I am holding this week for all the transfers and waiting for IB.

I'm probably holding too but waiting for the pressers from them both, mainly around Watkins. If he keeps mentioning fitness again and it sounds like he's a minutes risk then its off the table. If he sounds more positive I've got a decision to make.

Its funny how things pan out though. Even though the penalties are a lottery I think because the Newcastle crowd and probably the owners want a trophy so badly and the League Cup is probably the best shot, the atmosphere inside SJP at the weekend could have been really different if they'd got knocked out having not really impressed in either league game. So I'm hoping that positive outcome last night can be a launchpad for the team but I appreciate that isn't very scientific but sport is often momentum and confidence which is hard to equate.

It's just extra depth and a better fit to cover Salah instead of having to shoehorn Harvey Elliott in there every time Salah doesn't play.

    5. DontPiqueTooSoon
      • 6 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

Chiesa is squad depth. He’s not the same player since buggering his ACL. Salah will be alpha for at least this season. Don’t expect reduced minutes if fit and available. It makes Jota and Diaz and co. more uncertain re minutes.

  12. Haa Haa Land

The abundance of Liverpool attacking MF and FWD after Chiesa's arrival is frustrating.. Salah seems like the only sensible choice but he's super expensive so to afford him you need to get cheap players elsewhere and hope he doesn't get injured... what a mess!

    1. Feloh
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

Chiesa actually reduces Salah's X mins of we're being honest. Makes Jota even a better option. Prepare to see Salah getting hooked off after 70 mins, especially if they are leading.

I thought he was right footed? Doesn't mean he can't play on the right but they tend to play them on their opposite wings? So he'd be another one competing for Diaz's shirt mostly. He seems quite versatile across the frontline.

        1. Feloh
          • 9 Years

The wings are packed. Jota's only competition is Nunez who will be out if Liverpool next season.

Also according to this link, he hasn't played more on the right wing than the left wing since the 16/17 season 😀

Spent a lot of time through the middle recently, so Jota isn't exactly safe either.

      1. Hanz0
        • 3 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Nor me, but already playing 3 at the back so has to be an attacker.

Rogers has the better fixture but Eze been unlucky and also is on pens. Can see him scoring vs Chelsea

        1. Feloh
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 6 months ago

Based on what Eze did last season when I started with him, he won't score. Was a massive troll. He's the type of player who is streaky. You bring him in once he starts scoring not before.

          1. Hanz0
            • 3 Years
            1 year, 6 months ago

I mean he did score a freekick which was questionably disallowed and has hit the woodwork twice. If I bench him this week at least will have him for Lei (H) next GW.

Wolves scored 2 vs Chelsea, and think the harder fixture may actually benefit Eze. Rogers whilst been great is still somewhat of an unproven asset.

The other factor is ownership, with Eze 26% and Rogers 12%, would stand to lose more rank if I get it wrong going Rogers.

            1. Feloh
              • 9 Years
              1 year, 6 months ago

Would stand to fly up the ranks of Rogers hauls. Are you an offensive or defensive manager. I normally start defending in gw 34.

              1. Hanz0
                • 3 Years
                1 year, 6 months ago

Offensive when im confident and defensive when I'm unsure. For me this is a pretty close call given Eze is on pens.

Served me pretty well tbf and I'm ranked in the Top 10K Managers of all-time but I get your point.

If Villa score I can see Watkins hogging more of the points assuming he is a bit sharper this week, whereas if Palace score good chance Eze is involved.

Super tough call, maybe over complicating it and should just target the easier fixture

That's a lot of faith in Solanke, Eze and Isak.

Do you think Solanke and Isak will both outscore Watkins over the next 4 GWs where he plays: lei EVE WOL ips?

Isak to Watkins with the 3FTs - being a spurs supporter, I’m confident Isak will score against us

an expanded ch l format, so more games and the fact he is 33 means not beyond realm of possibility Slot manages salah's minutes with Chiesa.

I also remember seeing this article a few weeks back

    A. Gordon + Solanke > Rogers + Watkins (-4). bench Sangare
    B. Sangare + Solanke > Rodgers + JPedro (-4). bench JPedro
    C. Solanke > JPedro. bench Sangare

B give me 8 potential starters
feel like B? Really dont fancy JPedro this week, but not sure

I don't think Shaw will ever be a regular again. He's constantly injured

Let's face it, how long will Shaw stay fit for when (if) he returns?
