That WC will be very handy later on if you have other chips left. A strategic -8 or -12 could be worthwhile.

DGW bench boosts are overrated. What actually happens is you put SGW players on your bench and have an XI of doublers with maybe a GK double.

What a pointlessly nasty post from ducksfly.

Close call I'd say. Every year I find myself wishing I'd gone for an early BB like this. The payoff is not so much in GW25 here, it's the points you gain later by not having to waste transfers planning a BB. I'd do this myself except I have Lascelles stinking up my bench.

Thinking of bringing in Darwin for a -4 in place of Mubama.

But gives me a benching problem. Who to bench?

    Current Front 8

    Saka | Palmer | Foden | KDB | Jota
    Haaland | Darwin | Solanke

    Thanks

I did similar even though it gave me the same headache. I swapped out Pedro for Darwin. Currently benching Watkins over Palmer. Mine was a FT though so maybe a minus 4 is a bit more of a gamble, albeit I don't rate Solanke

Worth bringing in Jota + Darwin if it means taking a -12 to field full 11 in bgw26? If I bring in just one of them I can get full 11 with just a -4 then.

Have already used my FT and so should I take a -4 to get Doughty in for Sheff Utd and the two doubles or just play Gusto and sort next week? It's now or never for Doughy given Sheff Utd this week.

I know Chelsea did well at Villa midweek and Palace are without Eze and Olise but I'm not convinced Chelsea have turned a corner yet.

    Raya
    Gabriel - Gusto - Trent
    Foden - Richarlison - Palmer - Jota - Saka
    Haaland - Watkins

    Areola - Solanke - Branthwaite - Konsa

Perhaps but he hasn't been in a squad that has both a fit KDB and Haaland all season. You'd imagine it'll have to impact him at some point

Sure but GW1 was the first game of the season, Foden was injured and KDB went off injured after about 20 mins or so. Last game was Haaland's first start after returning and KDB's first 90mins all season I think

*apologies Foden wasn't injured, thinking of last season. Still, over a long period after having been forced to start basically every game because there weren't other options I can see Pep wanting to give him a break

Alvarez has played every match, clocking up over 90 mins except on 9 occasions and even then it's often a late substitution.

But it's a game of choices and just 3 Man City players.

    if I broadly want to FH29, WC33 and BB37 ...

    When to TC?

Is Haaland in dgw25 the logical move, or is it going to early?

Or will there be better options?

    Even Solanke TC28?

Manchester City have Champions League and will rotate a fair bit but I expect he'll play, is he on song though? The early kick off against Everton will be a clear trigger.

That's fair but they'll rotate too if still in European football.

if I'm saving BB for gw37 I probably need to TC in an earlier dgw.

Gw34 could offer some decent fixtures that double.

        1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
          • 5 Years
          1 year, 10 months ago

They probably will but tbh City at the minute have a full attacking complement, later on you might have a few missing which would reduce the potential rotation for certain players. I also don't feel it's the perfect time for Haaland and he could well get rotated here too, it'll be his first week of games with a short turnaround since his return. Not to say he definitely won't have a big week of course but I just think there'll be a better chance for him or someone else

    4. DanLFC1
      • 9 Years

There won’t be a better option if you like but prefer to use it for a differential kicker at some point rather than just get 3x instead of 2x like everyone else

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

        I'm not sure that works.

Points are points when it all works out in the wash.

You might get a better rank boost from one player's points in a given week, but the point is just to maximise the points, by gw38 it doesn't matter when you got those points.

    5. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Still 2 City games to assess Haaland's form/fitness before 25. Should be some doubles in 34 although if its CHE/BHA/CRY/EVE/WOL/BOU then its a little on the puntier side for TC. Tbh I'm really not sure when I'll use mine yet, might just improvise with it

Yeah, the TC is an easier play as it's on 1 guy over 2 games rather than a bench of 4 in a BB.

    Dub Areola
    Porro TAA Estu Gabriel Taylor
    Gordon Saka Foden Palmer Son
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

Really at a loss what to do. Have 2 ft’s.(0 itb) Saved Son this long but thinking
    A. TAA Son Solanke > VVD KDB Darwin -4
    B. Son Solanke > Jota Darwin
    C. TAA Gordon Solanke > Doughty Jota Darwin
    D. Porro Solanke > Doughty Darwin

Finding this week a really tough decision, how to fund Alvarez to Haaland. Have to lose either Trent or Saka, and don't really want to lose either.

    Fundamentally comes down to:

    (a)
    Trent vs BUR, bre, LUT
    +
D.Luiz vs ful, NFO (could be another non-Neto/Palmer sub 6.0 mid but I'm struggling for options)
    -
    4 points (or 10 players in 26)

    Versus...

    (b)
    Ait-Nouri vs bre, tot, SHU
    +
    Saka vs bur, NEW

In a very similar place myself. In your position I'd take the 4 points and Saka over TAA.

It makes sense doesn't it .. just seems mad to drop Trent before the double and could backfire massively.

Have closed the gap a bit recently in the mini league I'm chasing, so I'm feeling the pressure! Cheers for the reply.

          Absolutely.

This week been doing my head in too. Should have planned better with funds for Haaland, but had rushed on the KDB train early instead

Getting rid of Solanke or Saka or Watkins... sacrificing bringing in Jota/losing Trent.

So so many dilemmas, listed them on the next page if you fancy a headache.

Have you really got no other options? One of your mid-priced players to fodder?

Other downgradeable players are Foden, KDB, Richarlison, Darwin, Watkins...

    Draft question:

Would you start Ait Nouri or Gibbs-White this week?

probably Nouri, 120mins for Gibbs-White (and Forest) might result in sluggish performance.

Bowen to jota and reassess next week? Or hold Bowen for bgw29? 1FT 3.8itb (planning wc 30 ish and bb/fh in 34/37)

    Dubravka
    Saliba Porro Gomez
    Saka foden palmer Gordon
    Haaland watkins solanke

    Areola Bowen estupinan al dakhil

Gordon likely out I believe, so I'd be all over Bowen to Jota unless you're dead set on no FH in 29

Which option to free up funds?

    A) Porro -> Doughty
    B) Colwill -> Bell (or another 4.1m)
    C) Colwill and Estu > Doughty and Aguerd (-4)

    Thanks
