needs some consistency. Thoughts / comments gratefully received.

Feels solid from back to front and not too weak a bench. Would have wanted to play Watkins as second strike option but hoping Rashford's goal will cover it. Also not thrilled with Pickford but it's a toss up between him and Leno, and Everton's fixtures I think look better. Thoughts appreciated!

    Pickford / Turner

    Gabriel / Estu / Mings / Botman / Bell

    Saka / Rashford / Salah / Mitoma / Mbeumo

    Wissa / JPedro / Haaland

What do you think of my initial draft?

    Steele/Areola
    Estup/Colwill/Gabriel/Dias/Beyer
    Rashford/Salah/Mitoma/Martinelli/Saka
    Haaland/Osula/Mubama

    Any changes?
