Only other similar situation I can think of was fabrice Muamba Bolton vs spurs in 2012 in FA cup. Game was 1-1 but end of first half I think…game was replayed from start 10 days later. There was more of an urgency to play that given it was cup tie. Reckon this game will replayed later in the season when less fixture congestion but sure we’ll find out soon enough

IMO, the fairest thing to do is just let the points in the game stand with bonus but auto-sub to first on the bench if that player's score is higher.

It's the fairest thing to do that keeps everyone satisfied.

Even Haaland holders can't complain because Solanke DID score and was on 3 bonus, so him playing 60 minutes or so could be viewed as lucky.

Or let me guess, you don't own him and want the LUCK of having his points wiped? Explain how that's fair.

Shouldn’t wipe the game, award points to whenever the game was abandoned.

If rescheduled give everyone a chance to get Bournemouth and\or Luton players for the replay.

If played tomorrow (unlike) finish the game.

That's naturally impossible. There are 3 possibilities imo. If no replay and both teams happy with 1-1, then it stands. This game could also be nullified and replay from beginning played later. 3rd and the most unlikely scenario is that they play the last 25 minutes later.

I thought there used to be some sort od 60 min rule. But maybe different league or history. I think they'll have to decide what to do pretty soon. However, they can postpone the decision before this gw ends or next one starts. Official PL site shows game being suspended but also abandoned at 65 minutes.

    I captained Alvarez, my bad

Sorry to hear about Lockyer. Weird FPL doesn’t just put something simple on the website, even if not clarifying, just to say there’ll be a decision at some point. Communicating you have no info is still better than leaving a vacuum

As to what that decision is, it’s probably easy. If the match stands or restarts, points count. If it’s completely void and rescheduled, points don’t

But enjoying some of the more creative takes here.

They don't know - so this is the safest option tonight, unlikely as it is - but the game could be continued tomorrow or later in the week... so points as they are with no baps is the right call.

Most likely scenario - game will be fully abandoned and rescheduled, announced tomorrow even if the date is TBC and the game and fixture/points will vanish from this gameweek.

I don't know if that is the most likely scenario. No-one died or paralysed. There will be injuries also in the future. What sort of injury is going to be big enough to abandon the game totally and what if it happens at 97th minute when other team is leading 4-0 for example? And what if the situation is in something between? They are setting a precedent now and it won't be easy.

It’s not that complicated - premier league make the decision on what happens with the game and they’re waiting for that

Lack of info is not ideal

But I think adjustments to scoring and the rest is probably a combination of automated stuff then manually recoding on the fly

Currently the scores now reflect a game at 65 mins, cos it is.

Why is everyone criticising re the Bournemouth game. Let them make a decision in due course. The game is likely to be replayed at a convenient date like any other cancellation and this game will not count. Surely that’s the only decision.

In England, there have been two exceptions I’m aware of:

A 7-0 result abandoned due to poor light after 76mins allowed to stand in 1961 because the losing team was responsible for the delayed kickoff

And a match finished 78seconds early due a pitch invasion cause by fans thinking the refs whistle for something else was full time.

Both in lower leagues. Outside of that - every match has been voided and replayed

Solanke owners are hoping the league and clubs involved agree on a 1-1 draw and call it played.
No way they play tomorrow at short notice.
Even if they play behind closed doors to remove the need for plod, there'll be plenty of Luton fans hanging around on the off chance.

FWIW I would say the most likely decisions are:
    1) Postpone and replay later in the season as a DGW. Autosubs for Bou and Lut. Very unfortunate for owners but what can you do.
    2) both sides agree to call it a draw at 1-1, FPL points stand as they are. Definitely a possibility but I feel like Bou and Lut would have to propose this to the PL.
    3) restart the game tomorrow and play the last 25. I would say almost no chance of this given the potential impacts on player fitness.

    I would say 45% - 40% - 5% chances in that order.

Disclaimer: purely my own speculation and I am no kind of expert.

your percentages add up to 90, but assume there is not another realistic possibility. I have Solanke as captain, but I think the game will be abandoned and replayed. Even if the teams propose having a draw, others in a relegation battle could object: 1 point to either of those teams could make a big difference. Unfortunately FPL seem to be stuck with the mindset that if something changes after the end of the GW they can't change anything retrospectively (I recall there was a change to a goal scorer or assist and the original points stood). If the league decide after tomorrow evening that a replay is required I think both those teams will play 39 games this season in FPL.

My bad on the %s, add 5% to 1 and 2.

I think you're referencing Solly March last season where it was given as an OG then revised (post close of FPL GW) to a March goal but he didn't get the points. I think that's different as it had no impact on the result or standings, just individual player records.

Personally I think the PL announces tomorrow that the game will be replayed and today's 65min odd gets voided. I can't see how they count the points from today if the game gets voided.

I agree that the most likely outcome is the league agree tomorrow that the game will be replayed which gives FPL time to scrub the current points (hard luck for me unless vc Salah scores big).

In cricket, games get abandoned all the time bcoz of rain if certain overs not batted by 2nd team.
Since 45 mins were played, i propose Duckworth lewis Method be applied and since score was 1-1, let it be like that and call it a draw.
Had abandonment occurred before halftime, it should be declared as a no result which
Also is considered like a draw. Luton will be delighted with a point and the 2 extra points
Wont make a difference to Bournemouth. Not like they ll reach top 6 and they are good enough not
To be relegated. Draw and stopping game now most fair outcome to everyone.

As if football will use the DL method.
If they can't get that the way rugby uses the TMO is miles better than VAR, there's no chance they use something they've got no hope of even understanding.

I do agree that the guarantee of 1 point might well be more beneficial to both teams than the risk of none from a replay.

In cricket, playing less than the allotted time is in the rules

Plus a Duckworth-Lewis equivalent would almost certainly declare a 1-1 scoreline is actually a 1.37 to 0.98 win to one side
