Last Man Standing GW1 (1797 teams)

    Safety score = 62
Top score = Dom Richards with BB scored 106

88 teams eliminated, 1709 teams through to GW2.
Will probably open LMS entry for a couple of 30 minute bursts during the week to collect about 50-100 new entries.

    Congrats to all the survivors!

So is Sanchez nailed for Chelsea then?

Surely he is so I’m not sure why he isn’t being talked about more at £4.5m, what am I missing?

I think the fact the Chilwell is the preferred Chelsea defender of choice and people may not be that confident in the double up.

I'm a little unsure that Gvardiol wont start next game again for City so thinking of changing him to a more nailed def, but who?

If you're wanting to free up the funds, I think Henry probably has the most upside, but the other two are decent options. Fairly sure Stones will get a decent number of games though even with Pep roulette. Appears to be fit.

So for those of us who own both Gabriel and Stones, would the consensus be to hold both, or ship either? Brighton are in discussions over a £15m deal for Lille's 19-year-old midfielder Carlos Baleba having already agreed personal terms as they look to fill the void left by Moises Caicedo's move to Chelsea. (Fabrizio Romano)

Liverpool, Newcastle United, AC Milan and Juventus are among the clubs who have also been on Baleba's trail. (Mail)

Can see it now - Seagulls pay £15m and nurture him in the reserves for a year, giving him half a dozen first team appearances in April. In the summer, midtable Liverpool take him off their hands for £115m. Rinse and repeat.

JM, do make sure you have the budget to cope with the inevitable price rises. I had the intention to roll my first transfer, but with 1m in the bank, I used it to get Chilwell before his rise.

Now I'm potless and am looking at a 2FT for GW4 by downgrading Watkins to Jackson and a 4.5 backup keeper to Turner to net me 1.0m (or maybe 0.8) going forward.

Many many many of us were in the same boat. Okay if some were GK/defenders, but mine were 3 attackers. Proper spoiled a great start to the first gameweek.

      Locked him in already!

Haaland can (and most likely will) score in any game. Gotta decide when to take a chance against him and I think GW2 is a good time. City have a midweek cup final so won't be fully rested and might rotate. That doesn't mean Haaland will rotate, but the creativity setting him up might.

Feelings haven’t changed, he’s an option and it’s nice to have the option but if Haaland looks deadly tomorrow, I won’t bother.

His price won’t force any hand because you could apply the same logic to Haaland.

I’ll take 15 from both and be happy.

Any guesses is Maddison going go up 0.1? Thinking about dropping Rash for him, as didnt like Rash being played upfront. Not his best position. Would need the whole 1.5M for next transfer.

    1. Andy_Social

My guess is anyone who watched the last game last night will fancy Maddison against this United defence. However, the majority of FPL players will just see the result and be unmoved. Thus, I don't think Maddi will rise before the deadline, although he might come close.

Personally, as a Rashford owner, I think they can't possibly be as bad next GW and am giving him more time.

I think it was mostly Wolves playing surprisingly well.
Not loving the scenario being totally without ManU players...

    (Pickford (AVL a)/Gabriel (CRY a)/Eze (ARS h)/Shaw (TOT a))

Bench boost GW3, hell of a benching headache this week therefore. Anyone on my bench you'd play ahead of a starter?

      No changes.

Looking really good for that gw3 BB.

    Who would you start?

    A. Onana (Tot a)
    B. Turner (shu h)

I've got same GKs and definitely going Turner. Can't turn down SHU at home, especially when Onana is playing an attacking Spurs team and United didn't look great.

I'd start any keeper v the Blades attack. I'd start Turner over Onana and even Ederson.

I'm going Turner. No better opportunity to take advantage of the rotation with a 4m keeper and have to think Spurs will score, more because of how they play than how badly United played last night

Just realised I've really got nothing to do in FPL until Friday 25th August! Little bit annoying after enjoying all the preseason tinkering! But I suppose it's a good thing I don't have to make a change this week.

Next big decision will be which Chelsea and City players to bring in for GW3? (Only got Haaland for now, and Chuckwemeka but he'll stay on the bench i think)

It's a very healthy situation to be in. It's good to have a week to step back and see how City's defence lines up with Dias and Stones being fit, and which of Chelsea's assets - Jackson, a wingback, 4.5 keeper maybe are the ones to go for.

Yeh totally. I'm looking forward to having 2FTs for GW3 for those reasons. Chilwell or RJames are top of my watch list, but need another look at the attacking players. Who to take out is the other good problem to have given most did well for me in GW1.

Fish.. missed the Chilwell rise 🙁

    -4 Shaw/Gabriel to Chilwell?

Wouldn't be doing it this week for a hit. Wait one more week, you chose those players initially for a reason. I'd be surprised if Gabriel didn't come back in to start.

    Bit disappointed with 70pts

Gabriel 1 pointer, Jota gamble not paying off, Man Utd being rather poor and GK fail!

Any changes here or roll (£0.5itb)

    Turner
    Chilwell, Gabriel, Estupinan
    Bruno, Rash, Martinelli, Saka, Jota
    Haaland (c), Pedro

    Pickford, Shaw, Archer, Baldock

Anyone else here choosing Diaby over Maddison. Had foden as a placeholder until I could decide between Richa and Maddi but after seeing diaby play I'm more inclined towards him and +1.0. Should play supporting striker/striker more often than not this season and Villa will improve and have a great run of fixtures

Don't have any of them, but both Maddi and Diaby look great assets. At 6.5 Diaby does look great value and I expect Emery to sort out the defence and have Villa more coherent going forward.

    What’s best do we think?

    A) Bruno & Martinelli —> Salah & Diaby (-4)

    B) Bruno —> Diaz

    C) Hold Bruno & Martinelli

Wolves had 23 shots on goal last night, think I might jump off Luke Shaw, already have Chilwell but James & Chilwell for this little run of fixs feels like it could be decent.

Asking for trouble though to have both.

I’ll probably leave it for a week tbh but I’m tempted to make the change.

The West Ham game is away so not that appealing, will more than likely roll.

Probably not, Spurs will attack so could be good for them.

Depends if you think the United defence in inherently poor, or if they got off to a bad start but ETH will sort them out.
