Rashford and Pedro to Foden and Wissa?

Would still have Bruno for Forest just in case Utd sort themselves out. Oh and Richarlison for Bournemouth. It's been a tough start...

    Salah Eze Saka Rashford

    - City attacker plays really well
    - Pep says something like they were "so, so good" or "incredible" and "I am happy"
    - Pep benches player next game

So it is written in the ancient scriptures

None are nailed but is there a general consensus here on the most likely City defender for x-mins?

Thinking Dias probably edges it over Akanji and Gvardiol for expected mins.

I'd agree with Dias being most nailed, doesn't mean he can't be rotated of course!

Yeah I think so, unless you're ready to give up on Rashford since there's lots of appealing replacement options there. I know its Forest but they have been looking decent & personally I think its fine to hop off Rash now & reconsider later when he's playing LW with Hojlund up front & they've got some rhythm going

      1. Traction Engine Foot
        • 6 Years

I am itching to move him to Foden/Mbeumo, just feel I should give him one more chance/there might be some sort of reaction to Utd's crap start. And 2ft could be useful next week.

    2 FTs, 0.5itb.
    Johnstone (Turner)
    Chilwell Estupinan Gabriel (Baldock Beyer)
    Salah Jota Saka Martinelli Mitoma
    Haaland Pedro (Woodrow)

I think I'm going to scrap my WC5 plan - things are turning out a little too much as expected so far this season & I'm happy with the vast majority of my squad. So I'll make my moves with WC8 in mind now.

I'm not going to beat up on Chelsea like everyone else; still think they'll improve in time but I think Chilwell is enough for now. I haven't cooled on Maddison or Diaby though, and still think I'll drop down to one Liverpool attacker for the next few. Wasn't intending to move Salah on now but I don't see myself captaining over Haaland til GW9 at the earliest. And Mac's RC should make Jota pretty nailed up front. So my early thoughts are maybe Salah & Woodrow - Maddison & Isak..? This way I can also keep Pedro around to see what happens without the pressure of needing to start him every week. Will wait for Maddi fitness update though & hope Gabriel starts tonight

I had Wissa over Pedro right up to the last round of friendlies (boo hoo, cry me river... 😉 ) and Mbuemo is a consideration along with Maddison, so there is some interest. But I think Palace might be the toughest defence they've come up against so far, Bournemouth look much improved, then Newcastle... so just mellowing on the fixtures more than anything else

I think you are right to hold off WC, your squad is looking strong and only needs some tweaks.

      I would definitely move Salah + Woodrow out for Maddison/Mbuemo + Isak/Alvarez?

Have you considered Alvarez? I own Wilson and wanted to switch to Isak after GW1 but I am wondering if you’re better going without and looking elsewhere. Isak looks great though and if he continues to start games and play 60/70 minutes he could score well in that time especially when the fixtures turn.

Not really tbh. I don't really trust his nailedness in the medium-term & still have my doubts about City attack til they bring in another 8. Isak is a slight risk too but at least he's starting ahead of Wilson & if I wait til I see the UCL rotation pattern I'll start missing fixtures like shu BUR. Like the Liverpool fixture for him too

That looks good. I like how you've 2x 4m defenders. I had half planned keeping Pedro and selling Salah and Rashford. But sure boredom kicked in very early and went Ward Prowse and Semenyo for Nakamba and Pedro.

I'm actually feeling less & less into defender rotation by fixture, and increasingly in favour of just set & forgetting 3 ultra attacking left wingers in Chilwell, Estupinan & Moreno when fit. I knew Digne would haul yesterday - that role has so much attacking license

At the moment I don't see any massive reasons why we might need a WC.

Salah muddling along, so no need to WC to get him in, or to WC to get him out.

All other assets pretty easily attainable with free transfers.

The pricing this season making it oh so easy.

Its actually a bit tricky for me to get Pedro up to Isak for free (Jota - Mbeumo doesn't generate enough funds) but I see your point. At least with my squad it doesn't feel like a proper overhaul is required & if I do let go of Salah for a while there'll be plenty of funds & flexibility

Thoughts on moves? 2FT's, and nothing ITB.

