I'd hold. Team looks great. Odegaard will rack up the points. Rashford will get plenty of chances vs attacking Spurs, Eze great stats and unlucky not to haul GW1.

    Hello Guys,

I want to replace Richarlison , he went on to play a deep role to help the team build!
    Should I go for :

    A) Diaz
    B) Mitoma (2nd most advanced brighton mid)

    Also
    Should i Start:
1)Baldock (NFO) - Incredibly high on the pitch
    or
2)Alvarez (NEW) - NEW has a good Defence..

It is precisely because Crooks comes up with lines like that that he is a pundit, he is not really there for expertise - more the soundbites and drama, with his turn of phrase.
And unusually (for a former footballer) speaks clearly, has a great vocabulary and has great diction.

“Michael Owen will get double figures this season – or at least 10, possibly more.”

“That showed a total lack of disrespect from the player.”

“Football’s football, if that weren’t the case it wouldn’t be the game that it is.”

Crooks is just a pundit. That Phil McNulty even has a job, let alone Chief Football Writer at the BBC, is a complete travesty. The man simply cannot write.

The other way of looking at it is that his teammates are used to Kane moving about making space to receive the ball.

Yeah Ricarlison was not much good at the attacking movement, his answer was just to go deeper.
It will be interesting to see what Ange does.

Does he buy a big name replacement for Kane? Or does he he buy a young understudy to Richarlison.

As a JAckson and Chilwell owner the only thing stopping from getting James in this week is the thought that Enzo could be a massive opportunity at 5.0

Took all set pieces at the weekend, looked advanced and is probably a decent bet for penalties too (5/5 career)

Another Chelsea option I did consider was Chucwuemeka 4.5m (before the Lavia and Caicedo signings) but he has lost some appeal now in my opinion.

I assume Enzo will be the more advanced of the two midfielders, partnered with Caicedo beside him.
Only against the top sides they might drop Enzo going for the two battlers Lavia and Caicedo intstead.

          1. Bartowski
            • 15 Years
            2 years, 6 months ago

Eh? They're not dropping Enzo in any games, Gallagher will be left out and maybe even sold due to Lavia replacing him in the starting eleven.

              • 13 Years

I can see Gallagher replacing Chucky in the first team. Lavia might well be Caicedo's understudy, but however Poch sets up, Enzo is undroppable. Caicedo's presence also means Enzo doesn't need to remain in the double pivot - he will get up the pitch and be well-placed to lay on lovely assists by the ton.

The good thing is that if he is, he'll be easy to squeeze in should you ever wish to sell James/Jackson.

If/when Olise comes, he could take some set pieces away & may even end up plaiting #10 in Nkunku's abscense.

Can see all of LFC (Lavia, Fernandez, Caicedo) starting some of the harder games though, although not sure about all 3 all the time.

James is an easy sell if injured, plus the added bonus of James is that he is more likely to be subbed earlier than Chilwell. 60 ish/70ish minute. Clean sheet points more likely to be locked in.

I think I would drop Pedro - Wolves looked surprisingly decent v Man United, plus if Brighton do well and score a few the points are more likely to be spread

Mbeumo - looks like the better option because Fulham gave up loads of chances v an Everton side not known for their attacking prowess.

Nope. Probably Jota, and then consider a hit for Trossard to Maddison/Son/Saka/Odegaard

Maddison and Saka are the obvious two, Son not worth it given form/price IMO. If you have not got Diaby he one I would prefer.

I might have a bit of bias because I had Diaby earmarked after preseason - was in my team.

But like a fool heard the City team news - got over excited made two changes to get Foden in.

Against Newcastle (before Villa got steamrolled) Diaby looked very dangerous - lightening pace, extremely direct and just slightly off Watkins - running on off his play. The pair seem to be already clicking. He seems like a great finisher as well. Plus he is 1.5m cheaper than Watkins

If Diaby is fit he starts, those fixtures look great for attacking points (even Liverpool) right up until gameweek 14. I think Diaby is a player who will be 7.0m before you know it, and you will be annoyed that you did not get on him.

The argument against getting him would be the conference league - but I assume Villa will play mostly second string in that game. And there is of course the Buendia injury.

