Looking like a week to roll and save the FT here?

(Hoping this injury-cursed season doesn’t provide yet more of them tonight or tomorrow!)

Plan is FH34 BB37 so planning to make some BB37 minded moves in 33

    1FT 0.0ITB
    Petrovic
    Gabriel Udogie Gusto
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Haaland Darwin Isak

    Kelleher Garnacho Branthwaite Van Hecke

    Thanks

I'm also rolling if possible, weird set of fixtures for GW32 and I'm leaning towards captaining Salah against Man Utd. Going to WC35, BB37.

Feels like the week for a boring goalies transfer with upcoming doubles in mind. Therefore Areola > Petrovic?

    Team this week:
    Petrovic
    Gabriel / Doughty / Udogie
    Saka / Son / Salah / Palmer
    Haaland / Toney / Morris

    Neto / Garnacho / Zabrnyi / Reguillon

he's my choice right now but spurs seem to be fizzling out, struggling with any team with a low block and little possession

    2. Tonyawesome69

Son isn't the differential captain, probably the best captaincy option on paper. Only one that has a home fixture

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 5 Years
        1 year, 11 months ago

On paper perhaps but that's now 6 games in a row for Forest where they haven't conceded more than once (including games against Brighton, ManUtd and Liverpool). I thought they'd struggle last night but held off on moving Son to Saka because I thought there was a chance the latter gets rested, I don't see Forest making it easy for Spurs now either

        1. Tonyawesome69
          • 7 Years

Conveniently left out the 4-2 loss away fixture to Villa (6th league game).

Agreed it will be a tough fixture for Spurs/Son but I still expect him to be heavily backed by active players/CCs due to home fixture

          1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
            • 5 Years
            1 year, 11 months ago

I was looking at the last 5 l games in all comps (which included the ManUtd game) before last night which led me to benching Muniz, just noting that they've added to that again. Yes they conceded 4 to Villa but that being 7 games ago feels less relevant than those more recent games

            1. Tonyawesome69
              • 7 Years
              1 year, 11 months ago

More data points increases the accuracy of overall data so I wouldn't say it's less relevant

                • 5 Years
                1 year, 11 months ago

I'd normally agree but I'm going on trends from more recent data, all signs point to that being an outlier anyway (even in other games before that where they conceded 2+ goals xGC was fairly low in line with recent games, like 0.5 v NEW or 1.2 v ARS)

As per article - "Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s recent upturn in displays has seen them concede just five goals in their last five games.

Their underlying defensive numbers under Nuno Espirito Santo are very good, too, which is worth bearing in mind if you are considering captaining Son Heung-min (£10.1m) in Gameweek 32."

Therefore perhaps not so much Son :)!

Don't like it. Just go for Salah against United. The United defense is really bad.

Plus he has 13 goals and 4 assists in 14 games against them...

It's more about Sheffield Utd at home, they're beyond bad at Bramall Lane, agree that Chelsea is hit-and-miss this season but Palmer seems to find a way regardless.

Their bench in 34 would be Petrovic (ars), Son (0 pts), Udogie (0 pts) and Gusto (ars). With Palmer (ars) and Kelleher (replaced by Allison at this point) in the 11. Sounds rancid.

Watkins could be fine at the weekend based on Emery quotes. Gusto likely to to be fine tomorrow as well, spotted in training yesterday and reported it was cramp.

I'm not so worried about Gusto, and both he and Watkins are on my bench as-is. Just more or less looking forward to a nice hot summer, and a new season in due course.

White + Lascalles to Ruben + Branthwaite for free? Will FH34.

I can see 2 CS in the next 2 games for City and they double in 37, With so many defensive injuries, feels like Ruben has to play all games now.

Terrible defensively? Only 1 goal conceded and 1.2xGC

          1.04 according to Understat.
And three games before that kept opponents to below 1 xG. Including Brighton, at Brighton.

I wasn't picking fault, I meant it more in the sense that it's potentially even lower than 1.2.

Did they? I watched Spurs second half and hoo boy I would sell any player I had and wouldn't pick them back up even for the doubles.

Was originally going to go Son but after last night I'm thinking Salah - he has had 13 goals and 4 assists against them in 14 games and our defence is crap.

Palmer, cause Sheffield is so bad at home.

Currently on Palmer (c) Salah (v). I might swap them around but I'm pretty sure it's between them for me. Haaland is a slight consideration. Not interested in Son to be honest.

Mark Sutherns has proved his FPL genius again, he was one of the first people this season to pick Ait-Nouri, he got him gameweek 19.

    A) Pau/Robinson -> Gusto
    B) Areola -> Dubravka

    I plan on doing FH34 and BB37

    Neto
    Porro Gabriel Robinson
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Areola Garnacho Pau Van Hecke

Honestly, I would roll. I dont think the clean sheet chances of Gusto are massively higher than Pau, and there is a reasonable chance he gets injured again before gw37!

I wouldnt get Dubravka in almost any scenario. He is useless.

        I agree.

When Pope was still fit, Newcastle's defence was pretty good. Then, just after I doubled-up.of course, Dubravka came in and I'm not sure if he even had a CS at all.

However, are there any goalkeepers anyway who are.nailed.on CS..Only one CS in five games yesterday again. This is not normal.

Well I went for Muric with my WC as I hoped for a CS and at least many saves and baps. It didn't work yesterday but he is kind of under the radar at the moment. So more interesting than Dubravka, Leno and all the other template traps.

    Neto
    Porro Gabriel Ait Nouri
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Solanke Toney Darwin

Areola (Wol) Luis Diaz (Mun) Reguilon (Avl) Zabarnyi (Lut)

Would you bench boost this to get it out of the way if Areola is fit? Only FH left, and I cant get to a gw34 BB without lots of hits.

Salah or Palmer. I do have a tendency of targeting games where I think opposition sides will have to have a go so probably leaning Salah

Anyone decided what value of points to sub in on challenge? I have Harvey Barnes on 5pts and thinking no. Palmer and Havertz might outscore

Unless you have 80+ pts/a realistic chance of winning, it's not worth the mental energy.

Worth holding onto Watkins for Brentford?
Or pull the plug after Liverpool play

    Watkins>> Isak/Darwin

Keep. Villa need results, Brentford ship goals, and he's probably still juiced up after the bad blood from the return fixture earlier this year. If he starts, he could go double digits easy.

Remaining May fixtures should get TV dates by the end of this week. Holding out hope they appear today for Sky FF purposes.
