      MGW initially.
Watching brief on the other two - maybe for GW2.
If Nkunku plays CF, and lasts the game, he is on the radar for GW2. Will save a lot of money over Palmer.

    Henderson 4.0
    Myko Quansah Hall (Robinson Barco)
    Salah Saka Gordon ESR (Winks)
    Haaland Isak Wood

Anyone else going cheap at the back to start? Only TAA really appeals as someone who offers both attacking and CS points but choosing to prioritise Salah.

Crazy to go all 4.5s and Barco?

I have gone very cheap at the back, rotating 4.5s to try and get clean sheets seems the best way to me at least, so much more value in mid and forwards now that BPS are reduced for defenders.

I’ve considered Murphy and Solanke over Gordon and Wood.

I like Wood for the first 3 though, and then likely a move on to Pedro.

Going even cheaper. Porro + 2x4,5 and 2x4,0.
They rotate fine and defenders get less bonuspoints in new system.

Someone pointed out that having Qhansah as a first sub is risky as I may want another 3rd Pool player at some point. On the other hand, his value could rise quickly and having him from the start allows me to downgrade one of my premium defenders and already have him.

    The team:

    Henderson
    TAA - Saliba - Gvardiol
    Salah - Saka - Gordon - Garnacho - Eze
    Solanke - Isak

Subs: Valdimarsson - Quansah - Barco - Fraser

I don't like it tbh. If I was going with Quansah I'd play him and sell Trent. If you're set on Trent, I'd get another 4.5def

I like Quansah but if you’re not going to play him this week then he’s not worth the risk and you may as well just have Robinson or Mykolenko.

So hard to predict what this Chelsea team will do. Full of talent but not instilling confidence. It’s honestly 50/50. I feel like Haaland will either have a field day or blank.

      Both are perfectly good picks.

Last bit of tinkering, how we looking ?

Look good, only consideration I’d think about is Solankes money to enable Trent.

Solanke V Wood, Muniz, Pedro + 1.5 - 2m would offer similar returns.

      1. Holteendersinthesky
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 1 month ago

I had trent and Muniz before Solankes move. I think Solanke could make a mockery of his price at 7.5m.

Is trent as good as we all think ? Last season he started 25 games and only got 8 attacking returns.

He could do but that’s not really the point, the point is will he offer 1.5m worth of a mockery over someone like Wood or Muniz? I don’t think he does.

Way I see it is it’s Isak V Solanke in a structure because Solanke v Wood/Muniz is too much of a financial jump for similar output.

I think Solanke scores much more than both Wood and Muniz, it showed last year in a Bournemouth side. Let alone a very attacking spurs team

                Over the season yes

                Over the first 3?

                Bournemouth, Southampton, Wolves

                Leicester, Everton, Newcastle

                United, Leicester, Ipswich

I’d be stunned if he scored 10 points more than either.

I actually think Solanke only has one good fix because you know Everton will defend deep there & Spurs tend to get beaten at SJP more often than not.

If Isak gets 250, Haaland needs to get around 325 even with captaincy still massively in my favour.

Toying with 2 structures - current draft below:

    Raya - Slicker
    Martinez - Andersen - Robinson - Mykolenko - Barco
    Salah - Gordon - Nkunku - Smith-Rowe - Rogers
    Haaland - Isak - Havertz

    A) stick with team above
    B) Raya -> Henderson, Nkunku -> Jota

Feel tempted by attacking Liverpool double up but would mean no Arsenal defensive cover. Thoughts?

For all the talk of 4.5m defenders being strong, I’m struggling to pick 2 of them who will be nailed & also return points, no point picking one just for 2 points or might as well start Barco

Hall, Quansah sound good but will they give me 3 GWs?

Mykalenko & Robinson will play but probably concede in every game.

Really not sure where to go.

Why on earth do you think Mykolenko and Robinson will concede every game??!

Everton were one of the best defences last season.
And take a look at Fulham's excellent pre-season results. Admittedly they lost Palhinha, but I expect them to reinforce at the back.

      Robinson-Mykolenko-Quansah-Andersen/Guehi +4.0

They are missing Branthwaite now and have added a player who’s never played in this league, they’ve also lost Onana & replaced him with a kid from Villa, they will concede goals as will Fulham who have just lost at elite DM & their best CB.

What is it you focus on? The colour coded list or the actual squads?

I cannot for the life of me fathom why FPL changed the BAPs scoring system the way that they have. Even more riches for attackers.

Defenders were already impoverished points scorers. This change has made things even worse. If anything they needed to change the BAPs in completely the opposite direction, to make defenders more attractive.

Agreed, seems even more pointless having premium defs when you're having to rely on attacking returns. Have to be very lucky to see that week in week out for the outlay

This is why I’m struggling to spend 5.5 on Porro, Spurs will concede a lot of goals, you’re really relying on multiple attacking returns, seems unlikely.

Someone like Trent makes sense because he’ll combine both but an assist here & there is no good if your defence is wide open.
