Will Kulusevski lose his spot to Solanke? Kulu been banging them in preseason...

Possible moved out to the wing.

Could be Johnson, Maddison, Bissouma in midfield, Son, Solanke, Kulusevski frontline?

No way Johnson plays in midfield. Will be Sarr and Bissouma, possibly Gray. Johnson will be demoted to bench.

Yes - see quote in the article above. Ange confirms Kulu won't continue up front (but will likely still start at RW / AM)

Need some advice… how nailed on is Barco? And is he worth saving 0.5m over Robinson?

    I’m either on

    A) Robinson and Winks

    B) Robinson and Bergvall

    C) Barco and Bobb

    D) Barca and Amad

      I don't think it's worth investing the 0.5m on your 8th attacker.

      So A.

Not really nailed but seems a likely starter at least til Estupiñan returns

I like C although I'm using those 2 as 5th defender / 8th attacker to mitigate the risk - will start Bobb the first 2 GWs (and Barco GW2) and then see how things go after that. I do think there's a decent chance that this is Bobb's 'breakout' season & he becomes a fairly regular starter but still want cover in case

      C. I think Bobb and Robinson are both fantastic picks. Prefer Barco to Winks or Bergvall.

Barco Bobb for an early risk if you’re of thar mindset. Othwise stick with Camzy’s advice.

If possible, I like the idea of Barco + Robinson, with Barco starting GW1 over him. If you need a long-term pick, it's Robinson

Winks is a steady Eddie. I'll have him as a reliable 2-pointer while watching out for the cheap mid who takes off

I don’t like the midfield at all

Who knows how Chelsea will perform, then you’re asking for regular returns from ERS & CHO

      1. WVA
        • 9 Years

I think most agree Nkunku is worth the risk
I’m only after semi regular returns from ESR and CHO who have the fixtures to provide them and if they don’t there is a lot of options at that price point or one can be benched for Mykolenko/Robinson.
All eggs in the basket of the greatest fpl player ever (I also have Haaland).

Your not tho, you think that’s ok, because you’re expecting big things from Salah - if he gets a single assist and you get 1 return from the other three - nkunku with city 1st game. ERS with utd. It’s going to be a sorry GW1

I think a lot of stock is being put in the enablers, and whilst the end of last season or pre season gives them merit it’s often a very different story beginning of a season

    2. BerryMaze
      • 8 Years

      Few issues:
      1. Barco is a doubt. Would get Faes who is nailed.
      2. Despite the words of Angie I am doubtful whether Solanke will start in GW1. Currently Kulu plays as a striker and does well. I think Solanke will be eased in and start from the bench GW1.
      3. Haverts may play as a midfielder with Jesus up front.

I would go Wood/Muniz as 3rd striker and spent 1.5m to upgrade CHO to Eze (if he plays in today's friendly).

      1. WVA
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Barco taken a knock? He can be any 4.0, not sure we know for sure Faes will be nailed, not to mention he’s awful.
Solanke will start, he specifically said he won’t be playing Kulu as striker so you’re way off.
Havertz will regularly play ‘behind’ Jesus but I’m not sure people fully understand how that works.

Possible, but he played almost every game last season full minutes even when all of their attacking assets was fit.
He benched due to late coming back and others having full preseason

        1. Flaming Flamingo
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 6 months ago

I know why he was benched and that's why I think there's a risk of him being eased in still. I have no doubt he's first choice ordinarily, but it's not beyond the realms of possiblity that he gives Amad another start IMO

Amad and Garnacho are going to be sharing a lot of minutes this season on the right. I do think Amad starts against Fulham but Garna may be first choice soon.

    Haaland Isak Solanke

Could downgrade Jota to Slobo and invest 1.5m on the mid?

    Any thoughts?

Settled on this front 7, now I need to decide on my 4.5 defenders!

    Salah Saka Nkunku ESR
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Best three 4.5 defenders?

I like Robinson Mykolenko Hall but I’m also considering Anderson, Murillo and VdV, Leif Davis would be up there if he had better fixtures.

Seeing a lot of drafts without Haaland.. I think that would’ve been different if he had scored or scored a few yesterday. I’m locked in on Haaland.. the reward is too great to go with him especially with a lot of the premium mids coming back so late.

