Would be stunned if it’s not Arsenal, Barca, Dortmund and Inter going through. Barca the only one that’s even slightly contentious really.

    Areola
    Doughty Konsa
    Son Bowen Barkley
    Morris Watkins Toney

I should have this team in 29 for -8. Is it good enough to avoid FH ?

        Already have Doughty.
Would be losing Garnacho Bruno and Haaland for Bowen Barkley and Morris.
Maybe Barkley is not worth it.

I reckon if you haven't got Barkley in as your 8th forward already, I wouldn't take a hit to get him.
Probably got a ceiling of 7 or 8 points, but likely to be 4 tops

    Areola
    Doughty, Gabriel, Estupinan
    Saka, Foden, Gross, Odegaard

    Would you

Thoughts on this plan to avoid FH29? Will WC in 30/31, FH34 & BB37

    Gw28:
    (Darwin & Haaland —> Morris & Solanke -4)

    Gw29:
    (Foden & Solanke —> Richarlison & Toney -4)

    Gw29 team:

    Dougherty
    Son Richarlison Bowen Elanga
    Watkins Morris Toney

If you need to take a -8 to field 8 you are in FH territory but if you go Maddison over Richarlison it's only defenders that you will be missing so 50/50 which way you should go.

    Watkins, Haaland, Solanke

    Dubravka, Gordon, Porro, Taylor

    1ft 2.8itb

Would you FH in gw29 with this squad? or would you look to field a weakened team?

I can get to 7 players with free transfers. My initial thought is Gordon to Bowen this week. Also possibly Haaland to Morris for a -4. Then maybe solanke to Toney in gw29.

    Anything worth a -4 here? I haven't took a hit all season.

When your 7 includes Taylor and a 50/50 Porro, it's not optimal imo.
You are borderline FH, but the number of decidedly average fixtures in 29 make hits a bit of a risk. You'd already have the 5 main attackers by then.
I think Haaland > Morris would pay back over 3 games 28/29, but I wouldn't be hitting into 29 and expecting it to pay back there and then.

Haaland, KdB, Foden. Sell one, play one, bench one.
Might sell Haaland for Morris and bench KdB. Benched Foden for his hatrick already this season so is he more likely to go big? Other mids are Palmer, Saka and Gross.

    Gabriel - Doughty - Gusto
    KDB - Foden - Saka - Palmer
    Watkins - Haaland - Solanke

    Kelleher - Gross - Senesi - Branthwaite

Also if you had all chips and wildcard left but had a poor rank (e.g. 900k), would you be inclined to just attack this double gameweek (with 4-5 doublers) using TC and attack 29 using free-hit, in a last ditch attempt to try and improve rank etc. Or would you save the FH etc?

      Thanks

      1. Yes Ndidi
        • 6 Years
        2 years, 22 days ago

FWIW, I'm around 900k rank, I'm attacking the DGW with 5, but I'm going to struggle through 29 with 7/8 and save FH for 34.
The most anyone will be able to put out in FH29 will be 11 players from 2nd & 3rd level teams. In 34 there is the opportunity to put out 22. I know it doesn't work like that, but there will still be some quality players doubling then that I reckon will do my rank better than in 29.

I blew TC on Haaland the other week, but if I still had it, I'd be seriously looking at 28. Maybe not Solanke though......

    Brain Damage is my handicap

    Bench One:

    (A) Mohammed Palmer vs Newcastle
    (B) Lord Foden at Liverpool
    (C) Kevin De Watkins vs Tottenham

I am leaning to Palmer because Chelsea could well get blanked by NUFC. Foden is rested and super hot these days. MCI and Liverpool games tend to be open affairs with goals. Watkins versus attacking and leaky Tottenham is an Opportunity to haul.

Benching one of Kdb or Salah over Kluivert does not sit right with me. I know he has a double but both of them could outscore him quite easily. I think play by ear, you might find the decision is made for you if Salah doesn't look ready to start.

I've got a feeling Man City are going to put a marker down on Sunday and beat Liverpool

And yet I've wildcarded out my triple City attack!

The fear of backfire! I am on -12 now and wondering whether to WC or not.

Damn a -12, I’ve only taken one hit this season !

    Foden & Haaland -> Bowen & Morris (-4)

It'll either work a treat or will be comedy gold 😆

I did that with Garnacho (kept Foden) for -8/WC.

I could sell Richarlison instead but I'd end up benching Foden anyway

In Isolation no, because Morris will probably blank in one of the games and Haaland could go big

Couldn't you just do Foden > Bowen ?

If you can't win, you might as well have fun.

Zabarnayi seems to be the popular choice on here from what I've seen.
