            You also have the option of Carlos at 4.4m. He's been annoying to own for me but with Konsa out injured looks like he'll get a run in the team.

      Falls and rises are calculated differently.

      From FPL stats:

      "For a player to fall in price quickly two factors are important i) teams need to be selling the player and ii) at the same time he must be 100% available (i.e. not injured). For a player to rise in value quickly i) teams need to be buying the player and ii) the player must not be "locked".

      1. The Philosopher
        • 5 Years

        Missed the 3rd factor: iii) whether he's owned or not by the FPL towers

        Thank you. I thought as much. It seems an utterly ludicrous way of calculating price and is badly exposed in this instance.

            it's because he was like 90% owned at the start, as a base. That many people want him steadily over a few gameweeks and bam, 0.3 rise. expect more rises!

              Yep, I'm guessing when the algorithm was made they didn't anticipate ownerships that ridiculous for GW1.

      Don't forget that the algorithm is secret, so we don't know all the factors that it takes into consideration when determining price changes.
      I suspect that one factor may be that players who have been very heavily owned from the start are considered to have been initially under-priced, so in order to correct this their prices are more likely to rise when managers continue to buy them than they are to fall when managers sell them for their temporary absences.
      So there is no simple direct linear correlation between ownership and price changes over a period of time.

    Isn't it time the great and the good was revamped to be more FFS relevant? It's just mainly giving oxygen to those on other platforms that don't deserve it (see recent behaviours). Nobody ever comments with anything to do with the article either. It seems to be just a part of the FPL Twitter circle-jerk mechanism for most.

    Why are we all so sure that Salah isn’t going to be fit soon ? Everyone bringing pool attackers in a bit too soon surely since Klopp only officially ruled him out of the last couple of games. Or is there something I am missing ?

      A hamstring injury usually takes a month and requires careful rehab. I doubt they would risk rushing him back for those games.

      Grade 2 torn hamstring, high risk of re-injury if rushed back. Only 4 days between Luton and Chelsea cup final. Can't see high xMins for Salah if back for 25

      We're never sure how long any player will return from injury. Even team doctors can give a realistic asessment but some players could relapse.

      I've tried to keep my options open by holding off on KDB til 25 so I could swerve to Salah instead. But if he doesn't play in 24 I doubt it'll be worth it

        This. Unless Salah at minimum comes off the bench in 24 I'm not gonna get him for 25 if I can't be sure he'll play both.

        But I still have that door open. Saka > Salah is possible for me.

    5. The Tonberry
      • 2 Years

      I think for most it's not a case of whether Salah is going to be fit soon or not, but rather that most have already committed their funds into getting KDB and Haaland. The Liverpool double being announced as late as it was, meant that trying to accommodate Salah would mean tearing up their team and taking extra hits when there is a double followed by a blank, which is tough enough to navigate as it is.

      With the question mark on Salah's fitness and whether he will be available for two games in DGW25 and with two blank gameweeks in 26 and 29 as well as a game against City sandwiched in between, it's just not practical or affordable to go for Salah at this stage.

      He would be a great differential with these circumstances though.

    I think the answer is A or B but leaves me with one/no Liverpool, C, D and E are probably suffering from a touch of DGW fever but only sensible options for getting Jota on basis I wouldn't want to lose other players.

    a. Porro & Alvarez -> Van Hecke & Haaland
    b. Trent & Alvarez -> Defender* & Haaland
    c. Trent, Palmer & Alvarez -> Van Hecke, Jota & Haaland (-4)
    d. Trent, Foden & Solanke -> Van Hecke, Jota & Haaland (-4)
    e. Garnacho -> Jota & Roll (No Haaland - have KDB, Foden and Alvarez)

            True. They kicked on pretty well with Bradley last time he played though, so its not like there isn't an able deputy. I think Trent starts vs Burnley and at least one in the double, but does that make him worth keeping at the possible expense of other imrpovements? I am not sure

      I'll probably hold off Salah until after GW29. It's only GW24 and 25 that appeal to me and it's not worth ripping up the team and taking extra hits just to accommodate Salah while there are still questions over how many minutes he'll get in those 2 gameweeks.

      Depends if you plan to use a chip for the blank and how many blankers you have. I wouldn't be rushing to a defender that doubles personally, unless you have the cash for Trent. Estupinan benched the last day so I'd wait on him. Probably G for this week.

          Was thinking rolling this GW, then do Richarlison to Jota & maybe Watkins to Darwin.

    Is Van Hacke the best 4.0 DF now?

    Is it correct that he's starting because of Veltman still injured?

      I dunno about best, he's got good fixtures and is nailed - just doesn't keep any C/S.

      Not sure if he's the best but he's starting because the manager rates him highly

      Thank you. He sounds like a nailed starter with very low CS chance.

    If Son's back, does that improve or harm Richarlison?

      Improves him while he’s on the pitch but could effect minutes.

      Son is a better player than Werner but an extra option could lead to early subs/rotation

    A) Solanke -> Toney
    B) Solanke -> Darwin
    C) Roll and reassess next week

    For A and B I'd probably bench Palmer this week. If I get Toney I'd plan to keep medium term, but if I get Darwin I'd probably replace him (Cunha maybe) when he blanks.

    Dubravka
    Trippier - Porro - Gabriel
    Saka - Jota - Foden - Richi - Palmer
    Haaland - Watkins

    Areola - Solanke - Estupinan - Taylor

    1 FT , 1.7 itb

      I wouldnt bench Palmer tbh, even Solanke is a hard bench.
      Just C.

        Would you get Darwin for the double then?