I think he’ll be about as good as last season, I'm going to start with him but I don’t think he’ll justify that price and I’m going to sell earlier this season as captaining him last season towards the end cost me

With Chelsea and Ipswich first 2, likely atleast 3 returns imo. Captaincy GW2, undoubtedly. No brainer for me. Happy to move away once we know more on Salah, Palmer, Son (w/Solanke)

Not sure I can resist Kulusevski. Not sure Ange is the one to be benching him after the pre-season he’s had.

Very close to BB GW 2, as well.

Let me know your thoughts, greatly appreciated.

    Pope
    Gabriel Porro Zinchenko
    Saka Gordon Kulusevski ESR
    Haaland Isak Muniz

    Henderson Bobb Munoz Robinson

      Too much doubling up imo.

Gordon + Isak, ESR + Muniz, Bobb + Haaland.

I don't like it because it lacks flexibility. Also, you have about 2.5m extra on your bench which will hinder you after the BB GW1.

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

BB GW 2 not GW1, but fair. I think I’m more inclined to have a stronger bench too to enable me to save 5FT’s quickly. I think it’s essential I get to 4-5 FT’s early on and then make transfers in batches of 3 each time and repeat every 2-3 game weeks.

That’s fair, I’m definitely a double up manager - it’s where I’d like to find the differential. For example, I’m happy to double up here because every option within the double up is completely valid in isolation. ESR and Muniz are 0.5m too cheap each with that run of fixtures.

Gordon is my favourite player, think he’s the proper business. Isak, is Isak.

        Where does it lack flexibility?

What's wrong with doubling up on attackers if you think the team will score? Can't see an issue with Gordon + Isak

Nothing wrong with it. But if your entire attack is just from 4 teams that is a problem to start in GW1 imo because we could easily be wrong about which teams are good. If we're wrong about two of those teams suddenly we're in deep sh*t and have half our team on blanks while the obvious picks from other teams like Eze, Watkins etc return.

Zinchenko is a very risky pick

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Yes he is. Originally I had White and Minteh, but I don’t think I can avoid Spurs against Leicester so went Kulu.

With Munoz and Robinson on the bench I can take risks with Zinchenko, I think. When he starts, he’s gold imo.

    3. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

I think Zinchenko could be a problem for the BB. Not sure if I'd want double Arsenal defence at Villa anyway. Rest looks good

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Agreed, has an element of risk which isn’t ideal. Worst case is I pivot immediately away from him, or cancel the BB.

I don’t think the Villa game is awful, mind. They’ll take time to gel with Watkins having no pre-season minutes and Luiz leaving.

  24. Camzy

    Been trying some 3-5-2s.

    Hendo 4.0
    Gabriel Gvardiol Robinson Barco Johnson
    Salah Son ESR Minteh Rogers
    Haaland Isak Jebbison

I think it's quite good. Has 0.5m ITB for Son > Palmer.

Could also do Minteh + Gabriel > Eze + Munoz but I think that's a bit too heavy on CPL. Plus Eze has had 0 preseason.

    1. Athletic Nasherbo
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

I really don’t mind budget players, but a team with Barco, Johnson, Rogers, ESR, Minteh, Jebbison, might be a step too far.

I’d be using that 0.5m to upgrade Barco to Hall.

      1. Camzy
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 15 Years

ESR is nailed and so is Minteh. It's only really Rogers and the first sub that are a bit dubious.

The 0.5m I'm not sure improves my XI.

        1. Athletic Nasherbo
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 6 months ago

Yes ESR and Minteh are great options, absolutely. I don’t mind Johnson, either.

Well you’ll play Hall GW1 for starters. Any injury, Hall is inportant when your bench is otherwise Jebbison, Johnson, Barco.

      Nice team Camzy,

Anything you would change? Maybe Areola and Bobb, for Hendo and ESR?

    Hendersen
    Gvardiol / Munoz / Robinson(Hall)
    Saka / Son / Jota / Nkunku / ESR
    Isak / Haaland

    Paulsen | Johnson | Barco | Stewart
