Same! Afcon result vindicated keeping him, just that injury which was the fly in the ointment!

From original diagnosis he should have a chance of being fit for 25, some suggested even 24. Hopefully we’ll have a better idea by tomorrow/Friday/ whenever Klopp’s presser is

I don't get this at all, I don't see the "vindication" even Salah was not injured. You lose value and have funds tied up in a player that is not playing, giving you less options for the rest of your team/squad.

He would only have missed a couple of games were it not for the injury and I had Son and other injured players to correct first. Had this injury not happened, he could have been a relative differential and a powerful one. I’ve had a disappointing season but this has been the least of my worries.

And I’ve only lost 0.1 in value. It was a risk worth taking, in my opinion

Nope. A 13.0m asset misses 2+ games = automatic sell. Don't overthink it.

But the way I look at it tying up that 13m could have been two or three cheaper options you could have got in your squad - Foden, Ricarlison, Palmer, or Jota (or a combination of them) while Salah was out at AFCON for example.
Leaving the 13m gathering dust is making the game harder for yourself during Salah's absence iMO. You are then working off a squad that is 13m less than others who have sold him for his gameweeks in the ACON.

You’re right. It’s just Ive had at least two red flags every week for the past few weeks, and taken some hits, but Salah would have meant -8 or -4 when I was relatively happy with my team. Believe it or not, this week is probably my best chance to sell him since he got injured.

I'm pretty sure that Klopp mentioned he wouldn't be back for Burnley. Then probably need to be realistic is he going to play both fixtures in the DGW with the final so shortly afterwards?

Solanke to Darwin with Burnley and dgw fine, Solanke has Fulham an new both away, then city gw26
But Saka has Burnley gw 25, so tricky one
Watkins has Utd an Fulham, then forest home gw 26, could always be brought back for that

Planned to do Alvarez and Saka to Haaland and Neto this week. But am having second thoughts.

Would it be madness to do TAA to Ait Nouri/Semedo instead to free up the Haaland funds? Seems crazy before the double, but Saka has decent fixtures, back in a bit of form, and has a GW26 fixture.

I guess questiom is what is better:
    (A) Saka vs whu, bur, NEW
    (B) TAA vs BUR, bre, LUT... -4 points needed to get 11 out in GW26.

(If B, I'd get Neto in for 26 anyway.)

I think I'd stick with Saka.

I'm a Trent owner and don't feel set on keeping him. I can't see him starting all three of the above when he's yet to play 90 mins and has a very able deputy in Bradley

I can't see Nunez starting both fixtures in DGW25 and Jota is a big risk too I would guess. It's a tough call ripping your team up for Liverpool assets especially with the blank after.

    Haaland Alvarez Solanke

    Turner / Garnacho / Gusto / Taylor*

Think I'll just go for 3 City and 2 Liverpool. Can't get excited about Brentford and Luton players given the fixtures and my non doublers all have great fixtures. Plus will almost certainly need to take hits to cover 26 if I go for more than 5

The fans absolutely love him every time you watch a Pool game they chant his name over and over.

No doubt he's not perfect but if two of his shots had gone in instead of hitting the post the other day people would be all over him. Just like Mbeumo a couple of seasons ago when you look at it he's actually been pretty unlucky as well as being quite erratic.

"if two of his shots had gone in instead of hitting the post the other day people would be all over him"

Isn't this the case for basically any player? I had him earlier this season for a few weeks and it was the same after every single game. "On another day he'd have hauled" / "he was so unlucky" / "he can't keep missing these chances" / "sooner or later he's going to get a massive return". Never did get that haul or big game though and they're a rarity with him. In 23GWs he's returned over 6pts just 5 times, none of them hitting higher than 11pts

Honestly what's with the casuals rush to transfer player in.

Don't they know that an early transfer in is fraught with peril?

They drive up the price with their impatience, meanwhile the real players be here just waiting until night before or day of to ensure no freak injuries in training or midweek and to maybe get a word on lineups.

    Basically fook off casuals. /rant.

Well, not exactly the point but firstly let me say that money isn't the biggest issue but it's an issue still (always is).

Secondly it's foolish to early transfer when you only get 1 free transfer, so their impatience is foolish and making obvious moves more expensive for the learned folk.

        1. el polako
          • 8 Years

          It's a simple risk\reward.
Early transfer brigade is risking potential upsets caused by injuries\sickness for.the reward of 0.1 or 0.2m saved.

Is it foolish? I don't know, its just a more aggressive approach to play the game.

30% chance of a start? Will be interesting to see how this week's presser goes.

Hmmm maybe he returns, bit of a jump to say he's intending to return this week though. Given how Klopp has managed TAA and Robertson's returns I wouldn't think he'll start again until Luton at best, and that's probably only with a couple of sub appearances behind him

    Current team 2FT (3.2m itb)

    Areola
    TAA • Gabriel • Porro
    Saka • Palmer • Foden • Rich
    Haaland • Watkins • Solanke

    Turner / Estu / Taylor*/ Andersen*

    Best moves?

    A) Solanke >> Darwin

    B) Andersen + Porro >> Jota + Doughty

    C) Andersen + Watkins >> Jota + Darwin

    D) Andersen + Solanke >> Jota + Adebayo.

    Dubravka
    Porro Konsa Gabriel
    Saka Palmer Foden Gross
    Haaland Watkins Darwin

    Areola Bowen Udogie Estupinan

    A) Save ft bench Konsa and play Udogie
    B) Konsa>Walker/VVD and bench Udogie
    C) Else?

    Thanks!

It’s a tough one, I probably still will, but would of felt way more comfortable TC’ing him if he was more in flow and not just come back, still a good time to do it though I suppose

Not for me. He's still working his way back to full fitness and City have a full squad fit so easier to rotate. Doesn't feel like the right time for me personally. Using BB as long as Estupiñan looks like getting back into the side

Supposedly misses Burnley, should be back for the double, but will he play both with the final right after? Probably not. Reduced minutes. No more than 120, in my uneducated opinion

Which front 8 do you prefer moving forwards?
    A) KDB Saka Foden Palmer/Gordon Garnacho Haaland Watkins Darwin
    B) KDB Saka Foden Palmer/Gordon Jota Haaland Solanke Cunha

    Easy A right?

I've been trolled by Darwin and it's become personal but with Salah maybe being back soon he's more likely to play more and he fits into my team better AND he's cheaper AND has better xGI. Jota is a better finisher I get it

No idea what to do here

    Dubravka Areola
    TAA Trippier Porro Gabriel Branthwaite
    Saka Foden Richarlison Palmer Garnacho
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    2ft
    2.9 itb

How does Dubravka or Areola to Alisson sound?

Not the worst idea to be honest, guessing you'd fix it when WC comes round in a couple of GWs?