But at 6.5m - with his style of play and fixtures - it would be a miss to pass up IMO.

James will probably be popular from next week especially, could get ahead of the curve (if you really need to). Gabriel will probably play though.

Timber injury and (apparently) poor perfroamnce with hybrid back 3 surely means its likely Gabriel back in next week? Arsenal fans, any view?

if benched again its an easy move out but could end up being a wasted transfer

    Hey 🙂

    Turner
    Chilwell Saliba Estupiñán
    Saka Rashford Fernandes Martinelli
    Haaland Jackson Pedro
    Onana // Eze Udogie Kabore

    Good start. Thoughts on plans/benching?

    A) Save FT
    B) Fernandes > Maddison
    C) Fernandes > LIV mid (not Salah)

And for Eze (ARS), bench or play ahead of someone?

I considered perhaps Udogie to James in GW3 too, but realised/remembered that Udogie's GW4-5 fixtures (BUR, SHU) cover Estupiñán (NEW, MUN) very well, whilst Chelsea have NFO, BOU.

Makes more sense to get James for Saliba? All depends on ARS defence really.

A imo or C Diaz, if you really want a Pool mid.

On the fence about Liverpool midfielders not named Salah tbh. GW3 is Newcastle away, too. Whereas likes of Maddison/Bruno /Foden have BOU/NFO/SHU.

      We have almost identical teams.
I'm probably going to give Fernandes another chance.

Bruno > Maddison gives me 1m ITB. I'm not getting James this week - would be next week.

Considered the same with Bruno, mostly based on that awful Utd attacking performance vs Wolves. Not enough data yet.

next two Utd have a very open Spurs team and Forest at home - think you need to see how Bruno has been after those 3

Similarly on Pool mids, Newcastle away gw3 and still too early to say any bar Salah are first choice. last week Jota was favoured, now its DIaz, could be Darwin next week..

Not sure doubling up on CHE def is a good shout as both injury prone.

TOT v UTD should be open so I'd give your double mid another week. A) for me.

Thanks! Ah, I'm okay with doubling if they play like they did Monday. Have to get super unlucky for both to pull up in same match. Fairly easy downgrade if required.

Maybe now is the time to do it, whilst they're both fit and fixtures look good going forward. Easy to downgrade to the likes of Botman in a few weeks.

Interesting to see a few posts on folks considering using their FT this GW rather saving as their team is well setup for GW3.

Rather aggressive approach compared to having flexibility of 2FTs for any potential injuries especially when the team is fine for GW2

    1. Miguel Sanchez

Yeah this is my thinking so might go Gabriel to James this week

Depends on the situation. If you're team is also setup well for GW3 nothing wrong with getting on a player early.

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 6 months ago

Of course all team dependent. Just a general observation when teams are fine for this GW and folks are still looking to make a transfer. From my POV, it feels better to get another GWs worth of info and flexibility of 2FTs but that may be too passive.

    3. Hairy Potter
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 6 months ago

The Gabriel situation is tempting me to look at him out for James this week rather than next. Feel I'm reasonably set up for GW3. I'll still have 1.5 ITB to get to just about anyone I might want to bring in for GW3 with a single FT.

    4. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      2 years, 6 months ago

It would be the first time I've used the GW2 FT and I do see strong reasons for rolling it (not that many surprises GW1; increased flexibility for Chelsea players GW3). But I did expect Gabriel to be properly nailed so that is pretty big new info & selling for James is a bit like an advance on (potential) GW3 moves. It would mean I'd need a -4 to get Jackson though so still unsure. And I was hoping not to make any defensive transfers before GW5 (maybe WC5)

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 7 Years

Understandable with not wanting to make a defender transfer. I think with James' injury history, I preferred to wait for the fixture turn rather starting with him.

Yeah I've fallen into that trap before tbh! Buying him slightly ahead of when I want him & then seeing injury strike

Hmm that's pretty close actually. I expect the Villa defence is more nailed now with Mings out: Digne Pau Konsa Cash (maybe a slim chance Carlos could play RCB with Konsa RB at times, but Pau is the only LCB now). Should be a pretty safe 6pt-er for Pau & more than one attacking return for Eze seems a bit unlikely. Usually I'd favour the attacker but I think maybe Pau edges it marginally