Not having Mitoma or Mbeumo has caused some pain, but not sure this is the week to move to them given the fixtures my current players have.

Thinking Pickford -> Sanchez as one very likely move, but 50/50 over Watkins -> Jackson so may roll the 2nd FT. Gabriel may take priority if he doesn't start tonight.

    Pickford
    Chilwell - Gabriel - Estu
Rashford (vc) - Bruno - Foden - Martinelli - Saka
    Haaland (c) - Watkins

    Areola; Baldock, Kabore, Mubama

That team definitely doesn't need WC'ing just need to prioritise Pedro out.

Can you not just do B but transferring Pedro out instead, rather than benching? You'll have bench dilemmas every week otherwise.

Cheers. I could but I'm still not sure JP isn't a solid option. An injury elsewhere could see him nailed for example. It would seem at this early stage that we're all going to have money to spare so I'm OK currently with spending an extra 1M on a sub to go from a 1 pointer to JP 🙂

Very cringe to hear that. Equally cringe is the ‘general’s orders’ segment on here, just not feeling it.

GW9-15 looks like a sacking run at Chelsea if they don’t turn it around quickly before.

Oh my. There's no way Lampard ever gets another chance at this club unless they get relegated to the Championship.

How did 4.0 Gusto look? Nailed do you think? As suspect as they are, next 2 GW at home (Luton, N Forrest) have decent clean sheet potential.

I think he’ll be nailed, did ok but I have Chilwell & not sure I’m confident enough for a double up now.

Looked ok within the context of Chelsea's poor performance overall, should be nailed while James is out I'd say and was attempting a fair few crosses (although they were kind of pointless against West Ham's giants). I have him, think it can't go too wrong at that price.

Okay thanks for the replies, seems like an easy move. I watched the game but didn't notice him playing much, quite the set of locks though lol, but was more focused on the Hammers.

I’m tempted however have lots ITB so feels silly to get over Chilwell.

I wonder whether Chelsea will change to back 4. If so, I don’t think Gusto is nailed

Foden or Alvarez. The better FPL pick?

Tough one. Once Silva is back (probably next week) then rotation may start.

I’m leaning towards Alvarez the better option due to how juicy the midfield options are this year

Depends where Rashford continues to play. Difficult to get rid of him ahead of Forest H.

        Totally agree
In two moves I would like Mbuemo and Alvarez in my squad.
Selling Salah frees up so much funds but his fixtures aren’t the worst going forward and we know he’s got a haul in him. I’m leaning towards Salah atm

Which move is better? 2FT. Feedback appreciated.
    A : Rash Mubama > Mbeumo Alvarez
    B : Rash Pedro > Mbeumo Issak

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Chilwell Saliba Pau (Udogie Baldock)
    Saka Salah Foden Diaby Rash
    Haaland Pedro (Mubama)

No worries. I like Isak, but his minutes maybe limited & City’s fixtures are great

Decisions decisions - some great fixtures this week, need to work out who to prioritise to bring in

    A. Pickford to Sanchez
    B. Cash / Shaw to Chilwell
    C. Richarlison / Rashford to Foden
    D. Edouard / Mubama to Jackson
    E. Edouard / Mubama to Alvarez

    Current team:

    Pickford
    Shaw Gabriel Estupinan
    Saka Rashford Mbuemo Richarlison Martinelli
    Haaland Edouard

    Turner Cash Mubama Kabore
    4.5 lM ITB

        A & D for me.

A - Everton are atrocious, can't see many clean sheets even in the easy fixtures, and can't wait to bomb Pickford out.

D - Obviously will need to watch out to see if Chelsea have any concrete links with another striker, but Jackson has played full 90 for two games in a row. So think he's a better asset than Alvarez, personally.

I already own Foden so get the temptation for C but think Rashford/Richarlison probably need one more game given the fixtures they have.
