    No update on Solanke tonight?

Isn't he ment to be rested tonight as a precaution?

Basically, to avoid negative points this GW?

It gives Neto a good chance to save a penalty.

You mean, because Solanke will sky another penalty into Row Z where Neto will be sitting having been dropped for his error vs SHU?

I mean, as much as that is the case, his manager wasn't exactly enthused about his role as the "number 1" when asked recently.

Back up gk Radu has only played twice, conceded at home against Burnley and then conceded 6 against MCI

Hopefully he sticks with Neto tonight

On a FH, which Forest midfielder out of Gibbs-White, Elanga or Hudson-Odoi do we feel will fair better against Luton in particular? I can't help but feel that I will pick the wrong one.

Mins managed in the last 2 games and not called up to Egypt. I would rather wait for him to get 60 mins inder his belt without any issues before going there

        Makes sense
Don't you think he's getting enough rest and can be a differential (even with ~20% ownership)

GW30 starts on 30th of March, not much point to talk about players fitness right now. If he's fit he should be in your team no doubt, best fantasy asset for the past 6-7 seasons.

        Yes, it's early

      I would say he's a must for 30.

Whilst not played lots of mins, he has more time to train and rest and I imagine Klopp throws him back in. Plus, Brighton is a nice fixture so I wouldn't chance it, just get him in 30

Of the 24 games Porro has played, he's scored more than 4pts in 14 of the 24games. So does that mean he's worth a -4? Versus a blank instead?

In the reverse fixtures of the next 5, Porro scored 30 points

        FUL (8), LUT (8), WHU (9), NFO (7), NEW (1).
Both have averaged 3.9ppg this season, but Romero is cheaper..

    Hi all,

I have 10 for this week and my dilemma is whether to bring in Toney for free or not as it impacts transfers next week.

    Which do you prefer:
    A) Bring Toney in for solanke. It will mean a -8 in total to bring in both Salah and Haaland (Salah + Palmer 31, Haaland & 5.7 mid in 32)
    B) Roll the FT meaning Salah & Plamer in 31 for free, Haaland & 6.8m mid in 32 -4

    Current team:

    Areola
    Reguillon / Doughty / Udogie
    Maddison /Son / Bowen / Kudus
    Watkins / Morris

    Neto / Solanke / Saka / Gabriel / Zabarnyi

I think there will be a lot of hits in 30 - FH29 players will only have 1FT and those not FH will almost certainly not be rolling meaning hits likely - so I would see B as a really valuable - and more than having Toney for 29

Wait, you want Salah and Palmer for 30 or 31? Maybe it's just a typo, I would definitely want Palmer for GW30, I wouldn't mind wait with Salah until GW31.

You can always soften the hit with an armband on Toney, I think he's better option than Son GW29 but I'm in minority.

Get Toney - it might cost you 2 points but could gain you 10+ points. Is Toney really going to blank 5 games in a row, this time against Burnley?

true true. it does counter off perhaps the main player that could hurt me this week by not having him.

means I need him to score to offset the additional -4 in 31, but if he nets once then anything more and I'm up on the deal

    Leno
    Robinson, Doughty
    Son, Bowen
    Watkins, Toney

(Gabriel, Branthwaite, Aké, Foden, Saka, Palmer, Haaland)

    A. GTG, no hit, play 7 as is
    B. Aké to Brentford/Villa defender for a hit, play 8
    C. FH

Not B - all it takes is one goal conceded and you aren't making back the -4 most likely and doubt you want Villa/Brentford defence longer term.

A vs C is tough, you're on the cusp. I guess you would get those 4 attackers on your FH so is the chip worth it for the three attackers you'd get plus an additional defender? Possibly not

If you like your team for 30 onwards then free hit. If you don't, then maybe save the FH and use 29 to shape your team for the next few gameweeks or deadend into 29 and wildcard

Remember it's still a marathon so if you can get through 29 without a FH there is far more upside to playing it in one of the later doubles ie gw 34 the most likely.

Most battling through 29 with a hit or 2 will have 9 to 10 players so they will be reasonably close to what most FH s have. In 34 though there will likely be much bigger swings.in favour of those playing the FH .
My opinion and yeah nothings cast in stone.

      why though?

29: no FH = 4-8 point hit for 11 players

34: everyone has 11 players for free

And the best picks when everyone is playing are likely to be the same every week.

''34 has 11 players for free'' yeah but what players you can't WC into 34 then be left scrambling for DGWs in 37. Will be difficult to use transfers setting up for GW 34 as you will be losing a quite a few top players along the way ie if WC 35 or 36 is the plan.
Like I said my opinion and the FPL Gods could and usually do have a say...

