Surely if you are going with Salah then he is the best captaincy option imo

Haaland only drafts - between Isak and Haaland

I’m going to BB gw1 and WC gw2
If I’m picking salah I should captain him I think
Otherwise spreading the money may work better
        That is the main question

        Getting and captaining
        Or pass on
Personally I think isak is better but not sure

I don't get this logic. Why can't you go with Salah and also think Isak is the best GW1 captain?

A bit light in midfield imo, plus Maatsen probably isn't the best pick either. I'd downgrade Watkins to either Wood or Muniz and upgrade the midfield. Plus you need to list your goalkeepers.

For reliable 2pt-ers, probably. But for only 0.5-1m more there's some quite appealing options this year so I'm going to try to avoid the 4.5s. Will probably start with Bobb and then maybe use someone like ESR / Hutchinson as 8th attacker after WC1

Any Palace fans out there with some insight?

Not sure any of those are nailed to start GW1. I do like Eze, but not sure when he’ll be back after Euros. Also wouldn’t want to be relying on starting Amad or Rogers, so I hope they would be your bench attacker.

gottta think Haaland vs Son/Saka/Palmer just comes down to whether you think you can keep at least 7ppg, ideally 7.5+ ppg from your captaincy. Casual Haaland perma-cappers will get 7.2-7.8 but if you can at least match that or even better it you're better off without Haaland imo

    1. MJF
      2 years, 28 days ago

Definitely going to pick and choose what spells I own him for. If I am not capping at least 1 in 2 games during a run, he has to go.

Haaland has to be a set and forget for the season, as he can hit a hat trick against any opponent. Son is another good option too as, on his day, he's just as explosive.

    3. The Mentaculus
      • 5 Years
      2 years, 28 days ago

If you're matching Haaland's PPM wih alternative captaincy picks, then you're pretty much guaranteed to beating Haaland teams (unless e.g. their 5.5m picks are somehow consistently outscoring your 10m guys). You could even come in quite a bit under Haaland's PPM and still be ahead

    Flekken / Areola
Branthwaite Gvardiol Munoz ( Milenkovic Barco )

I wouldn't go double Spurs early on, so maybe Nkunku is a better 6.5m pick than Johnson, and yes, Mykolenko is a better pick than Branthwaite. Other than that, it's a good solid team.

    First RMT:

    Onana / Fabianski
    Gvardiol / Andersen / Mykolenko / VDV / THB
    Salah / Eze / CHO / ESR / Winks
    Haaland / Watkins / Isak

    1. TheBiffas
      • 5 Years

Not sure about onana. Mid is also a little weak

      1. Haa-lala-land
        • 5 Years
        2 years, 28 days ago

Well the midfield has to be sacrificed with that power front three plus Salah. 2x 5.5s or 6.5s iif you scimp all out on defence

It's fine but it's relying heavily on certain player there's not much scope to jump quickly onto any emerging form players. Of course you can downgrade, but then you should be asking why not start that way.

        1. Haa-lala-land
          • 5 Years
          2 years, 28 days ago

On closer look I actually like it so long as Watkins and Isak fire.

The key then will be getting the correct 5.5s in the two mid spots and there's plenty to choose.

Off the top of my head: semenyo, bobb, Rogers, Mavididi, ESR, Pereira, Cho, Minteh, gomes

        2. TheBiffas
          • 5 Years
          2 years, 28 days ago

Gvardiol to a 5.0 would get a 6.5 in midfield which would help it look a lot better

    2. Big Mike
      • 4 Years
      2 years, 28 days ago

      1) Not sure ESR will start game week 1 imo, so that will need monitoring.
      2) Spurs defense is suspect, so I'd look at alternatives to VDV.
      3) Midfield is a bit light, so I'd sell Watkins for someone like Wood or Muniz and use the money to upgrade CHO.

Good mix and balance, you've got the right players to attack the fixtures. The only issue I have is that Salah may not be as prolific as last season, so it's one to keep an eye on. Yes Slot is rumoured to be a more attack minded manager than Klopp was but I suspect that goals will be spread more throughout the team this season.

    Thoughts on this midfield:
    Jota - Salah - Amad - Eze - CHO

Could bring in Nkunku for Jota and upgrade defence?
I’ve managed to fit in Haaland, Isak, Trent too.
