I'm not sure about that. Sheff Utd were the better side in the Championship last season but not by much and they've lost a couple of key players they had on loan from Man City from the promotion side and lost N'Diaye and rumours about Sander Berge. There is a lot of turmoil off the pitch at Sheffield United whereas Luton are just delighted to be there and have no pressure and bar the Goalkeeper haven't lost any players. I think long-term Baldock has a lot of competition on his hands once Jayden Bogle is fit whereas Luton's are probably nailed.

Havertz is utter garbage and Trossard unlikely to get the mins. Would still pick Tross though, I would be embarrassed having Havertz in my fantasy team, feel sorry for Arsenal supporters having him in their actual team.

Diaz is definitely tempting but I thought Odegaard looked lively in preseason and he's the only other nailed attacker really in the Arsenal 11.

Bruno to Son, I'm not sure I fancy Tottenham yet. See what happens. I've got a feeling the armband will galvanise Bruno though. Not so worried about subs as my 11 should all start.

I've gone Flekken, Shaw, Mitoma for Onana, Gabriel and Eze but rest the same.

Avoiding Gabriel/Saliva currently as quite like the option to bring in a 3rd Arsenal attack if/when clearer who will play. I also thought we looked shaky in defence preseason but could all change.

Onana to Flekken allowed Shaw and money. Mitoma over Eze may haunt me.

They’ve just lost their best player and are the only team in the league to not make a signing. The targets they’re chasing are McTominay, Maguire and Ward-Prowse, which might go down as the worst window of all time, and their dinosaur manager is only there because he won a tinpot trophy.

They’ll be closer to 20th than 10th depending on when they finally put Moyes out to pasture.

I don't watch arsenal much so for those that do what makes Odegaard a more appealing pick over Martinelli?

It's just minutes. Martinelli tends to get subbed off earlier than Odegaard. Martinelli should have more attacking threat when he's on the pitch. Both good options.

Ode is 100% nailed, also people are speculating that Ode could now be on pennos, in 2 penalty shootouts pre season he took the first one and buried it, Saka missed another pen vs Barcelona and looked really nervous taking the 3rd one in the cs at the weekend, if Ode does have pens then that is huge

Martinelli is much more at risk of reduced minutes with Trossard and Havertz sharing some pitchtime.

Odegaard is a real quality player. Class act. Very clean. Your mum would like him.

Martinelli is going to be Arsenal’s top scorer this year, missed a few games through injury last season & scored the same number of goals as Odegaard while getting 1 assist more & only scored 14 points less in less mins.

I don't have the balls for it but I do think Rashford and/or Saka will outscore Haaland.

Already have Bruno. Last decision comes down to:
    A) Rashford and TAA
    or
    B) Salah and Botman

So, now for something completely different - obviously can be blown out the water if Kane goes.

    Onana, (4.0)
    Estupi, Chillwell, Saliba, (Cash) (Beyer)
    Salah, Saka, Rashford, Kulu, Maddison
    Kane, JP, (4.5)

I have an alternate normal pretty template Haland team, (with Saka, Rashford, Martinelli, Madison, Bruno in m/f and Jackson fwd).
But this just feel more exciting 🙂

    Pickford
    Chilwell Saliba Estupinan
    KDB Rashford Bruno Saka Eze
    Haaland Pedro

    Udogie Beyer

0.5 ITB to potentially get Reece James/ City defender in GW3 for Saliba/Estupinan

You know what, screw rank, the template is bumming me out. Might go for something with a bit more flair.

    Johnstone
    Chilwell - Estu - Stones
De Bruyne - Rashford - Havertz - Saka - Mitoma
    Haaland - Jackson

    Shame Kolarov isn't available.

If you open your mind up too much, your brain will fall out.

But you make a good point, just done Stones -> James.

I think it was Ollie Watkins. Just looking at him in my team made me sad 😆

I think Arteta is in love.

"He was superb. The way he pressed and how intelligent he is to try and understand certain spaces and the timing of it, he was great and got in great positions to score. He was unlucky not to score but he was very physical when he needed to be, so I was very pleased with him." - Arteta on Havertz vs City

I think I agree with him though! Was so unlucky not to score against City. Did well to get a couple of shots away in tight areas.

Arteta is like that guy who obsesses over a girl and has complete tunnel vision if he thinks there’s a chance to be with her.

He wanted to sign Raya and Havertz years ago and now he’s done it without really thinking whether it’s a good or bad idea.

That’s the problem if you play for rank. It’s the most boring way to play. Playing for winnable mini leagues is the way.

10 years ago I used to be more maverick and had more fun with the game. I've gotten way too dullard.

Just finished watching The FPL Wire and my team was so close to Zoph's template team it was painful. I think Lateriser has lit an old spark in me.

You enjoy the game more if you’re picking players that you actually like that here would be considered far too risky. If you pull it off you get a much bigger high. The trick is to select your competition. Can you find a casuals mini league that you have a chance of winning? Playing for rank is boring. You’re never going to win the game and if you do achieve a good rank nobody cares anyway. Totally pointless. I’ve had multiple top 10 and 1k ranks. I enjoy the game much more these days.

C'mon - away to Chelsea GW1 then Newcastle GW3 - I love to watch Salah and enjoy his contribution, but in this game you need to resist sentiment and look at other options. It's only my opinion that even if Salah scores in one of those games, I'll be happy for those that chose him, however, my team will be so much stronger without him and so will your options of having a full and more complete squad.

I agree, don't honestly think that the toon will keep many clean sheets this year. I think that they managed 16 last year, but I think that 10 will be maximum this year. Trippier was outstanding for BPS but if the blanks are reduced , so will the BPS. For that reason, I'm not going for NCL defenders

Problem is my budget is 4.5, and got Henry already. Cash I like, but not sure he's nailed; same for Udogie, Colwill. And I have nowhere to downgrade. It's a tough slot!