Remember 29 is a single GW so missing 1 or 2 players that are not captained will do minimal damage to the non FH lads

As we all know over the years of playing this game. Very few start both games in a DGW, and usually the SGW players outscore them.

Aye but in the smaller teams many do start both so that is why I'm still thinking 34 is best for the FH. Lets take MU if they double in 34 - very little chance that the top players will not play both.

I normally have 1 or 2 key single GWs in a a double and agree some of them do outscore the DGw players.
But my advice is probably more for those chasing as I still recall
the DGW where some of us hit 200 pts,
But no doubt whatsoever that if you are in pretty good stead for 29 there is a far higher upside to playing the FH in one of the later doubles.

I would say, it's not *the* SGW players, it's *some* SGW players.

So, there are always a bunch of SGWers who outscore the DGWers but they are not predictable. The best chance of points is picking players with two (nominal) games.

It's like - at the start of the season people say "don't spend more than 4.5m for a keeper, because the best keepers in the game are 4.5". This almost always turns out to be true by the end of the season. but at the start of the season, we don't know who those players are - as those (most of us) who selected Pickford, Johnstone or Flekken are too keenly aware 🙂

True. The biggest mistake people usually make though - is selling a «good» SGW player (with a good fixture) for a DGW. So this is more likely happening if using a FH and chasing the DGW players imo.

Agree , I kept Trent in 1 DGW and he got 14 pts I think . was the highest scorer on the bench.

The game being a marathon is why I'm using FH29. Not having to worry about the blank has allowed me to keep a stronger team leading into the blank (on 5 green arrows in a row), and means that l can save WC for later in the season (I can get the GW30 team I want for a =4) when I see it being a more powerful weapon to have at my disposal than FH that can only be used for a one off GW. With DGW35 or 36 likely as well as DGW37 WC can be used to set your team up for both of those DGWs.

Yeah but obviously team dependant I'm mainly talking about those that already have 6 or 7 decent starters for 29, I have 8 so far. I'm advocating that those players rather take a -4 or even a - 8 and gamble on later glory, and especially so if they are chasing big deficits.

It is team dependent but i"d FH this GW rather than take hits if it leaves you in a positions where you can avoid WC in 30 or 31.

If planned from the off FH29. WC 35/36 almost certainly going to be the superior statragy over FTs this GW that committed you into a GW30/31 WC IMO. I've wasted numerous FTs and can still get to what I'd be looking to WC to for a =4.

Do you not think, that he will be annoyed and angry about the missed penalty.......I do believe he will go big and score at least two goals and a 89th minute penalty for his hat trick

He had almost whole game against Sheffield to feel annoyed and score after missing a penalty…

That’s got nothing to do with it, he’s simply and average footballer playing for a very average tea, no point having high hopes for him.

I got no sympathy for British public\voters, we taking about a group which in all their wisdom voted for Brexit.
Voted for imposing sanctions\red tape and disconnect from all their neighbours, they have what they deserve - high street full of charity shops and hopelessness.

But Brexit is hardly the issue / easy excuse for the apathy.
It's about digging deep and striving to lift the country out of the morass .
If the national Psyche is so bad that you can not shift gears and work hard to righting the ship well then FPL and a few pints now and then is your remedy.

    A) Trippier to another Spurs defender than Porro
    B) Solanke -> Toney, but Solanke after this with nice fixtures and losing bit of value

    Wc in 31 or later

    I'm here rn on FH29.

It's boring but with a few options in there that could lift my score.

    Sels
    Porro Reguilon Williams
Son Maddison Bowen Kudus Gibbs White
    Watkins Toney

I think backing Forest is a calculated risk. Their defensive stats are decent (9th best xGC and only behind AVL of the GW29 teams), Luton have played 3 days prior while Forest have a full week's rest. If I'm wrong, Sels will likely get lots of saves since Luton tend to shoot quite a lot.

Then the last attack spot is either for Kudus, Bailey, Luiz, Paqueta. I like Kudus as a player though so I'm likely to take the flair option.

It's hard to argue against any of the other 6 attackers. I like MGW against Luton and the rest are template for a reason with high ceiling and high reliability for minutes and pedigree.

At the moment on elanga instead of mgw and double Brentford. Suspect Forest will beat Luton as they need to as it is a 6pt game as we say .Starting to go cold on Bowen at the moment toying with Luiz

pretty clear for anyone getting salah now that the days of him getting the full 90mins are a bit of ways off. its obvious the injury setback was more serious than klopp letting on because if he's even 80 percent fit he plays against city. lets see how he fares tomorrow.

The game just came too soon for him. Doesn't really have any bearing on future Prem games though as they're weeks away. They play tomorrow and Sunday so we'll get a better idea of where he's at after them.
