Well I guess this is it:

    Pickford

    Haaland, Joao

You really think the 4-4-2 is worth it?

Could have a 6.5mid and a 7.5mid instead of Bruno and Shaw.

Nope i have Jota and love it, my midfield is...

      BrunoF, Rashford, Saka, Martinelli, DiogoJ

If Jota becomes a pain, can always switch out for so many options, likewise with Martinelli

Why is literally everyone going Gabriel and no love for Saliba?

Saliba the better player, stronger points per game average last year, seems to be more of a bps magnet.

Probably looking at the bottom line i.e. points overall. Agree, Saliba is better, but if White is 100% nailed, his attacking prowess is by far more tempting for an extra 0.5M based on the games I saw.

There's literally been plenty of 'love' for Saliba but the last 24 hours isn't typical.

Lots of 1st teams and final team selections.

      Saliba was in the middle

Why? His team selection maximises his potential for returns by not having attackers vs defenders.

            1. Sir Michael Taker
              • 11 Years
              2 years, 6 months ago

I think its flawed too. Why would you choose Chilwell and think that Tarkowski was ever a better option? Even if Chelsea don't keep a clean sheet we know Chilwell offers something going forwards and Liverpool are a bit dodgy. I wouldn't be hanging my hat on Everton doing a thing.

              1. Bartowski
                • 15 Years

He explained why he chose Chilwell. He's making a bet on Salah returns.

He's making another bet within his team selection that based on the above, choosing Chilwell would be reliant on getting attacking returns and not a clean sheet, as he has already bet against this.

The odds on any defender getting attacking returns against a Champions League level team are a long shot which has become moreso in a team now without Nkunku.

Instead, he has decided to make a bet on Tarkowski getting a clean sheet versus a Fulham without possibly their most vital player Palhinha and possibly also without their best attacking asset in Mitrovic.

In terms of odds as well as maximising potential returns, which should always be the determining factor in 50 50 team selections, this makes perfect sense to me.

I used to think like this but I think I get it now.

By getting bench fodder, the only way you can upgrade is by banking some more cash. At the same time your first move has to be selling one of your starting 11 for someone cheaper and better. That then provides the cash you need to upgrade the bench, but you're doing those switches one or two weeks in when we've found out starters and form players.

I'm looking at it as a question of how many 8.0-9.0 players you have, and which are top priority.

If you go for Salah (or Kane) you can only really afford three. If you don't you can have four or five.

      I rank them:

      Saka
      Bruno
      Odegaard
      Rashford
      Watkins
      TAA
      Son

You have to. the loss if he bags and you dont have him is too high because of ownership and you'll already be in the bottom 20% after 1 week. If he doesnt bag you dont miss out that much as most others are in the same boat. this is a marathon not a sprint. you cant win it week 1 but you can lose it.

I would actually say that owning him this game week may suffice and captain one of the arsenal midfielders. You won’t lose that many points on everyone who does captain Haaland as you will still get 1 set of his points.

    Haaland, Watkins, McAtee

Quite heavy in def, maybe change one to a cheaper one who will sit on the bench most of the time and upgrade somewhere else?
Alot of options in mid for 6.5-7.5 and a bit of headache with choosing..

I wouldn't be going for 3x 6.5mins. they wont be consistent enough. definitely too heavy on defence unless you're planning to play 5 at the back each week. drop trips to a decent 4.5 and put the money to better use in midfield

Any suggestions on how to upgrade the midfield?
        Who's out and who's in?
And suggestions on decent 4.5 defs?

If Liverpool get Caicedo, I'd actually be more tempted by Trent later on.

Did Saka > Odegaard earlier, you think this is unwise of they could score similarly like last season?

I've got both. Feel like Odegaard is the better pick. Can't unwind why.

I personally think Ode is a worse option if Trossard or Haverts play the double 8 alongside him. Think hes the best option if rice plays the double 8 with him and partey is in DM but i don't see that.

Yes but as he's saying having both Rice and Partey in there (which was the case in the CS) frees up Odegaard. We don't know if it will be the same with Havertz or Trossard.

            This ^

...if rice and partey play odegaard is the best arsenal option for me, i agree hes a gorgeous player. But when you have Martinelli, Saka, Trossard, Haverts on the pitch you can't expect Odegaard to be everywhere unless arsenal planning on winning the game 6-5

    Could this be the one?

    Ederson (Turner)
Gabriel - Shaw - Estupinian (baldock - colwill)
    Ødegaard - Saka - Bruno - Rash - Jota
    Pedro - Haaland (Mubama)

Main worry is jota/pedro and mubama minutes.

Just the 5.78 million players on Haaland so far ...

Of the 6.6 million signed up for gw1.

    Good to go? 1.5M ITB.
Could get Jota, Watkins or save next week.
    GW3 possibly Estupiñán to Chilwell.

    Johnstone
    Stones | Gabriel | Estupiñán
    Rashford | Fernandes | Saka (v) | Martinelli | Mbeumo
    Haaland (C) | Jackson

    Turner | Pau | Baldock | Mubama

Here's my take on the Kane saga
I think he may prefer staying in the PL
This may explain his silence on the Bayern deal
Levy has already said that he would no sanction a transfer to another PL club .
But with an offer now accepted other PL clubs may come in with a similar or better offer to test Levy's resolve .
He may have to sell him to another PL club or risk losing him for nothing .

Leaning towards Pickford/Turner rotation over Onana at the moment. Where's everyone at with their goalkeeper?

I've literally just done the same thing, been dead set on Onana as soon as he came into the game aswell. It's allowed me to upgrade 1 of the 2 4.0 defenders i have to a 4.5 and have a better first choice sub

How bad is it if I start without a Shaw/Onana?
    Starting with 3-5-2
    Pickford
    Udogie Estu Gabriel
    Salah Rash Mitoma Martinelli Saka
    Hzaland Pedro

Turner Osula, Baldock and Mings on bench.

I could potentially give up on Martinelli for a cheaper mid like Eze/Mbuemo and then put in Onana/Ramsdale + Saliba/Shaw.

KDB assisted in his first game after injury. He is owned only by 0.98% of pro fantasy players. Are experts wrong about KDB?
