With nine Premier League teams in midweek cup action at home or abroad, there’s lots of injury news to wade through ahead of Gameweek 6.

The pre-match press conferences on Thursday and Friday will, of course, tell us a lot more on the injury front. We’ll have article round-ups on both days and a video summary, as usual.

In the meantime, this initial rundown gives an overview of all 20 Premier League sides.

NEWCASTLE UNITED V MANCHESTER CITY

The big team news from the Manchester City camp this week concerns Rodri (knee).

A casualty of Sunday’s draw with Arsenal, the Spaniard is expected to be out for a long period of time. Media reports suggest it could be a season-ending issue, although City have yet to put a timescale on it.

“Manchester City FC can confirm that Rodri has suffered a ligament injury to his right knee.

“The injury was sustained during the first half of this weekend’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.

“The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester.

“Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis.” – Manchester City club statement on Wednesday

 “Still we don’t have the definitive [answer]… will be out for a long time, a while.” – Pep Guardiola, speaking on Tuesday

Rodri joins Oscar Bobb (leg) and Nathan Ake (hamstring) on the injury list at City.

Kevin De Bruyne (thigh) isn’t expected to be out for long but Gameweek 6 may come too soon.

“I don’t know, I don’t know. Yesterday didn’t train, today I didn’t see him, so I don’t know.” – Pep Guardiola, speaking on Tuesday, on Kevin De Bruyne’s chances of featuring against Newcastle

Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Sven Botman (knee) and Lewis Miley (back) are out long term for the Magpies.

Callum Wilson (back) likely won’t be back before the October international break.

      Confused by the Liverpool rotation narrative, seems like cope from some experts.

      pretty strong, good balance of expensive solid and enablers. Diaz becomes your rotator slot if everything else is working, 5 frees, need to play fixtures etc.

        Thanks! Dalot is a BPS magnet though. De Ligt has insane goal threat, I reckon he will score 3 or 4 goals this season, based on latest seasons and his Ajax past. Dalot is a Lewis back-up maybe a bit more stable for points and De Ligt a heigher ceiling?

      Considered it. Pretty impressed with what I've seen of him so far. Does look like Pep is instructing him to hold width though so may be relying on crosses and occasional through balls, rather than many shots, for FPL returns. I guess he would still start even with Foden fit but can't be too sure about that. Ultimately I decided to just hold off on City mids for 2-3 more GWs

    I really don't want to WC but Raya and Pedro being out would force my hand...

    0 FTs left. What should I do? If both Raya and Pedro are out I guess I have to hit the button. If only one is out do I take a hit? Awful spot. I wish my team was just crap and I could have hit the button immediately last Saturday night... WC'ing now I'd have missed out on a ton of TV.

      I would probably also take a hit for a fun punt with Pedro. Dont fully trust Arteta, Raya could still be ok. But the best advice I think is how much would your GW7/8 WC team differ from a WC6 team?

        I am for example probably Wildcarding in GW7 to pick up some city players like Foden or possibly Gvardiol, depending on more information we will get before the deadline.

      In the same spot here. None of the options I can get for -4 for Pedro are appealing to me either, would require a -8 to get someone like Wood, and Raya is a good option long term so I don't want to get rid of him either. Might just stick it out with 9 men
