Our 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team previews continue with Spurs.

The Lilywhites are one of only six sides to have competed in every campaign of the Premier League. 2024/25 is their second season under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

In these team guides, we’ll be looking at the best players from each club for the upcoming campaign. We’ll also take a stab at predicted line-ups for Gameweek 1, review pre-season and more.

The data and graphics in this article come from either our Premium Members Area or Statsbomb, with whom we are partnering in 2024/25.

Fantasy managers can get access to the wealth of Statsbomb numbers, as well as the usual Opta stats, exclusive articles, transfer planner, tools and app, with a 40% discounted Premium Membership today.

SPURS: REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

Spurs finished the league in fifth last season. They were also fifth for goals scored with 70, despite losing Harry Kane the day the Premier League season started and not signing a direct replacement.

The side from north London also had decent, if not league-leading, underlying numbers. Spurs were sixth best for expected goals conceded (xGC) and seventh for expected goals (xG)

The free-flowing attacking football that ‘Ange ball’ brings is definitely a reason to be cheerful. Spurs’ underlying attacking stats look promising, especially with the added goal threat of new signing Dominic Solanke (£7.5m):

FPL 2024/25 team previews: Spurs – Best players, predicted line-up + more

Solanke scored 19 goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. The forward netted these from the 414 chances that Bournemouth created, the ninth-highest tally in the league. Spurs on the other hand created 460 opportunities, the fourth best in the division, up from 386 in 2022/23.

Can Spurs defence be relied upon?

Exactly - basically a midfielder pick with occasional clean sheets.

2 goals in pre season and more shots than any other defender last season. Good pick.

It can’t, even in pre season they are conceding.

They will always be gung ho.

I have Porro and it don’t sit right.

from watching their performances vs Bayern, no not really. midfield just not playing at the needed level, sarr/biss have gone off the boil. their defence is being left so exposed

I saw some stats this week, Spurs have the 3rd / 4th best defence in league and less than 1 goal conceded per game when Romero Udogie VDV Porro all start together

Their issue has been the injuries

Lots of Palace players in drafts which is understandable based on the end to their season last time.

But they just lost their best player and Guehi could be off too so personally just don’t fancy them.

    What am I missing?

Don't know what you're talking about, Mateta is still at the club.

GW26-38 when Glasner took over (small sample size):
      - 4th best xGC in the league
      - Guehi started just 1 game.

True but check out how many goal involvements Olise had in the last 6 or 7 games…

    2. F4L
      • 11 Years

guehi was missing when they were firing end of last season. They've already brought in a new CB and bedded him in, looks alright apparently.

Wharton is their best player 😉

From looking at the Palace forum they just want Mateta back and they think they'll be good to go for the most part. For sure though Olise a miss, but at the end of the day their assets arent expensive. At their prices blanks are acceptable.

Come the end of the season good chance the plaudits are less on particular players or the team, but more on Glasner. Looks the real deal.

Olise doesn’t seem to have been missed in pre season. Glasner has done very well with them both offensively and defensively. If Guehi goes the defence will need reviewing but they likely get a replacement and their transfers have been decent

Nice team with obviously no bench. But that's kinda OK unless Jota gets rotated out.

cheers. yeah happy to take the chance with Jota with rest being reliable assets. In some universe Jota has stinker subbed on 60 and Darwin comes on and bangs in a winner, then can easily be Foden GW2. Otherwise just see what happens.

My plans for the opening Gameweeks:

GK: Henderson and Sanchez rotate well in the early stages
DF: Gvardiol, Gabriel / Saliba, Mykolenko, Quansah, Barco
MF: Salah, Gibbs-White, Eze all on pens
+ Bailey. Rak-Sakyi on bench, potential for attacking returns of bench at only 4.5
FW: Haaland, Isak and Joao Pedro all on pens
I plan to introduce Hwang and Ait-Nouri when fixtures get tough for Myko and Bailey, or if players aren't delivering or have lost place like Quansah and Barco. I intend to keep front three as is

I really want an Arsenal defender.

Went to Emirates cup yesterday and Lyon literally didn’t lay a glove on them. Fixtures tough but think the set piece threat and clean sheets are still going to happen.

    How does this team look?

    Henderson - McCarthy
    Gvardiol - Quansah - Mykolenko - Robinson - Barco
    Saka - Jota - Gordon - ESR - Minteh
    Haaland - Isak - Solanke

    0.5itb

Plan to WC in GW6 so just looking to get a fast start and not looking long term for the team. McCarthy only in as an option in case I decide to BB in GW5 and they have Ipswich at home that week. Projected transfers to bring in Salah, Watkins, and Rogers (5.0 mid or less) for Saka, Isak, and Gordon in GW4 as the GW4 and 5 fixtures are much better.

Have bench cover for Quansah so feel it's worth the risk on him at that price. Only really need him for the first 5 weeks.

If something happens with Jota, then I'd sell him instead of Gordon

      Thats a good thing

They have a set approach based on some assesment system and have identified a target that fits that criteria, if they dont make the move which can happen, they dont simple panic to get someone else who may not fit

Pool have in the past years some of the best recruitment around.

If Zubimendi is the only player in the whole world that fits their criteria, their criteria is too strict.

fair enough but with extended CL now, their midfield is looking too thin. Im not sure if Slot trusts Endo, doesnt look like it. Just not enough protection for Quansah/VVD

Guessing you want an Arsenal attacker but are limited on funds?

Yes that’s correct mate. Havertz is a more secure Arsenal attacker, right?

Yes - Didn’t get rotated much last season.
Jesus did have a good pre season, it’s Havertz place to lose

How is the latest draft looking?

    Raya 4.0

    Porro TAA Hall Barco 4.0

    Bobb ESR Jota Son Nkunku

    Solanke Haaland Isak

I’ve just played around with a no Salah & Haaland draft and it is very tempting

    Henderson Matthews
    Gabriel Gvardiol Quansah Aina Livramento
    Saka Palmer Foden* Gordon Jota
    Havertz Isak Jebbison

*would probably pick somebody else short term and bring him in GW2/3

0,5m from this team. Who would you downgrade?

    Henderson Valdimarsson
    TAA Munoz ARobinson Barco Johnson
    Salah Gordon Eze Nkunku Winks
    Muniz Haaland Isak

    A. Munoz to Konsa/Anderson
    B. Nkunku to CHO/ESR (could then also upgrade Winks to Rogers or Johnson to Konsa)
    C. TAA to Gvardiol (could then also upgrade Winks to Rogers or Johnson to Konsa)
    D. Muniz to JPedro

Will only take one bad performance / Gakpo or Nunez showing promise off the bench for it to change

Jota does pick up injuries so as a pick he is dispensable I suppose especially at the price point. Reason he is in my draft is when he’s fit and plays he scores points. And it does look like he will start GW1.

Yeah form says he starts GW1 but vome GW2 he is a rotation risk and will continue to be so. Hence my hesitation to get him.

The compromise in owning Haaland is:

    A. 4.5m Def, 2 * 5.5m Mids & Haaland
